### 2/5 — Charges you immediately

*2026-08-29, version 4.7.0*

Says it will give you seven day free trial but I got charged immediately on accepting the “free” trial

### 2/5 — Mastery is too Easy

*2026-08-12, version 4.6.37*

I initially really enjoyed this app because I felt like I was genuinely learning new words. However, when I looked through the list of words I had supposedly “mastered,” I realized that I couldn’t recall the definitions of many of them.

I think the synonym-matching system is a little too easy, especially because many of the other synonym options are words I’ve never encountered before. This makes it easy to choose the correct answer based on visual familiarity rather than actually knowing the word. As a result, I feel like my “mastery” of a word can sometimes be based on recognizing the answer rather than truly understanding it.

Because of this, I think it would be helpful to add another step before a word can be considered “mastered.” What seems to work best for me is the sentence-completion game because it requires me to actually use the word in context, which I think is necessary to genuinely say that I know a word.

I also have a suggestion for the sentence-completion game itself. I don’t find it as constructive to see a list of all the answers I got right or wrong at the end, because it doesn’t give me the opportunity to reinforce each word individually. I think that, regardless of whether you get an answer right or wrong, the next screen should show the definition of the word you were looking for as a refresher, similar to how the synonym game works. I also wouldn’t mind seeing the definitions of the other incorrect options, as that could help reinforce those words as well.

If these changes were implemented, I would genuinely be a customer for life. Other than that, I highly enjoy the app and think it has a lot of potential.

### 2/5 — “Free” Trial

*2026-08-02, version 4.6.37*

Expensive app and locks in your card info for a free trial, renewing for over $50! Nope, not worth it.

### 1/5 — Still needs work

*2026-07-30, version 4.6.37*

I knew all the words on my first try but it gave me a 9/20 so I tried to cancel and get a refund but they don’t answer.

### 3/5 — It’s okay

*2026-07-28, version 4.6.37*

Although a definition is provided for each word, the app also needs to provide an etymology for each.
It also needs to quickly remove words I do know. I feel as though I keep wading through words that I have already mastered to get to those I don’t know, and I can’t see a way to upgrade the difficulty of my current level setting so that I can be introduced to more words that I might actually not know yet.
Great idea but needs more work for my needs.

### 2/5 — Underwhelming

*2026-07-28, version 4.6.37*

It’s so boring even the practices and games.

### 1/5 — Repetitive

*2026-07-28, version 4.6.37*

Uses the same words in every single game. Boring!

### 2/5 — Underdeveloped

*2026-07-27, version 4.6.37*

Why can I not just study the word I want to study, the word I bookmark, I know what I want to learn I don’t want to waste my time on word I’d never use.

### 1/5 — Fraud Annual Subscription

*2026-07-24, version 4.6.37*

They charged me for an annual subscription without any notice. I didn’t get notification, didn’t approve anything - absolutely nothing. Really disappointing.

### 1/5 — Not a free app

*2026-07-24, version 4.6.37*

Immediately asks to approve a subscription (after a trial) before actually providing any functionality.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Payment!

*2026-08-29, version 4.7.0*

DO NOT FALL FOR IT! IT SAYS NO PAYMENT FOR 7 DAYS BUT TAKES $19.99 OUT YOUR ACCOUNT!

### 1/5 — Shady business practice

*2026-08-24, version 4.6.37*

I downloaded this because I saw an ad for the game and it looked like it was really cool. It was when I downloaded and realized that they placed you on a trial that you need a reminder to cancel or they’re gonna charge you for and I’m like what I don’t even understand why I should pay for a game like this in the first place, so not only that, but I think it’s crazy that they would put you in danger of having to pay for the membership if the trial runs out so I wanted to have nothing to do with this app and deleted it immediately.

### 1/5 — Can’t cancel it

*2026-08-23, version 4.6.37*

I want it canceled now

### 1/5 — Literal slop garbage.

*2026-08-23, version 4.6.37*

If you do not subscribe to pay them, you’re bombarded with screens offering discount after discount and you can never get past them until you accept one. What a literal bunch of slop.

### 1/5 — Scam!

*2026-08-12, version 4.6.37*

I was not told this was a subscription! I tried it, didn’t like it, and thought that was it!

### 1/5 — DO NOT SUPPORT!!!! BEWARE OF FREE TRIAL OFFERS

*2026-08-12, version 4.6.37*

DO NOT OPT FOR ANY FREE TRIALS!!! This app offers a seven day free trial. When you cancel within the seven days they will immediately offer you another free trial and then charge you $59.99 for a yearly subscription and Apple Services will deny your refund requests and tell you that the app only offers one seven day free trial, despite the fact the app offered you two and then charged you immediately during the second acceptance of the offer. It’s FRAUD!!!

### 1/5 — Not Free

*2026-08-11, version 4.6.37*

The app isn’t actually “free”. Once you’re in, you can’t actually use it until you put in a credit card.

### 1/5 — Charges without notice

*2026-08-04, version 4.6.37*

I downloaded this App because it looked interesting I got busy and never went into it. It auto charged me through Apple and my PayPal account.

### 1/5 — Cost too much money

*2026-08-01, version 4.6.37*

Cost too much money

### 1/5 — Please disconnect me!

*2026-08-01, version 4.6.37*

I’m sorry, I do not want your product

### 5/5 — Wonderful use of your time!

*2026-08-14, version 4.6.37*

This app is enjoyable to use. Everyday you are quizzed on previously seen words while throwing in a tattering of new words. It’s just challenging enough without being overwhelming. There are games allowing you to test your understanding better and reinforcing what you’ve already learned. I’m on 52 straight days since purchasing the application and look forward to completing my word task every morning with my coffee. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Great practice

*2026-08-11, version 4.6.37*

I use this app because I'm nerdy and like to test myself. I think it would be very helpful for people who have to take a test like the SAT.

### 5/5 — Just what I needed

*2026-07-30, version 4.6.37*

Been using this the past few months, doing 100 words a night and the range of words available on this is stunning. would love featured on etymology, also would be cool to see or group words with similar definitions.
Honestly I'd say worth the money because of the range and convenience
