Poor customer service both in person and on the phone - put on hold for 59 minutes to find out why my card was not authorized for an $8 prescription only to be told they couldn’t figure it out. You don’t even have tellers in Chelmsford. Workers has been one gigantic headache for both my business and personal. The next town over there much more professional. What I hate is the way everything works mechanically within. I had an overdraft, which was my fault, I paid the overdraft fee, but two weeks later I pay another $25 for a retry fee. It had been two weeks since they paid the bill. Just when I thought I had a couple dollars left to my name I’m down another 25. I just wish it all happened electronically right away so I know what I’m dealing with. Very unpredictable bank. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — A wonderful finanial partner *2026-05-22, version 2026.01* In 2015 we were on the upswing from a bad work/relocation choice that cost us dearly, not the least of which being our ‘big bank’ we were at and trusted had screwed us over with a deposit situation that ‘would take 30 days to clear up’ with zero regard for our tight spot. We needed a second car and had to use a ‘buy here-pay here’ type place. They got us financing through Workers CU. WCU made the process SO incredibly easy, made us feel valued, and while we did have to provide addtl documentation it was all logical stuff within the realm of sanity vs ‘just because’. Most importantly to us at a time where we were reeling from the embarassment of a year of bad choices and VERY difficult times for us - WCU treated us as we were - good people who 95% do the right thing but were in a rough patch. Because of WCU’s approach to our car loan we moved everything over to them, and have been with them 11 happy years now. Things in life change. I really hope WCU isn’t one of them. Thankfully in part to WCU’s way of doing business our financial situation WAS within the next 2 years. They are fantastic about giving you ways to make your money work for you. Their mortgages interest rates are consistently lower than anyone else. They have amazingly high interest rates for checking accounts.
