### 3/5 — I want to love it…

*2026-08-27*

I just updated to the new version of the app and I have to say it isn’t my favourite anymore! Some of my most used features are gone. I don’t love everything on one page so that you have to scroll, I loved the tabs; that felt more organized and easier to use for study. I don’t see insights under the questions anymore. I loved being able to dig deeper and compare my thoughts against the insights. It’s prettier now but in my opinion, not as functional for study. It just feels like another scrolling social media app…not a study tool

### 3/5 — Great idea, not so great execution

*2026-07-05*

I love the idea of BSF offering a separate study. The content is great and it is keeping me in the Word through the summer. But I’m frustrated by the fact that it doesn’t keep track of my progress and keeps presenting previous week studies as the current study. I’m pretty sure I’m not using it incorrectly. I work in mobile app development (specifically quality assurance) so I’m very familiar with mobile app UX/UI. I love being in Gods Word in the time between BSF sessions but I don’t like feeling frustrated every time I use this app.

### 3/5 — Landscape View

*2026-07-01*

It’s frustrating and difficult answering the questions in the vertical mode. Makes the study difficult.

### 3/5 — Needs some work

*2026-06-19*

I love the content, but do not like the functionality of the new app. It always goes back to week 1 and you basically have select next to advance through to where you left off. I’m not sure if it is the lesson or the app. As I recall, the old app saved where you left off, even if it was in the middle of notes. Anyways, I find it cumbersome to use now.

### 3/5 — Disappointed

*2025-07-21*

This app is not user friendly. It is hard to use and reading the scripture is challenging as many words run together. The old Wordgo app was much better.

### 2/5 — Great study

*2025-07-03*

This revised app is better than the first version. However, it would be better in landscape and the layout like BSF study app.

### 2/5 — More like a devotional

*2025-06-30, version 0.0.35(1)*

Questions are not very deep, it’s more like an out of order daily devotional than an in-depth study. There’s not much delving into the word, only questions about yourself. I guess it is free, though…

### 4/5 — Great study app

*2025-06-23*

This is a great app to keep one studying God’s word on a daily basis and it only takes about 15 minutes. The one glitch I would like to see fixed is when I want to hear the lecture and it jumps back to the scripture. It’s a little frustrating when you are trying to read along with the speaker.

### 3/5 — Goodish

*2025-06-16, version 0.0.35(1)*

Please bring back insights and the prayer before you begin our study option. Thank you!

### 3/5 — Lots of Missed Features

*2025-06-13*

Honestly, I want to old app back. While I love the improvements to the Biblical content, the old app was much more user friendly for studying.
1. Overall appearance is now dark. God’s word is literally Light. I do not enjoying the depressing imagery of the new app. Comparing 1John to 1John in both apps; the old app is far more bright and joyful. The new one is low light and I was amazed and the feeling of depression upon switching.
2. Toggling between pages. For scripture, questions, notes, when you’re literally on the GO you don’t always have a Bible to keep open beside you. Not losing my place in scripture when answering questions or references scripture when reading through notes, was wonderful. Now, it’s time consuming to scroll to reference scripture when answering questions and reading/listening to notes.
3. Customization: you used to be able to set a reminder to pray, tell the app how long each day you had to study, and more. I can’t find any of these in the new app and it didn’t prompt me at the beginning. This was so helpful to me as a mom of littles struggling to not get caught up in life. It was something I raved about to others. And now it’s absent.
4. No longer have more than one individual course open. I see you can create new groups but not multiple individual studies. I liked being able to cross reference different notes/studies.
5. Lastly, I lost everything I had studied in switching to the new app. Brining in the midst of a study, this was extremely disappointing

### 2/5 — Accessibility issues

*2025-06-13*

Due to poor vision, I have increased the font size on my phone, but when I open the app, the text runs together, and the text in the buttons doesn’t show correctly.

Per the Help docs, I had to reduce the font size on my phone to use this app.

### 4/5 — I love WordGo! But New App…

*2025-06-11*

I have loved and used the WordGo app for a few years now. These studies are the best studies around - and for free!!
The format and layout in the old app made it easy to switch between scripture and questions. It seems as though in the new app they’ve forgone a nice format and focused on making it more about outreach. A couple months ago they made a video and sent it to BSF classes about the new and improved version, which I agree is improved with training videos and such, but I don’t believe the format is new or improved. It seems they’ve also left out the “insights” for each question, which I appreciate when I’m stumped on how to answer a question, or what direction the question is aiming to go. Again, I will still be using it because the content is AMAZING!!! I just hope they reformat the studies.

### 4/5 — Great study, app needs a couple of tweaks

*2025-06-09*

I have enjoyed WordGo for several years and was excited to hear about the new and updated app. I like some of the new features, such as having the daily Scripture reading, questions, and notes on the same page. However, I am unable to locate the insights for the questions that the former app had, even though insights are mentioned. Also, the formatting needs to be tweaked a bit, because the numbering of points is not spaced correctly. Having said this, the studies are still the same BSF quality that I have loved for years, and I still recommend the app to others.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Add back login by username password

*2026-05-31, version 0.1.1(4)*

As others have mentioned, I don’t want connect to apps using my Google or Apple passwords. Especially in today’s world of hacking and need to keep passwords secure. I have used WordGo before and was surprised to see the functionality removed. Until it is fixed unfortunately I will not be able to use the material again.

### 1/5 — App update ruined it

*2026-02-14, version 0.1.1(3)*

Used to love this app, but the redesign ruined it. No more gathering option, more bugs, worse UI. Very frustrating

### 1/5 — Making an account

*2026-01-10, version 0.1.1(3)*

I wish I could use the app by using username and password as before and not using apple sign in or google sign in. I don’t want to connect my account that way so I will not be able to use the app or the Bible studies

### 1/5 — Needs name/password login

*2025-12-15, version 0.1.1(3)*

This needs an option to login without using google or apple. Some of us need to protect our privacy and not have everything linked.

