### 5/5 — Love

*2022-07-04*

I really enjoy this word tracker app!

### 5/5 — Seems pretty cool!

*2022-05-25, version 1.4.0*

It looks nice and simple enough to use!

### 5/5 — Exactly what I was looking for

*2022-04-18, version 1.4.0*

Efficient, simple, intuitive, and really inexpensive. What I used to do with a complicated spreadsheet is so easy to do with this app. I bought the cloud sync not really because I’d use that option but because I though the app was at least worth that much (there is not even ads on the free version). I recommend.

### 5/5 — Love it - just one wish about functionality

*2022-01-06*

Love this app. It does exactly what I need it to do. My only wish is that I could specify how many days a week I plan to write. I take weekends off since writing is my full-time job, so it would be awesome to factor that into my word count calculations. But otherwise, the interface is simple and smooth and the info is useful.

### 5/5 — Exactly What I Needed

*2021-06-15*

This app is simple, intuitive, and not bogged down by fluff. I just need something to help me manage my project and it’s as easy as track what I have typed for the day, input, and move on. You couldn’t ask for a better app as a writer.

### 5/5 — great simple app!

*2021-04-25*

very functional, very straightforward app—no frills or distractions. i can track many projects at once and switch between them easily. the only feature i wish the app included is the option to “archive” your finished projects, so they don’t show up in your main drop-down of open projects, without just deleting it entirely (i like to look at the progress i made!) otherwise this app is precisely what i was looking for and has been working well for my purposes for weeks now.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2021-03-26*

I just downloaded this app about fifteen minutes ago, and I’m in love with how simple the user interface is, yet how much detailed feedback is provided. My only complaint is that I’d like to add in more projects. But, if you’re the type of person who only works on one manuscript at a time, this is the perfect app!

### 4/5 — Greatly needed NaNo app but have couple update requests

*2021-03-07*

This seems to be the NaNo word count tracker app that I’ve been desperately waiting for! However I can’t seem to find a way to update and track multiple projects at once or create my own begin/start date for tracking the projects. If there’s a way or an update for the app to be able to do that then this would be perfection 5/5 10/10 all that stuff!

### 5/5 — Perfect in every way.

*2021-01-24*

This app could be used for anything from writing essays to books, or just anything that involves word management really.

It’s simple — write using your favorite word processor, find the word count, subtract it from your target word count, input the difference into the app, and everything else is done for you. It includes rich statistics using graphs and percentages so you always know your patterns.

AND it’s free.

### 5/5 — Thank you so much

*2020-12-12*

Thank you so much for this app. It’s a simple word tracking app that helps me keep progress of my writing and fulfill a goal that I set for myself. It’s been so helpful.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work (nothing works for “base”)

*2022-11-01*

Asks for number of words in project, then asks for “words to exclude” and presumably this is a number of words? I tried numbers, and the “Done” button was still greyed out. Tried letters: greyed out. I couldn’t even get past the start-up screen. The web page doesn’t help, says, “ Set the target and a base (if you want to ignore any words from your document such as headers or notes).” But what’s a base? Is it a number? Numbers didn’t work in that field, so is it a word? Words didn’t work either.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2022-01-01, version 1.3.2*

It crashes after I open it

### 1/5 — Won’t open?

*2021-12-26*

Ive heard great things about this app, but I sadly have no way to confirm because it won’t open every time I go to download it! ;-;

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback and my apology for the inconvenience. The latest version (1.3.4) is now including the fix for the issue. Could you please install the latest version and let me know if it fixed the issue for you too? If yes, I would kindly ask you to re-evaluate your app rating. Many thanks.

### 2/5 — I wanted a word counter this isn’t it

*2024-04-14*

I typed in word counter into Apple and this came recommended sadly it has no word counter function.

### 3/5 — Visual Progress Does Wonders, Room for Improvement

*2024-11-29*

Tracking my progress with simple graphs and percentages has done wonders for my productivity.

It just takes the word count goal you set and divides that by the number of days until your set deadline. Easy.

The main issues I’ve run into are the following:

1) The app doesn’t allow you to mark off days you don’t intend to write (weekends, holidays, etc.), which throws off the count for each daily goal.

2) The calendar is flat wrong. Today’s date is 2024/11/28 which is a THURSDAY, but in the app it shows as a Friday. All the days are off by one and I’m not sure how that happened.

I still recommend this app if you’re a visual creature like me and seeing trackable progress on a graph helps. For a free app I can look past the flaws.

