However, they choose which players are matched and which games they play. So, although I have 50 games pending, I’ve gone 24+ hours without being matched and am collecting refunds for games unmatched since last week. Meanwhile, players at the top of the leaderboard have played and won more than 100 games. I have games in queue from a week ago. They claim to match players based on skill. Untrue because I have played and beaten most of the players at the top of the leaderboard. What they’re doing is matching players to lose. They make me play one player almost 90% of the time. Tournament winners should be the best players in randomly matched games. Anything else is rigged. If they want to match players of equal skill level, they need tournaments for each level. We spent more than 6 months complaining that we were playing mismatched games and begging for refunds before they fixed that bug. I stuck with them, winning, and cashing out, topping the leader board. Odd that I can’t even play now. ### 1/5 — HUGE SCAM *2022-11-17, version 1.3.4* They are SCAM. Before you: -Had 30 seconds to go through as many rounds as you can -Earned some extra seconds if you completed first couple of rounds super fast -Were not penalised for wrong letter combinations (let’s say if you wanted to make word “love” but had accidentally made “loev”) Now you: -Only have 5 rounds to go through -Do not earn extra seconds -Get penalised for wrong words/combinations The game totally lacks element of excitement now! Before you were eager to see your and opponent’s final score and see how was able to get through more rounds and words. Now you are just worried of accidentally tapping wrong letters and lower your score because of penalties. You also know there’s only 5 levels max, so there is no point of rushing.. I used to play every day non-stop when I had free time, but now I don’t even feel like playing!! ### 1/5 — Please bring the old version back *2022-02-10, version 1.3.0* Was forced to update the game to new version - they’ve changed the game flow completely! Absolutely dislike it. ### 1/5 — Fun game but flawed opponent matching *2021-12-30* It’s truly a shame that the game developers of this game chose Skillz to host their game. The app is great but the opponent matching is problematic —even when you’re completely outskilled, matches are paired nonstop against the same player with a track record of winning against you. Over 25 consecutive matches against the SAME player is nothing short of harassment. Unfortunately, Skillz “customer support” is the absolute worst and consists of those who only know how to copy and paste the same unhelpful answers. They really ought to review the facts—supported by data—and admit to the fact that their “algorithmic matching— is completely flawed. Skillz should be audited by a third party as they are far too negligent and unwilling to review the facts. ### 1/5 — Update only works on certain accounts *2021-11-20* Time bonus limit update is only working on some accounts, not all. I know this to be a fact because I watched someone else play at the same time. So some people are winning all the time because they’re not limited. I was forced to update, but this other person wasn’t, maybe because of a different OS.
