Silly, caused unneeded confusion and makes me regret recommending Wordpress to them. ### 2/5 — No longer able to upload images *2026-05-29, version 26.8* No longer able to upload images l, always fails with invalid response from the jetpack site. Same with the Jetpack app. ### 1/5 — Worst site builder to ever exist. *2026-05-25, version 26.8* Don’t get WordPress unless you want to die from rage and frustration. I got the premium subscription on my Mac and so far all it’s done is delete pages I’ve spent hours on with no way to restore them. The page will claim it has “restored” a saved version after messing everything up just to backtrack and say there are no saved versions two seconds later. Editing the website cannot be anymore confusing, there’s no button to even CHANGE THE COLOR of the page unless you do it through the AI chatbot which will 100% end up messing up another part of your site that you will then spend 5 hours trying to undo. Additionally, even if you somehow manage to find the button for editing the formatting of a block or whatever else, you will find yourself UNABLE to do so because some dumb global feature (or whatever they call it) has locked the freaking code into the system. And you guessed it, there’s no button to undo that either. God knows how the hell they haven’t went bankrupt. ### 4/5 — Not working *2026-05-23, version 26.8* Things going well until I tried to Preview and it didn’t do anything all it asked for was it couldn’t be found my thing couldn’t be found and then I tried it again and again and again and it keeps saying the same thing over and over again and it’s just not working. It was very great when you make website it does stuff but when it didn’t do anything when I tried to Preview so yeah. ### 1/5 — Italic has been broken for years *2026-05-22, version 26.8* How is it wordpress can spin out brilliant, elegant new editing models, version after version, but cannot fix simple bugs that have persisted now for YEARS? Can you please fix the bug that makes italics stop working? Yes, this is a problem with the classic editor. I know WP wants us to stop using classic editor. It probably wants us to stop blogging altogether, and instead switch to crafting fabulous marketing sites, in accordance with its new mission. But some of us -- the most loyal of us -- your oldest customers! -- still use WP as a blogging platform. For us, block editing is an unwelcome complication that distracts us without offering any benefit at all. The classic editor is what we need -- if only someone would bother debugging it. Is it really too much to ask for an italics feature that actually works? Pretty please? ### 1/5 — Unable to upload photos after latest iOS update *2026-04-01, version 26.7* iOS 26.3.1 - I can no longer upload photos via the app. They are not too big. They are jpg. There is no problem with my server. I *am* able to upload via browser on same device. The only thing that has changed after years of using this app is the iOS update. Tried to reconnect multiple times. ### 1/5 — Money scamming app *2026-03-19, version 26.7* This is definitely the worst app for creating a website. I previously tried it and switched to GoDaddy, which helped me set up my simple site. I thought I could upgrade, but that turned out to be a huge mistake. The app lures you in with low prices, but once you're in, they charge for everything. It feels like a scam, especially since it's based in Singapore, and the experience has been frustrating and deceitful. I'm really regretting my decision now. ### 3/5 — Disappointing *2026-03-15, version 26.7* Please remove the band saying “Made with Wordpress, start your website here” It’s lame asf and annoying. 43% of websites are made with this, we don’t need you to advertise more do we? ### 1/5 — Endless Login Cycle *2026-03-13, version 26.7* I open the app and try to log in. It says to do it via WordPress.com.and opens my browser. I enter my details and it emails me a link. The email logs me in on my browser. The app is still not logged in. Repeat ad infinitum. ### 1/5 — Random question marks *2026-03-10, version 26.7* The stupid bug in this release of Wordpress is profuse and random insertion of question marks throughout the text. It is infuriating and distracting. Congratulations, Wordpress, you have invented yet another way to redirect attention from what I am trying to write to what you care about: the Wordpress app. Once again I will beg Wordpress to slow things down. Test. Debug. Concept test. Usability test. Re-debug. We don't need insane release cycles. We need longer cycles that are carefully thought through, crafted, tested. We need a good user experience, not a high-velocity, spastic avalanche of ill-conceived, buggy, perpetually improving and perpetually broken, mismanaged product. ### 1/5 — Custom Code - in Page Editor Gone? *2026-03-07, version 26.7* What was Wordpress thinking, any real coding is done in Custom Code. This update is useless if I can’t code into the page. Wordpress app already had this option. Now it doesn’t. Thank you! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Bad customer service *2026-08-14, version 27.1* I have my email and password and I’m trying to update my phone number and there’s literally no one and nothing that will help me update my phone number. It’s set on sending the two factor authentication codes to an old phone number. No one‘s reaching out to me. Then they want to use an AI Chatbot to try and solve problems and serve actually hiring a person. They want proof that I am who I say I am but I have the email and phone number. They want me to provide a purchase through WordPress when this is a free app I’m not sure how that would work. ### 1/5 — Not able to connect to self hosted sites *2026-08-03, version 27.1* So despite logging the fault, trying all the things requested, providing more screen shots, the problem still persists. I noticed an update released today with no mention of addressing the self hosted site issue. Direct support have advised “it’s a known bug and we’re working on it”, but still no timeline or proposed completion. Not good service. ### 1/5 — ENDLESS BOT LOOPS *2026-08-02, version 27.0* I have spent the last week getting wrong answers from a BOT. WordPress used to be a decent tool for managing content on the go. When you try to get actual help, you get trapped in a perpetual loop of useless AI chatbots, outdated support docs, and automated email responses that don't even address the issue you asked about. Wordpress and Jetpack is automated stonewalling. For a platform powering a huge chunk of the internet, hiding behind a wall of bots while taking people’s money is disgraceful. Save yourself the headache and use a platform that actually values its users. Pros: None anymore. Cons: Zero human support, endless bot loops, ### 1/5 — Please fix your bugs *2026-07-26, version 27.0* It would be so competent of y'all if you'd fix some of these old bugs before further bloating your feature set. Italics still randomly stops working. ### 1/5 — Not able to connect to self hosted sites *2026-07-15, version 27.0* Despite the note about self-hosted sites now needing a password to connect, after the latest Wordpress update it is no longer possible to connect to some self hosted sites and o-one seems to know what the fix is. Here’s an idea offer a version rollback option until a fix is released after full testing. Liaising with the support team there is a known bug in the app for iOS, but no timeline or resolution. All you can do is log a ticket and wait for someone to fix it. It is such a shame that software releases are not properly tested before release. ### 1/5 — Not able to connect to self hosted sites *2026-07-05, version 27.0* After the latest Wordpress update it is no longer possible to connect to self hosted sites. This bug has persisted for years, through several major redesigns. I have uninstalled and reinstalled wordpress on multiple devices. The most basic of text editing features still does not work properly. You all should be ashamed of this.
