## What is WordGate?

Look, we all know traditional app blockers are useless. When the screen time limit runs out, you just hit "Ignore for 15 minutes" and go right back to scrolling. I got fed up with my own screen time habits, so I built Word Gate.
Instead of just locking you out, Word Gate intercepts your most distracting apps and adds productive friction. Want to open TikTok, YouTube, or Reddit? You have to earn it. The app forces you to pass a quick vocabulary quiz (English or French) before your target app unlocks.
It takes the exact dopamine loop that keeps you glued to your phone and hijacks it to build your vocabulary.
How it actually works:
The Intercept: Uses Apple's native Screen Time API for a true, strict block on the apps you choose.
Earn Your Time: You must answer vocabulary questions correctly to unlock your apps. No skipping, no cheating.
