But after almost playing the game nonstop, I feel like words repeat themselves too often. I’ve seen the words “paint, hotel” and “water” a bit too much. It would be nice if there was more variety to words, or just a way to not repeat words too much. ### 4/5 — Fun! *2022-01-16* Just like Wordle, so, fun. But I wish there was a little more “celebration” when you solve. It doesn’t blink or anything, just immediately pops up a menu to start a new game. The attempt to monetize something that was explicitly created as a free gift is cynical and depressing. (WORDLE was first written for the original developer's word game loving partner and then shared with the world.) The game itself does a good job of emulating the online version and seems to add the capability of playing with a friend. But it's hard to appeciate an app that seems to have been produced with a complete disregard for the original creator and his motives. A lot of WORDLE's popularity is because, as well as being a great game, it's an act of generosity on the part of the author with no strings attached. It’s like WORDL, but you can play it repeatedly (instead of only once per day.) WORDEX is terribly addictive, sometimes makes it hard to remain productive at work… 😀 Love the extra features. Like how you can make up words and send as challenges to friends, or create words and hand your phone to others to solve. As a side note, the New York Times just purchased WORDL, (since that game has become a global phenomenon), It will be interesting to see how it plays out with similar word games. I really hope WORDEX remains available!
