Good for helping to spell words. My son loves collecting the stickers!

### 5/5 — Baby loves

*2012-11-16, version 1.1*

Perfect app for 19 month old daughter who loves matching the letters to the words!

### 4/5 — My son loves this

*2012-09-21, version 1.1*

Good game to learn spelling. My son is three years old Almost four and likes this game.

### 5/5 — Teaches Spelling - GREAT APP!

*2012-06-16, version 1.0.4*

My 2 year old can spell now, thanks to this app, and he LOVES to giggle with Coco and Maus. DDM has the BEST apps for Pre-schoolers+!

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2012-04-29, version 1.0.4*

My girls are 2.5 and they love this app. Learning letters and drag n drops. Can't say enough positive remarks about your design experience work. Nicely done. :)

### 4/5 — Great app

*2012-01-31*

All good

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2012-01-28, version 1.0.4*

Kept my two boys entertained for hours. Different levels affect the way the words are spelt out, phonics or letter names. There's so much interaction and the rewards are genuinely rewarding. Really really good.

### 5/5 — My 3 year old learned his letters

*2011-11-26, version 1.0.4*

Unbelievable, but true! He loves this game and the music and now he always identifies letters.

### 4/5 — Son loves it but not sure I do!

*2011-11-23, version 1.0.4*

Like so many kids apps, it's the American voice that's the issue. A uk version for the Brits please!

### 3/5 — Graphics aren't crisp

*2011-11-02, version 1.0.4*

As said above, graphics don't seem as crisp as the other apps from duck duck moose. Concept is good but a bit advanced for my 18mth old at the moment. Think he would get bored of the repetitiveness. One I will keep till he's older though.

### 5/5 — One Great App

*2011-10-17*

This app is great. My 4 year old navigates it with ease and enjoys it immensely. My 8 yr. Old has reading trouble and it is wonderful for her and holds her interest too. I introduced this app to the reading specialist at our school and she is getting it for the iPod Touches she uses in class. Good Stuff!

### 5/5 — Word Wagon

*2011-07-27*

When you want something to occupy a little one and you don't want to feel guilty, Word Wagon is an excellent choice! My almost 3 year old granddaughter loves this app which she "plays" when we are in the car. The graphics are very colorful and interesting to hold her attention and she is learning to spell while she is having fun. The multiple levels are convenient for various developmental levels. As a health care provider as well as a grandmother, I highly recommend this app to anyone with preschoolers.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App is not working

*2024-06-28*

Hi there’s a problem with the app

### 1/5 — Doesn’t use phonics

*2020-07-22, version 2.2.1*

Not helpful for a phonics early reader

### 1/5 — Not 'phonics' at all

*2011-06-16, version 1.0.2*

This app has no option to prefer letter sounds over letter names. Since British children are recommended to learn only letter sounds in their early years (since these form the basis of synthetic phonics taught in schools) the letter names are confusing and unhelpful. It wouldn't be difficult for the developer to add a preference, since other aspects of the app are good (my daughter has loved almost all DuckDuckMoose apps since the age of one).

### 2/5 — Beware ipad compatibility claim

*2012-11-22*

Although this app says its compatible with ipad it really should say you can blow it up to twice the size and have horrible pixelation. Shonky

### 2/5 — Ok kid's app. but...

*2011-12-21, version 1.0.4*

Great graphics but I wish it saved a child's progress. Wish I knew that before I purchased this app.

### 2/5 — Audio poor

*2011-04-24, version 1.0.1*

The audio on this app is terrible

### 3/5 — Brilliant idea- just not quite right!

*2013-01-12, version 1.1*

Really great games that allow children to recognise and learn letters, sounds, names so on. Just have an issue with the letters being UPPER CASE and not lower case. Maybe an American thing? but in uk Lower case is learnt first. Also emphasis placed on letter names and not phonics. (The phonics are there but not first priority! )
Shame. Would be an almost perfect app with a few tweaks! just too confusing for British kids.

### 3/5 — Clearer Title?

*2012-10-22*

I bought this app by accident because it said it was compatible with iPad. It is but it's the tiny iPhone version. So I had to buy the other version for my iPad. It would be nice it is said which version is for which rather than assuming HD means iPad.
Other than that..good app that kids enjoy.

### 3/5 — 2 yr old loves it

*2012-07-23, version 1.0.4*

Has kept my daughter amused for ages, very impressed with that part. However, from an educational point of view think the phonics level shouldn't include the letter sounds - which would better support how uk children are taught.

Sort that bit and it would get 5 stars.

### 3/5 — Needs work

*2012-04-01*

I love it but the phonic pronunciations need to be slower. And the lower case a should be in a font that is similar to the way kids learn to write in school. My son doesn't recognize the a. I would love an addition where it teaches a says aaa.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I did an awesome job!

*2021-08-27*

I was six in 2016 and I graduated first grade!

### 5/5 — FYI, letter colours in dark mode

*2020-09-01, version 2.2.2*

In dark mode, the letters blend right in with the tiles in the most recent update. Was really hard for my kid to use until I figured it out.

### 5/5 — Play & Learn

*2017-05-05*

My 3 year old loves spelling words (level III) and receiving the golden stars after building his list. It's easy for him to navigate through all the features. This app makes it feel more like play than learning to him. I definitely recommend this app to others.

### 5/5 — Great game for spelling/phonics

*2016-11-28*

My four year old son loves to play Word Wagon. He has learned to spell many new words while having fun doing it.

### 5/5 — Nice app

*2013-09-16*

This is a great app that keeps kids engaged while teaching them basic letters, vocabulary, and spelling. My only small gripe would be that the lowercase "a" is in computer format and doesn't match what is taught in school.

### 5/5 — 5 stars

*2013-05-27, version 1.1.2*

Make another level please, because I just want more levels ~Aiden 5YO

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2013-05-20, version 1.1.2*

My 3 year old loves this app. It gives him multiple levels to work upto.

### 5/5 — Duck Duck Moose

*2013-04-24, version 1.1.2*

Excellent!! Interactive, fun yet challenging according to child's ability! Humorous great music !!

### 5/5 — Cleverly made

*2013-04-18*

Brilliant app (all Duke Duke Mouse for that matter!) but bug with newly purchased iPad Mini: letters would freeze -can't be dragged!

### 5/5 — Every app they make is AMAZING!

*2013-01-15*

I also love itsy bitsy spider. So detailed and very well designed. I haven't seen many children's apps that pays so much attention to detail. Very interactive!
