### 3/5 — I thought I would have games

*2019-09-17, version 2.7*

The free version of this app shows a game and tools folder, which you cannot access unless you pay for the pro version, which I did, yet those folders don't exist in the expensive paid for version. I'm confused. Otherwise, the app is user friendly and has a large catalog of materials. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for this and my other grievances.

Additionally, the pictures don't show for all of the words. For example, when I start initial /s/, the first word on the list is 'sack' but when you do the pull down, the first picture is cereal. This is not the only example of this, either. For as much money as this app costs I expected much better.

### 3/5 — It’s ok

*2019-07-16, version 2.7*

I bought this to get an increased variety of stimuli and minimal pair practice. I like the vocalic r and vowels section in the artic. But the vowels section (and a few others) do not come with pictures. The minimal pair section has no pictures and is kinda useless. And you have to download each section of pictures individually. Overall, there are lots of useful word lists and stimuli, but it doesn’t seem worth the money without the pictures already loaded and completely missing in many sections.

### 3/5 — Still cannot access Pro pictures I had last year!

*2018-10-08, version 2.5*

I love this app, however when purchased the Pro version over a year ago, I never had a problem with the pictures coming up until this year. They just won’t download. I tried problem solving everything and I know it is not the school’s internet because I get the pictures on my phone (while I am also connected to the school’s internet.)
I went so far as to email myself all my student’s progress, then took a huge breath and deleted the app! I re downloaded it to my iPad hoping with fingers crossed that was what it needed but to no avail. I now have the app but NO student profiles.
I will now have to add all my students again.
I will say I emailed Luke, the developer for help and he got back to me with some suggestions but what he suggested still does not work.
Very sad in Texas....

### 4/5 — Great concept

*2016-10-15, version 2.2*

For those with no pics in pro, pull down on the word page to see them. Some areas developed than others, but in that same vein of thought, it provides a starting point to help a newbie speech therapist or a family who picks up the app. Seems odd to include topics (like stories), but then only have three. Ideally, you are on an iPad though, so look up the news or a motivational story to keep going. Will look forward to hopefully seeing the makers expand the app in weak areas. Good movement towards being a comprehensive app, just needs more development. I will update my rating, if I see updates over time. I will continue to explore the app, looking for interactive tasks, haven't found them, yet.

### 3/5 — OK but ...

*2016-05-27, version 2.2*

There is a lot to like about this app - the pictures are lovely and of a good size. The word lists are also very helpful. One problem is accessing the pictures. Even after going to the support on the website, I am still having trouble. I think it should work better for the price, even at half price.

### 2/5 — Crashes when selecting student

*2016-04-12, version 2.2*

The app crashes when a student name is selected. It has useful lists but is ineffective for recording data.

### 2/5 — App crashes when switching profiles

*2016-03-02, version 2.2*

The app content is great...however, the entire app crashes whenever I switch between client profiles. This is highly disappointing, as the ability to focus on different targets for multiple students was one of the main reasons I purchased this app. I was very excited about this purchase 😕

### 2/5 — Inconsistent

*2016-02-02, version 2.2*

I love the premise but get frustrated when I want lists & pictures for final /sh/ and /s/ words show up or I want 3 syllable words and 1 syllable words show up. When I stop on the third sentence and switch students, the sentences go back to the beginning of the list when I return.

### 4/5 — Terrific go to app

*2015-10-27, version 2.2*

This is a really great app. Covers everything, so no more printouts! Would like to see stories with figurative language so kids can figure it out by context. A list in this case is not quite good enough. Pictures to go with the idioms
Stories would make it 5 stars.

### 4/5 — Almost Perfect

*2015-06-01, version 2.2*

This app is fantastic. They only improvement would be the same layout with pictures.

### 4/5 — DO

*2015-05-27, version 2.2*

The picture used for sink does not represent the opposite meaning of float.

The pictures for box and boxes do not represent the plural of box.

### 3/5 — Where are the pictures?

*2015-05-21, version 2.2*

I owned the free version and purchased the pro because I wanted pictures. I don't see them! I like the recording features but not worth the extra money. Please help me find the pictures!

### 3/5 — Crashes

*2015-05-07, version 2.2*

For some reason when I go to select a profile the entire program crashes.

### 2/5 — Excellent!

*2015-03-17, version 2.1*

Love this app! I use this app daily for almost all of my students. I appreciate the fact that we can personalize. I have been sending additional ideas and suggestions, so I hope we can add to it! Keep up the great work! Thanks

### 4/5 — Disappointed

*2015-02-24, version 2.1*

I had the old version and used the app all the time. My iPad mentioned there was an updated version so I clicked on it. Wow, I was so disappointed because there is too much down time between picking students and their goals. The old version in my eyes was so much quicker. Is there a way to get the old version back?

### 4/5 — Good foundational app

*2015-02-11, version 2.1*

This is the go to app for most all kinds of clients and the way to customize is nice for those it does not quite address . I would like to see each and every stimulus with a number as I usually want to do an even ten or twenty and get confused on my scoring if I don't have each stimulus numbered. The best part is the tracking of clients scores and I wish there was a way to chart it over time.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Nothing is working!

