New update has a robot feature so you don’t even need a friend to play with! What sets this game apart from WWF and Scrabble is building “bridges“ which lets you flex your brain in a different way. Wordiamo allows for the strategy of these other board games, but rewards playing longer words and being more creative with your letters. The game is also much less about being lucky (like drawing a few high value tiles) so skill and strategy are front and center. The game also has great minimalist design. It has an entirely new dynamic with the islands and bridges. Building and connecting islands can dramatically shift the tide of a game... It's a challenge to use them well and simultaneously try to defend against your opponent doing the same. There’s also improved sharing via messages. I really like the fact that the free version has ads but they don’t interfere with game play and there is no timer or energy meter mechanic to limit the number of turns you can play in one session. It’s nice that you can play against a robot or other people. There are some unique and creative ways to increase the score of the word you play like building islands and bridges to connect words, and these make it quite fun.
