It is incredibly distracting and downright rude of the advertiser. I have to shield my eyes by covering it. ### 4/5 — Notifications of next play not working *2026-07-13* My friend and I play Words by post all the time and it will intermittently once she plays will not Notify me that she has played so that I can play and then when I play it won’t notify her that it’s her turn and it could be anywhere from an hour to six hours before we finally get at work and we don’t know what it is that we’re doing that’s making that happen. I have turned my phone off and on. I just deleted the app and reinstalled it again and I’m still getting the same there must be some kind of bug or something because I have notification on for this game ### 2/5 — Ads *2026-01-19, version 1.7.5* I know you probably get $$$ from ads to keep the app going, but the inappropriate ad content ruin the experience for me. But! *2025-06-03* I have been playing this game for many years and it still remains my favourite word game however for players security and safety, it would be great for a "blocking players" button to be included within the game to stop nuisance players with unwanted and unwelcome chat and some players using obscene words, even if you resign the game(which you shouldn't have to) you could be rematch with a nuisance player again. please add a blocking button. ### 3/5 — Very buggy app *2025-04-27* I’ve really enjoyed playing this game for many years but it’s clear that it’s no longer being updated and it’s become very buggy. Notifications no longer appear when an opponent has played (despite checking and re-checking my settings, and even reinstalling the app entirely), and I often get error messages to say that games have become corrupted. It’s such a shame that the app is being left to deteriorate to the point it’s becoming unplayable. ### 4/5 — Good game but…… *2024-08-10* So in general it’s a good game but sometimes you put a word in and it says it’s not a word when it is. ### 3/5 — Swap tiles function not working *2023-11-06* Swap tiles function not working and hasn’t been working for as long as I’ve been playing (since March 2000). If you select say three tiles to swap, more often than not only two of those tiles will get swapped and the first of the selected tiles to swap simply stays where it is. Very frustrating. Allows some abbreviations but not others but it is only a game so as they say in the USA -whatever. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — I won but they gave points to Clive. *2026-05-23, version 1.7.5* I was 300 points ahead of Clive so when I won, instead of their giving me maybe 20 points, they gave him around 100 points for losing to me. Multiple turns with all vowels or all consonants making it impossible to make a play. So many cheaters… those who use word finders. There should be a way to block players and/or report the cheaters. These people are exploiting a bug. How old is this app and the games still won’t expire. They are making one move then not playing until their opponent has to log out and back in to get rid of the useless games, it counts as a loss so they get a higher ranking. If you try to wait it out the app is filled with games that aren’t being played, so you just don’t get to play.
