Solved a very specific issue, in my city (Londonderry) we have people incorrectly call it 'Derry', now, everywhere across the web we see the correct name.  Worked across iOS and macOS seamlessly.

This is by far the best word replace I’ve used! *imagine more 'this app is great!' praises here bc I’m struggling to express all of my appreciation and approval*

I love the export feature since I also use this to make machine translations more readable. I have a few different documents for those MTL errors that have multiple corrections based on the topic/genre. 

Speaking of machine translation, I found reading MTL to be impossible before having this app. I occasionally used one website that had it’s own word replace function, but it had major flaws and a word replace limit. More importantly, I was completely restricted to reading whatever they happened to release! Thank you for opening up so much content to me by making this app. A translation app + this has vastly expanded my ability to access knowledge and entertainment in the languages I am illiterate. 

One issue I have is that there are some symbols which cause issues with this extension. Brackets, for one example, stops word replace from functioning until you delete that word replacement. It would be nice to have a list of symbols we can’t use in the 'word' section because (I assume) they’re also used for coding.

Some insignificant flaws: 

As the amount of text replacements increase the word replace page becomes more unwieldy, making editing a hassle. This is especially annoying when you accidentally erase something while scrolling through. The solution I found is to just use the safari 'find on page' function to search for the words that need editing. 

On some rare websites the 'bottom up' and 'top down' function’s don’t work properly. Or it keeps running word replace on repeat making some rather interesting errors like one word being replaced to two+ constantly alternating words. Mostly this just causes text duplication errors (which you can fix by being painstakingly strict with word replacing).

On even rarer websites this app doesn’t even work; this has only happened twice in the 7 months (and many websites) I’ve used this extension. Once was because that website used a hidden cypher to stop others from stealing their content. The other website would allow this extension to work when the page first loaded before quickly reverting back. 

*My initial review never showed up on here so this is attempt two. Which is probably better since I have a lot more experience using this extension now…

I downloaded this app because InteractiveFics is not available on iPad or iPhone. This app works wonderfully! It is definitely worth it! Kudos to the developer(s). Keep up the amazing work!!

Zum Beispiel einfach:

mit einem Leerstring ersetzen und wieder in Ruhe lesen können.

There are trigger words I do not wish to see. With this app, I am able to set that those words get replaced. If you’re really clever, you might choose your words so well that you don’t even notice a text contains a trigger word.

I am very careful with apps. But I’m very Impressed by this one. I was reading x Reader fanfictions and finally could change y/n to my name which was totally worth the money. A whole new experience of reading. It worked so good I love it!

It changes different words or letters than it’s supposed to.. sadly not worth the money

I get prompted to press the plus button when I open the extension in safari. There is no plus button anywhere. Please fix this issue

Do not buy. It can record your personal info and passwords

**Developer response:** I do not have access to users' personal information, passwords, or other information. Nor does this extension transmit such information to third parties.

Permissions messages are displayed when the extension needs to access the html of the page the user is viewing.

Since most extensions access the text, videos, etc. described in the html, you will see the same message for many extensions released by other developers.

For this extension, too, the message is displayed because it is not possible to replace the text on the page, even though the text is inaccessible.

Or look up the text on the Internet for its permissions.

Access rights are required to create the extension, does not necessarily mean that the user's information will be sent outside or otherwise behave in any way. I am sorry for your concern. I hope you understand.

This extension is pretty good, but has plenty of room for improvement.

It’s relatively easy to use, but the process of getting it set up is a little unclear. Opening the app tells you to go to Settings to turn on the extension, but what it doesn’t tell you is that you have to tell Safari to allow extensions on each page, and that you have to open the extension’s settings to add your word changes, rather than going back to the app. Honestly, it’s not that hard to figure out, but it would be nice if the app made it a little clearer.

I primarily use word replacers like this for fanfiction; y/n is annoying to read over and over again and it totally breaks the immersion. For this, it works pretty well. If there’s a period or question mark attached you have to make separate configurations for that, but that’s fine. I personally also use the word replacer to replace pronouns - most fanfiction is geared towards girls and as a guy, it’s kind of annoying and jarring to have to read she, her, miss, over and over again, and again it breaks the immersion. This extension can be used for that, but it’s not great. It replaces words inside other words, so if you have ‘other’ it will replace it to ‘othim’ which is uh… not correct. I hope that can be fixed.
Otherwise, it’s a pretty good extension. Configuring words is fairly easy and it works consistently.

I thought that the specification that words within words are also replaced certainly needs to be turned off by language, so I will fix that in my spare time.

In addition, I have corrected the issue of the unclear setting process.

This was a great app and did exactly what it was supposed to. However, I’m not sure if this has been neglected and forgotten because you can no longer do the only function of this extension, replace words. When you open the extension in Safari, it prompts you to press the plus button to add a word but there is no plus button leaving you unable to use the extension at all. Hope this gets fixed.

This is a useful app considering i couldn’t find any others, however, I did struggle a bit with setting it up so i suggest putting more thorough instructions. Yet, i eventually figured it out. I use this for fanfiction to replace “Y/N”,  i wish it worked on other apps aswell, but i understand it’s strictly for safari. Good idea, Good App, a few minor adjustments.

What an incredible extension! And I love that I can now fix the words that are incorrect on websites, but that “plus” button I went looking for it until I realised it’s the button that says “plus” on the extension menu. I wish it said “Add Word” instead! Nobody knows what plus means as a button!

1ページ目については、サイトのコンテンツに置換処理が適用された後にリーダー表示が読み込まれるため、置換が反映されています。しかし、2ページ目以降はリーダー表示が直接コンテンツを読み込むため、拡張機能による処理を適用することができません。
この制限はSafariのリーダー表示の仕組みに起因するもので、解決が難しい問題となっております。
