### 5/5 — Perfect

*2024-07-24*

I was looking for a simple app that would show me new words daily and this is perfect. I love the minimalist design and how to-the-point it is. 좋은 앱을 제공해서 감사합니다!!

**Developer response:** 감사합니다! We're always looking to improve. Let us know if you have any suggestions: support@wordia.me.

### 5/5 — Great app but can’t use bookmark feature

*2024-05-22*

I really like this app, I’ve been studying Spanish for a while but I’m still pretty beginner, so this helps me get some daily practice with different vocabulary. One issue I’m having is that my bookmarked vocabulary aren’t showing. It worked at first, but I think after updating it won’t show me anything I’ve bookmarked, either before or since. This is frustrating because I would like to review vocabulary to remember it better. If I was able to use that feature this app would be an easy 5 stars for me.
Update: With the new update the problem I had was fixed and it looks like some new features were added! I’m impressed with the quick response and now I can get even more out of the app! If you’re learning a language you should absolutely get this!

**Developer response:** Hey Tegan, thanks for the review and apologies for this missing bookmarks bug! We just released an update to fix this (1.5.10). Please try updating the app and email us if you're still having issues: support@dailywordapp.com. If it's fixed, hopefully we've earned an updated review!

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2024-01-21*

This app is my new favorite teacher!

**Developer response:** Glad to hear it!

### 5/5 — SUPER HELPFUL!!!

*2024-01-16*

This app is EXTREMELY helpful and underrated! I'm basically fluent in Spanish and sometimes it's hard to find vocabulary that I don't already know. But after downloading this app, I've learned SO MANY new, interesting, and useful words! I also agree with the other reviews; the Home Screen widget is very helpful and I really love how it's always there to remind me of the vocabulary word of the day. I just wish there were an option to change the widget's color or to display all 3 words on the widget (by swiping) instead of just one. But other than that, I absolutely 100% love and recommend this app! If you're thinking about downloading it you definitely should go ahead :)

**Developer response:** Thanks Caitlyn! Changing widget colors is a great idea, and we will be adding this feature in the near future. Stay tuned!

### 5/5 — Awesome but add more words per day

*2024-01-15*

I really like this for Spanish words every day but wish there were more. Only three right now. However, the words are fun and I haven't seen many that I already know at the intermediate level. I also like the green color and design. Lastly the tie in with hellotalk is pretty nice. I've posted the daily word in an example sentence a few times there and have received helpful corrections from Spanish speakers. Keep up the good work!!!!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review! Adding more words per day is a good idea and something we are thinking about internally. Feel free to send us more feedback to support@dailywordapp.com.

### 5/5 — Really good for Japanese practice

*2024-01-14*

Installed few days ago. Very good selection of vocabulary words every day. Pronunciation is accurate as far as I can tell. Also the home widget is very good. Design not too complicated and cluttered like other vocabulary apps. I would like to see furigana in the future though. Also please add word categories that we can select.

**Developer response:** Thanks Rich! We will be adding both Furigana and word categories in a future update, so stay tuned.

### 5/5 — Nice reminder to study

*2024-01-10*

I’ve been using this alongside my self-study materials for Korean and it’s great! Even though it’s called Daily Word you can get 2 extra words to study in the app if you swipe left.

I showed this app to my Korean friend and he commented that the example sentences sounded natural as well.

Get the widget for the home screen, it’s a must have!

**Developer response:** Glad to hear Daily Word has been useful for you! Feel free to send any feedback for improving the app to support@dailywordapp.com.

### 5/5 — Great app for building vocabulary

*2024-01-10*

Can’t emphasize enough how much Daily Word has helped me improve my Spanish. The home widget in particular is super helpful for staying consistent with my learning. I also like the fact that the daily words aren’t textbook examples and include expressions and slang. Unlike other apps, it also gives you multiple options based on your level. Look forward to learning other languages in the future

**Developer response:** This is great to hear, CPuff! We'll definitely be adding more languages to learn in the future. For now, the app includes Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and English.

### 5/5 — Actually helpful for learning

*2024-01-02*

Sometimes the basics work best. This app essentially gives you a few words per day to learn with definitions and examples. The best part is the Home Screen widget. Without that I’d probably forget to check it every day. I get overwhelmed with all the complicated Spanish learning apps. I just wanted to build my vocabulary slowly and this is perfect. Also fits with my New Year’s resolution to spend at least 5 minutes every day practicing Spanish 👌.

