It’s fast paced and you must posses a great command of the English language and if you do, you’ll become addicted! However, if you don’t, you’ll probably lost interest very quickly. I say that because in order to be competitive you must be one who thinks fast and spells well. Also, you must have a wide base of words onboard to beat your opponents. The developers are pretty much doing NOTHING to stop the cheating. Players from other countries use some sort of program to win for days on end before they’re finally kicked off. By then they’ve taken most of your money and you don’t get reimbursed. ### 1/5 — Games good but greed prevails *2021-03-07* About December, Skillz started letting partner apps offer commercials to folks who lost their game to earn back freebie credit all they had to do was to allow players to opt out . Unfortunately the Tether Team, which has to also be a group of different companies, that is responsible for this app missed that memo. You get a crappy annoying ad win or lose whether you opt out or not. Worse still it plays at top volume no matter if you are in silent mode or not. Unsure how they are bypassing that but. In my opinion this alone should get them tossed. ### 1/5 — Unethical *2020-09-02, version 1.19* Their latest update was just to add way more advertising, not a single performance improvement. Moreover, at the end of each game it asks if you want to earn a point by watching an add. If you decline it plays the add anyway. How did it manage to get past the Apple approval process for checks against lying and deceitful functionality? ### 1/5 — Beware! Shady business. *2020-02-25, version 1.14* It takes at least a month after you withdraw money you won to reach you. On top of that, they have the right to terminate your account for whatever reason they feel like. Plus it’s nearly impossible to actually gain any money with this service, regardless of your skill level. Pretty freaking shady if you asked me. ### 1/5 — You have ruined a great game *2018-11-20, version 1.06* I have enjoyed playing Word Race for quite some time UNTIL the developers decided to try to make it a social media site. Today they added an extremely intrusive chat and friends functionality that you cannot turn off. Nor can you exit all of the screens hounding you to send messages or add friends. Furthermore a section of the game screen now displays ongoing chat messages between other users even if you are not participating. It is very distracting. HORRIBLE!!!!! Playing against real people and not bots is a big draw. As your skills improve, you will face like opponents with same approximate skill set. And no money is needed to play unless you wish to do so.
