For recalling my memories, this app is best ever. I’d like to ask one modification for this app. When I add a note in every words, it is sometimes vanished maybe after I use sync button. Can you deal with this defect? ### 3/5 — Best vocab learning app *2026-07-26, version 17.3.4280* I bought lifetime access. I like the most common words lists, best ROI on learning, cool graphics although recently the AI quality got worst. Unique context and use case when teaching each word with simple definitions. After using it for 4 months, I noticed it’s all recognition of words only. It doesn’t have other ways to strengthen that learning. I vibe coded a supplement app using ai to fix this gap. It was so easy! They can easily use ai to add more features. Data is inconsistent! Many times I load and reload and come back to different or same renew words. My saved lists don’t save. There AI is extremely bad and doesn’t have the context of the app. None of the chats with the people in the app matter or help at all. I never use ai to even clarify the difference between to words. I like the way to learn new words through English, helps me understand and remember them more efficiently. One feature I really liked was that, when you search for a word, its rank on your world map will be shown in the popped-up list. This way I can learn the new words that I know from other sources selectively, only focus on those with high rank. Unfortunately after my last update, it disappeared :( It would be really appreciated if you could bring it back!! ### 3/5 — Lag *2026-07-09, version 17.3.4280* There is some lag in the app ### 2/5 — Great potentials and poor reality *2026-06-13* I love the app as a pro user and have learned via it for more than two years. However, there have been a couple of disappointing changes during my experience. For example, the app no longer shows the usage ranking of each word. They have recently replaced pictures with cheap anime generated by Chinese AI. We cannot pick up a word for second (or later) definitions - e.g. I like to memory " gangway" as the second definition of "The area that connects the shore to the ship, where people get on or off the ship", but the app always pick up it only as the first one os "A passage or pathway to walk along". I have fragged such thoughts with the developers, which I always receive a template answer: Thank you for the feedback. **Developer response:** Thank you for your two years of support as a Pro user. The app makes learning new words actually enjoyable instead of feeling like a chore. I’ve picked up several new words in just a short time, and I’m looking forward to expanding my vocabulary even more. Definitely worth checking out if you want to level up your word game! ### 3/5 — Zero improvements in such a long time *2026-03-30* I have kept my five star rating literally for years, and I’ve been using WordUp since right about its launch, but the app seems to have stagnated, while the competition is crushing it. It seems they don’t listen to user feedback at all. Now I rarely even remember that I have a subscription on this app because I only use the vocabulary app by monkeytaps. You guys have refused to take advantage of notification badges to send the words in the user’s collection as notifications, which reminds the user of the word. You’ve refused to take advantage of Home Screen and lock screen badges for daily words or word reminders. With other apps, you’re constantly learning your words both actively and passively, and they keep adding options to gamify the learning experience, and most importantly, they respond to reviews, and you literally get the improvements with new updates. Here, nothing is changing and it’s the same old system of spaced repetition and AI chat, which are amazing, but you can do SOOOOOO MUCH MORE, with the great app you built, but just won’t. PS. I clicked in good faith and was charged right away. No notification, no eligibility check, no heads-up. I contacted support – no reply. Apple refused a refund because the issue is with the app's misleading interface. So the app gets to show a misleading button, take your money, and ignore your requests. My advice: If you have EVER used this app before, do NOT click any "free trial" button. You will be charged instantly. WordUp – please fix your interface. Warn users before charging them. This flag was replaced in 1994 and is widely associated with apartheid and racial oppression. For many South Africans, it is a painful symbol, not a neutral language identifier. Afrikaans is spoken by diverse communities and should not be represented by imagery linked to apartheid.
