However, why are we only able to get a viewer. I like using WP and would like to have more of a full program that would allow for printing, conversion to PDF, saving and editing files, etc. Why is this program limited to only being a viewer. It is nice to have it but the lack of functionality makes me needing to use a Word document program. Corel Corp needs to provide for an app that will encourage people to use WPD on a regular basis! ### 2/5 — PJ *2013-06-04, version 3.2* Ok except it won't permit me to open password protected files. Tables and graphics are in the wrong place, layouts are all wrong. WordPerfect has been my processor of choice since 1983 because it does what I want to do, not what Mr. Gates thinks I should do. I hope Corel can find a way for me to work in the mobile world. It doesn't seem to matter what point size the original file was in, it comes up way too small now! I can zoom but then I have to move back and forth to read the document. It used to rescale the document when I blew it up. And we are just the attorney's to take them on. ### 1/5 — Fake App *2012-03-20, version 1.0* WARNING: It's not a true viewer. All it does is convert a WPD to HTML so the regular iPhone viewer can display it. I expected a REAL viewer like we have for Word. I've been a loyal WP user since 1985 and I have resisted switching to Word. I guess it's time to give up on WP. They can't handle it. Furthermore, even their lame converter doesn't integrate with other apps. For example, I access a WPD file via Dropbox, then tap it to view and it says I have no viewer installed. Of course if I tap a Word doc, I get a viewer. So, after paying seven bucks for a viewer, my iPad says I don't have one. And I agree! HOW DO I GET A REFUND! ### 1/5 — Not worth the trouble *2012-01-15, version 1.0* I have used WP for over twenty years... now I need WP for my iPad. This is a reader, but it only allow certain portions of a document to be read, and it scrambles much of the page at times. Corel, get on the stick and catch up with technology. I shudder to think I'll be using MS Word! ### 1/5 — Garbage *2011-12-28, version 1.0* don't buy this, it is total garbage ### 1/5 — Not worth a Penny *2011-11-28, version 1.0* Against my better judgment, I purchased this app. After installation and testing, It simply didn't work; it didn't do anything; did not open any wpd document; no error msg, just....NOTHING. I looked in the mirror to see if on my forehead there was a sign that said: STUPID. Ugh! I deleted and re-downloaded the app to no avail. The track record of WordPerfect since the MSDOS version was sadly very low in the area or research and development, hence, dysfunctional customer care (more correctly- - lack thereof). The previous reviews were not encouraging, and I should have stopped there. To improve the image of WordPerfect/Corel, I suggest giving a "Lite" version, and allow users to download up to 5 documents for testing purposes. Uh-HUH...it works, THEN charge the $5.99. Or could it be that Corel is desperate for money, and this is one way to charge customers little amounts, thinking customers would just say: Forget it? I wonder. ### 1/5 — Wordperfect Viewer does not work *2011-08-29, version 1.0* I had the predecessor "WPD Viewer" by the original developer. It worked the last time I used it a couple months ago by touching .wpd attachments and opening them in the app. I tried that today and it failed to work, with the iPad mail app indicating that it could not open the attachment. I paid for the new app now owned by Corel and tried it.....same result. This is a total waste unless Corel and/or Apple arrange(s) for exporting from the mail app. ### 2/5 — No Support *2011-08-25, version 1.0* No local help menu and when I emailed help per the app prompt, the message bounced back as undeliverable. Cannot wipe documents selectively, so i have three of the same document. Absolutely. It has virtually no correlation to its own user manual, should be removed, in good faith, from the app store. I could find an option to link my Google drive or OneDrive. If this were a free app it wouldn't be quite so disappointing. But it isn't free. Next time... don't update if you can't do it right. ### 1/5 — New Updates *2012-12-23, version 3.0* The new update does not allow the adjustment of font size without having to move back and forth. As one who uses this app for speaking notes, this has made this app pretty useless! Please bring back the old settings ASAP. Until then, I have to find a new app that allows font size adjustments. Bad move, Corel! ### 1/5 — Worse than the old app *2012-12-21* I use Wordperfect as my main word processor and sometimes speak from a text I have placed in drop box. I enlarge the text. Well I did. I can't now the text enlarge feature has gone!!!! At least you can now access your drop box direct from the application. Well no I can't I just get an error message every time I try to allow it. If you're a lawyer, the necessity for this app is obvious. I juggle my iPhone and iPad through two charges a piece per day...love this so much. ### 4/5 — Works as it claims *2014-01-20, version 4.2* I was overseas with my iPad and needed some files in my Dropbox created in WordPerfect. I was able to go to my Dropbox account and get it. As the description says, it does not retain much formatting (such as outlining). It got me out of a jam and was definitely worth the price. The only problem I had was that it doesn't list my old WP files that don't have .wpd as the extension. Earlier versions of WP didn't use it. But I was able to go into my Dropbox account and modify the file name by adding the .wpd extension, and then I could open most of them. This was what I've been looking for! ### 4/5 — Each update is an improvement!! Thanks *2013-04-07, version 3.2* The team is taking steps in the right direction! Thank you for fixing the highlight feature. Question: will we ever be able to highlight within the app? Would be handy - so as to not go back to PC to add highlight. ### 4/5 — Fulfills its Purpose! *2011-11-26* This app fulfills a missing link. It enables me to open and view my WordPerfect documents on my iOS devices (iPhone4S and iPad2). Although you cannot edit the document on an iOS device, you can cut and paste. As such, it is a very very useful app. ### 4/5 — Just needs one thing... *2011-04-04, version 1.0* I've only opened a few of my hundreds of Word Perfect documents but I haven't encountered a single problem. It was certainly a lot easier than trying to convert every one of them! The only other thing I need to really make this app useful is the ability to sort documents into folders. ### 4/5 — Works, not all applications recognize *2011-02-09* This works great from hotmail attachments, exporting option awesome. The wp viewer is not recognized by first-class email which is frustrating, but this could be a first class issue. Overall it is a good program. ### 3/5 — Just Okay *2011-09-11* I was so excited to find a WP viewer for my iPad that I purchased & installed it without reading up on it. I wish I had. I was disappointed to discover that it won't open a WP attachment in FirstClass... my work email which is the only one where I would ever receive a WP attachment. I found a viable workaround. I just forward the FC email to my gmail acct. & the document will open fine from there. The extra steps are a drag, though. I hope this gets addressed in a future update. If it does, I'll come back & up it's star quotient. ### 3/5 — It's a reader not an editor *2011-01-18, version 1.0* Ok Corel. One year later and you finally bring and App to the IPad that can read the documents I receive\create. How much longer are we going to have to wait for an actual editor? Nothing fancy. Just something that allows me to edit typos. Thx. ### 2/5 — Won't view all extensions *2013-09-20, version 3.2* I was very dismayed to find that I can only view .wpd extensions. WP allows us to create our own extensions and, in fact, creates .frm, .add, bk!, .wcm and others but won't even view those extensions, let alone ones the user creates. This makes this product almost useless to this dedicated WP user. I am trying to access WP files by Open In through Carbonite where all of my customer files are backed up. I want to be able to view a file to see if it is the correct file to email to a customer but I can only view .wpd files. All others say" No installed apps can open this file." Please let WPD Viewer view any file created by WordPerfect, not just .wpd extensions. Also, a way to create simple WP files would be nice. I despise using Word. ### 2/5 — Limited viewer.... *2013-08-19, version 3.2* Limited viewer can only export as HTML. I want to be able to have more formats to process with such as Goodreader. Bottom line is that this is the only app for WordPerfect and it is very limited.