*2024-10-02, version 2.7*

I had used this app last year without any problems. I went to use it this school year and I couldn’t get access. I would try to sign in and it just said I had an account, but wouldn’t open my account. I deleted my previous app and downloaded and paid for a new annual fee access. None of the pictures will download and I found that now I have to pay separately for the games. I get no response from app support. May have to cancel and get a refund. I hate to have to do this. My students really enjoyed the app and we got so many more productions using the app :(

### 1/5 — Should’ve read the reviews

*2021-11-30, version 2.7*

I should’ve read the reviews about pictures not downloading before I paid for the pro version. That’s my fault, but am disappointed that I wasted money on an app that doesn’t work. Stick with the free version.

### 1/5 — No custom pictures/audio on My Vault

*2019-11-07, version 2.7*

I created Christmas 2019 on my Vault. Still no custom pictures/audio!

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2019-03-28, version 2.7*

This app keeps crashing on me. Very frustrating

### 1/5 — Glitch

*2019-02-21, version 2.7*

In middle of therapy. Phonological stops😡

### 1/5 — I can see the picture

*2016-05-17, version 2.2*

I bought the pro version and I can't see the pictures. Please advise or refund my money

### 1/5 — Missing Pictures

*2015-12-04, version 2.2*

I am very disappointed - many categories have no pictures. If one chooses a pic it always goes back to first word and doesn't matter what you chose (3 syll etc.). This very expensive app needs a lot more work to be worth it.

### 1/5 — Not worth the money!

*2014-07-10, version 1.0.1*

I purchased this app hoping to help my children with articulation. While the lists can help for a couple of 2-3 minute practice sessions, there aren't nearly enough words to practice as I anticipated. The 75,000 word list must also include every word in each scenario under a different section because there's no way there's that many words in the lists. Im really disappointed and would have saved my money if I'd known!

### 1/5 — Missing some sounds

*2013-07-29, version 1.0.0*

There are no "sh" words. I bought it specifically for that :/

### 2/5 — Has Potential

*2021-10-11, version 2.7*

Was super excited at the prospect of this app. I had used the word lists from the website multiple times in therapy before purchasing. After I paid for the pro version I figured out this app doesn't do half of what I want it to. You can edit lists to some extent but it feels like you’re constantly doing “workarounds” to make the app work for you. Can’t easily edit word lists, can’t easily create your own lists by adding photos, can’t create lists of specific words from already existing word lists for one patient. All very frustrating. I have had this app for a few years and still haven’t gotten my money’s worth because of how limited I am in the functionality.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent resource.... with caveats

*2019-11-12, version 2.7*

An excellent course, containing useful material for speech/reading work.

Caveat 1: The course is geared towards American English. If you are studying/teaching British English, you will need to make the occasional adjustment because of vocabulary and cultural priorities.

If you are using the app to assist with British English pronunciation, you will also need to make a few adjustments in various places (as a student, you might want to seek informed guidance).

Caveat 2: The course is designed for children. Some of the sample/practice phrases and sentences may need adjusting too.

### 5/5 — SLP Steph

*2016-07-18, version 2.2*

Love using this app. I work in an elementary school and this helps with my big groups. My only complaint is that when I switch between players that it doesn't stay on the item that they where on when we go back to them. If possible on the next upgrade can you make it so that it stays on the item that they where on. Thanks & thanks for all your hard work on this app and your website. Lots of great information.

### 5/5 — SLP Dream App

*2016-05-17, version 2.2*

Word Vault Pro is an incredible app. The creators thought of everything! I am an outpatient speech-language pathologist and use this app daily. Word Vault is engaging and appropriate for all ages. Children love recording their voices, which helps encourage self-monitoring. Older students enjoy the jokes. I especially love that you can customize pages. This saves me time that I would typically spend making flash cards. This app is worth every single penny. Thank you, Word Vault crew!

### 5/5 — So useful!

*2015-05-26, version 2.2*

I love the updates made to this app, and each time I use it, I find more features that I love! I do wish for more phonological process represented, though. Love having the social materials, they are very helpful, and also love that some of the language materials have grade level referents.

### 5/5 — Love

*2015-04-01, version 2.1*

I love that it is so user friendly on my phone as well. Most of the time the apps only work well on the iPad because it's bigger screen allows more space and clarity. This app works equally as well on my phone as it does on iPad! I love turn this app, it was MORE then worth the $2.99 easily!

### 5/5 — Thank you!

*2015-01-22, version 2.1*

Great app and update! Thank you to the developers!

### 5/5 — Very useful!

*2015-01-15, version 2.1*

This has been a terrific update. I've had the app for a couple of months and enjoyed fast access to word lists. But now the ability to see each target word on the screen by itself -- with fabulous pictures -- makes it a great addition to my printed artic cards. Thank you!!

### 5/5 — Simply Amazing

*2015-01-12, version 2.1*

Talk about having everything you need at your fingertips!!!! I can't say enough wonderful comments about this app!!!! It is a must!!!!!

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2015-01-11, version 2.1*

It is awesome update from Word Volt app. The Pictures are a big plus for my clients with autism and learning disabilities. Thank you.

### 5/5 — So much better!

*2015-01-11, version 2.1*

I think this will become my "go-to" app from now on. I had the old version but really did not use it for articulation because my clients need pictures. I was so excited to see all the gorgeous pictures included in this last update. And to be able to personalize it is something that I had asked about a long time ago. Thank you for including that!