### 1/5 — Fire Your Consultants and the Executive Who Hired Them…..

*2025-07-19*

….and bring back the last version of the app.

I agree with all previous negative comments, (but not their “4-star” grades). You guys really laid an egg and you know it but you pushed this anyway because you want to build ‘community’. That’s great, but you ruined the vehicle in the process.

I’ll add to the list of complaints—trouble opening the app on different public WiFi’s like in hotels and hospitals. Too often I have to turn off WiFi and rely on data….and I’d better have 4 bars to make it work.

Time to find another Bible Study. When you dump this one and go back to the old let me know. That was a 5-star app.

### 1/5 — Can’t log in

*2025-06-27, version 0.0.35(1)*

Only log-in options are using your Google or Apple accounts. I want to be able to log-in with a UN and PW. I haven’t been able to see app itself because of this. Will I also loose all my data from the old WordGo? This isn’t an update, it’s an entirely new app.

### 1/5 — Review for WordGo

*2025-06-13*

I went to download the WordGo app via Apple and back out when it required access to my photos. I declined that access but WordGo would not proceed as it required access. I should be able to use my BSF login

### 1/5 — Can’t get it to work

*2025-06-13, version 0.0.35(1)*

I would love to review content but I can’t get it to work - I can not navigate - seems like software is riddled with bugs.

### 1/5 — No login

*2025-05-29, version 0.0.35(1)*

It isn’t an update to the old WordGo app. I’m not going to sign up with a new user and lose all of the courses I’ve done and notes I have taken over the years. Too bad. I was looking forward to the update.

### 2/5 — Needs Paid Software Developers

*2026-05-02*

BSF runs on volunteers and this is an area where it is hurting them. I’m sure an organization of this size (who just built a new headquarters) can afford to pay real software developers. The glitches in this app are still not resolved after one year—silly ones like formatting in the text. As a BSF group leader who uses WordGo to lead studies in the summer, it does not reflect well on an organization I believe in and love so much. None of my summer study participants come to BSF and it does not make for a persuasive invitation when we spend a good portion of our time lamenting the digital challenges of this app.

**Developer response:** Hi MotherGoose_005, my name is James, and I'm the Product Manager for WordGo at BSF. Thank you for your leadership and for your heart for this ministry. I sincerely apologize that the technical experience has been a distraction from your studies; I know and want to honor how important that time is.

I want to share that we released a major update two weeks ago to improve stability, and there is another update arriving in June dedicated specifically to fixing text formatting issues.

I would love to follow up with you directly to make sure we’ve caught all the issues your group has faced. Would you mind emailing me at: info@wordgo.org? I will monitor that inbox for your reply.

I’m committed to making this right for you and your group.

Best regards,

James A

### 5/5 — Wonderful, Rich Bible Study App

*2026-07-20*

I absolutely love this app! Everything for my BSF study is in one place, making it so easy to stay organized and engaged. My favorite feature is being able to listen to the notes in the car. The studies are thoughtful, in depth, and I especially love the Prepare and Reflect sections. Beautifully designed and a wonderful tool for growing deeper in God’s Word. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — So good!

*2025-12-31*

A great app that helps me build my faith in Christ! I love the noted and the ability to study with others. It’s a great app!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2025-07-17*

I had the older version and didn’t realize it could get even better! Perfect for both solo and group Bible study. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to spend more time in the Word and deepen their faith.

### 5/5 — In-depth study on the go!

*2025-05-25*

I love this app - it’s super simple to GO to the world with the Word: to your local community, neighbors, family, friends, workplace, and church. With redesigned weekly study features and all new prayer request and discussion sharing, this redesigned Bible study app retains all the great great content from the previous version and transfers it to a much more user/group friendly app. Praise God!

### 5/5 — Amazing update to a great study app!

*2025-05-21*

The content of the original WordGo app was already second to none, since it’s made by BSF. This new WordGo app improves the whole group study experience, with in-app discussions and the ability to share and discuss answers to questions from other group members. My family is loving this new app!

### 4/5 — Wordgo for Small Group Bible Study

*2026-04-20*

I personally really enjoyed using WordGo for our ladies’ small group. We used it for two different studies. One on Ruth and another on Colossians. It was so helpful having everything organized in one place, along with the ability to share our answers and posts with the group. I especially appreciated being able to read others’ responses and gain different perspectives. Once I got used to the navigation, I found it very user-friendly and easy to use. I would definitely recommend it for group Bible studies!

### 4/5 — Great Bible Study

*2025-08-31, version 0.0.35(1)*

Just need to work out the little bugs with text spacing, sizing and a few missing questions.

### 4/5 — Great study app

*2025-07-07*

This is a great app to keep one studying God’s word on a daily basis and it only takes about 15 minutes. The one glitch I would like to see fixed is when I want to hear the lecture and it jumps back to the scripture. It’s a little frustrating when you are trying to read along with the speaker. Another problem is that every day when I go to use the app, it does not come back to where I left off and I have difficulty finding the next days lesson. It would be a great app if these things would get fixed.

### 4/5 — Formatand content good

*2025-06-26*

See where I didn’t put a space in my first 2 words? Well I am reading the Psalms like that! I liked Wordgo 1.0 but this version needs some work. The format and the content is very good I just think that BSF should have put out a better product. They’re not a sloppy company.

### 4/5 — Great app - Needs landscape support on iPad

*2025-06-25*

Long time BSF leader and class member. Always loved WordGo since version 1.0. This version is a huge improvement. Only things missing are iPad support for both landscape view and multiple apps running simultaneously.
