## What is WordNex?

Scan an English word with your camera, understand its meaning, and follow its connections to discover more.

SCAN AND LOOK UP
Point the camera at printed English text for a quick definition. Freeze the view, read text from a photo, or type a word to search. Correct recognized text when needed.

EXPLORE THE WORD MAP
Start from a specific meaning and navigate connected words. Explore synonyms, opposites, broader and more specific meanings, word families, parts, members, materials, causes, and implications where available. Follow your navigation path, go back and forward, and switch between Map and List.

READ AND LISTEN
Explore definitions, examples, and parts of speech in readable entries. Listen to words and definitions, adjust reading size, and use light or dark appearance. Multilingual equivalents from Open Multilingual Wordnet help you explore English vocabulary; coverage varies by language and meaning.

KEEP YOUR DISCOVERIES
Save individual meanings and named exploration trails. Reopen a trail to continue exploring, or share a trail as a PDF. A wider iPad layout keeps the map and reading pane together.

WORKS ON YOUR DEVICE
Dictionary lookup and image text recognition work offline. No account is required. Optional voice input needs an available on-device English speech-recognition model.

ABOUT THE DICTIONARY
English content is based on Princeton WordNet 3.0, with multilingual resources from Open Multilingual WordNet. WordNet focuses on nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. It is not a complete dictionary of every English word, and translated definitions are not available for every meaning. Camera recognition depends on focus, lighting, and text clarity.

WordNet attribution and dictionary licenses are available in the app's acknowledgements.

Improved Fuzzy Search 
    * To search for a word, simply type a few letters of the word, omitting any letters you don't remember from the word. Fuzzy Search will show all words including the letters you type.
        For example, a search for "consctive" shows "consecutive", "constrictive", "constructive", "reconstructive", "vasoconstrictive", and so on.
    * The word classes (noun, verb, adj, adv, etc.) of each searched word are displayed under the search results.