### 5/5 — Simple and awesome

*2023-12-27*

The app is surprisingly good. I’m probably intermediate Spanish level so I find it fun to build vocabulary. I love the home screen widget that reminds me of the new daily word (I think it updates in the early mornings?). The words I’ve seen so far are actually ones you can use in conversation and not boring. Also some don’t have a direct English translation. Like one of today’s words was desentranar, which means to explain something complicated. Wish we had a word like that 🤣.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Used to be so good

*2026-02-19*

The app doesn’t automatically update everyday with a new word for the widget. I have to open the app for the word to change. If i don’t then it just stays on a single word, unchanged. Now its saying i have no new words and i should come back later, but still nothing

### 1/5 — Mistakes

*2025-04-19*

This app might be using literal translation (AI?) and might be grammatically incorrect. Just got a new word “sed” and the app gave an example “senti sed” which is incorrect I believe… as sed is to be used with “tengo sed”. Please use with the grain of salt. It’s a beautiful app and I hope developers can improve the correctness.

### 2/5 — I can’t see the word!

*2024-01-19*

The program is not adapting to the size of my iPhone 13 mini and therefore I can not see the full word as it is covered up by the panel below it

**Developer response:** Hey John, sorry for the late response! We fixed this issue a while ago. Please try updating to the latest version (now called Wordia) and let us know if that fixes it.

### 3/5 — Accuracy

*2024-02-06*

The app is clean, simple, and easy to use. The widget is a big selling point too. However, the words, definitions, and example sentences are obviously AI-driven. Every couple of days, I’ll notice at least one strange error. I think they just need to refine the AI training model they’re using (at least for Korean).

**Developer response:** Hi Matthew, thanks for your feedback. Would you mind emailing the next error you see to support@dailywordapp.com? All of our content is created or reviewed by a real person, so we'd like to figure out where the errors are happening.

### 3/5 — Interesting concept but…

*2024-01-11*

I like the idea behind this app. However, I think the Japanese mode needs an optional Furigana display option rather than it only displaying only the Kanji. Please add Furigana above the daily words’ Kanji spelling!

**Developer response:** Hi there, thanks for the feedback! We'll be adding Furigana in the near future. For now, we've added Kana to the beginning of definitions for all Japanese words. Hopefully this helps in the meantime.

### 4/5 — Not auto refreshing everyday

*2025-11-12*

4 star review right now, great app. If I can find out how to make the widget refresh on my phone screen without opening the app, I would it 5

### 4/5 — Best app

*2025-01-30, version 1.5.27*

Love everything about it. Specially the widget, so I can remind myself everyday without annoying notifications
The only bad thing is you can’t see all three words on the widget and you can’t choose which one to show either

### 4/5 — Super fun

*2024-08-04*

I’m enjoying learning new words and their meanings. I just wish you could go back to ones you did already if you forgot to save it as a favorite.

**Developer response:** Good to hear, Brandy! We plan to add a word history feature in the future. Feel free to let us know about any other improvements you'd like to see at support@wordia.me.

### 4/5 — Great app but can’t use bookmark feature

*2024-05-13*

I really like this app, I’ve been studying Spanish for a while but I’m still pretty beginner, so this helps me get some daily practice with different vocabulary. One issue I’m having is that my bookmarked vocabulary aren’t showing. It worked at first, but I think after updating it won’t show me anything I’ve bookmarked, either before or since. ### 4/5 — Falta furigana en japonés

*2024-04-17, version 1.4.3*

Comencé a usar la app para el japonés pero el furigana sólo está en la palabra o frase del día y no en el ejemplo. Me gustaría que tuviera una opción para agregar el furigana en el ejemplo también, ya que hay palabras que no consigo leer. Gracias

### 5/5 — App goes from strength to strength

*2024-08-02, version 1.5.16*

I have been with this app since it started I believe and I’ve always enjoyed it but it has definitely got better since its inception. In the early days I often found I was getting the same words sent out to me on rotation, or so it appeared. I did bring this to the attention of the makers and I’m pleased to say they appear to have listened: it’s been a long time now since I’ve received the same word and this means most days I have three new words to learn and I usually enjoy learning the words that have been selected: they provide an interesting addition to my Spanish vocabulary. I also think the app looks great and is easy to use. I like some of the new features like being able to record my pronunciation and play it back as well as getting it marked by experts. Overall this is one of a handful of apps that I just really enjoy opening up each day to find out what they’ll teach me next.