### 3/5 — Probably won’t meet my needs

*2024-02-04*

I only JUST downloaded this app, but I can already tell it probably won’t meet my needs bc of what it requires you to input when setting up a new project. I don’t have a daily or long-term word count goal. I simply want to track how many words I write each day in my day-to-day work so I have the metric. I put in 1 million words with a deadline in 2030 just so I could enter SOMETHING, but then it shows me my daily goal (a measly 300 words when I probably write 1000-2000/day), which is actually DEmotivating. I don’t want to have to do math just to guesstimate what I have to put in, and there’s no way to hide the daily goal that’s calculated. I want an option where I’m simply tracking total word count without a specific goal or end date in mind.

### 4/5 — Great, could use some more features.

*2025-06-06*

I really enjoy this app. It’s very simple, it adjusts word goals if you miss days, etc. The main things I wish would be added: back-dating word updates (I write at night a lot, and I’d like my words to count for Thursday, even if it didn’t technically get submitted until after midnight), and a calendar to show what days you did and didn’t write, and how much per day.

### 4/5 — Really great, just wish it was more flexible

*2025-03-16*

Sometimes I forget to log my words for a day, as there’s no way, at least that I can find, to update your word count for previous days. It would also be nice to have the option of tracking other things, like time. But I love the app. It’s easy to use and I really like that the daily goal updates based on how much you’ve done

### 4/5 — Missing one thing

*2022-12-15*

I have been using this for years but wish it had ONE crucial feature. I wish we could type in “new words today” and have it added to the total, rather than having to type in the over all total. Like how NaNoWriMo does it. Then it would be The Perfect App.

### 4/5 — Calendar Bug

*2022-10-02*

Not sure how to report a bug but my calendar is wrong on the app for 2022 — days every day is a day behind so October 2nd is a Monday on the app calendar…October 2nd is actually a Sunday. This seems to just have occurred and is really ruining my deadlines!

Otherwise I love this app! Help!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good word tracker

*2026-07-23*

I started word tracking because of NaNoWriMo and this helps me work at my pace. Highly recommend

### 5/5 — My review

*2026-05-15*

Love it!
Great app.
Very useful as an author.
I like that you can set up multiple projects at the same time.
Definitely recommend.

### 5/5 — Brilliant, easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing

*2026-04-18, version 1.4.0*

This is a great word tracker which looks beautiful and does everything I could need it to. The graphs used to show your progress towards your goal are incredibly motivating, and the format of inputting your overall word total each day is so much easier to use than other counters which ask you to input the amount of words written that day specifically. Really pretty, effective, and fun to use :)

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2026-03-29, version 1.4.0*

It makes me want to write, I love watching the numbers go up. Very easy to figure out, a must have for authors.

### 5/5 — Please Make For Non-Apple Users

*2025-08-12*

I’m an author and have shared this app a few times. Every time I’ve posted it, I’ve been asked if it’s exclusively for Apple. If it’s only an Apple app, please make it available to others - you’re the best word count tracker ever! Love the format. Love that you don’t when to sync anything. I can add however many projects I want and meet goals for my first draft. I am so much more productive when I use this app - highly recommend for aspiring writers hoping to be more consistent

### 5/5 — Great for assignments

*2025-03-31, version 1.4.0*

Honestly it’s what has gotten me through uni do wish on days it suggests 0 words it would do the blue circle as it is technically complete

### 5/5 — What it says on the tin

*2024-10-30, version 1.4.0*

Great to find a word tracking app that doesn’t have any hidden subscription fees. A bit clunky in some places, but gives clear statistics and has a simple and effective menu. I’d like if there was a way to add a single day’s word count but you can only change the total word count. Simple yet gets the job done

### 5/5 — Phenomenal

*2024-08-05, version 1.4.0*

Listen, I’ve been using this app for four days. Already, my productivity has boosted, and it’s all because of the little serotonin rushes I get from seeing the tracker fill in. I was looking for something that could specifically replicate the progress tracker on the Nanowrimo website, but y’know, year round. This is exactly what I have been looking for. The interface is simple, easy to use, with no useless bells and whistles. You set your goal, you get your daily percentage, and you get your long term progress graph. It’s exactly what I have been looking for. Point, blank, period.

### 5/5 — Fantastic my simple

*2024-01-30, version 1.4.0*

Such an easy tool to use with quick statistics to view.

### 5/5 — Super app

*2023-07-21, version 1.4.0*

Love this, I wish I could add days in the past simply because I’ve already started my current project and wanted to track it from the beginning
