### 4/5 — Good app but

*2026-02-08, version 2.5.1*

I think this is a great free workout app that’s you create custom workouts and organized by folders. I wished it had iCloud sync so I don’t lose everything if I switch phones

### 4/5 — Great App

*2025-08-26, version 2.5.1*

Affordable simple to use app. Could do with the ability to add an additional exercise during a workout.

### 4/5 — Good App But…

*2025-06-11, version 2.5.1*

I enjoy this app, it’s fairly easy to create and utilize the workout program. I love the ease of building a workout, moving it to a folder and the simplicity of linking super sets, reps and timed rest. My biggest gripe is that I thought there would be a larger data base of exercises to choose from. I’ve had to create and build a ton of my own exercises to mimic a true paper log book. There aren’t a ton of super specific body building exercises in here. Maybe in the future when people are adding exercises they could be reviewed by the creators and added permanently so more people could have access to them on the fly. I also wish that since you’re paying for the app, you didn’t have the paid ads running along the bottom. But, I’m invested in it now, however, and don’t feel like rebuilding all the exercises somewhere else. I’ll stick it out for a while. All in all a good true workout building app.

### 3/5 — Messy

*2025-05-05, version 2.5.1*

First two exercises I searched not there. Front Squats and any form of Rows.

Pass.

### 4/5 — Good a

*2025-01-17, version 2.5.1*

The app looks good, it allows you to create your own workouts, or use samples already set up. However, my main goal was to create my own workouts, log progression and share the workout with others, as the initial planning can be time consuming. Share button is available, just doesn’t work.

I’d like to be able to rename the saved exercises or add pictures without copying them, as this deletes all of the guide and general info on that exercise (which then needs to be typed in again).

### 2/5 — Ads despite paying for a subscription?

*2025-01-13, version 2.5.1*

I like the app so far but I’m disappointed to find the UI is crowded with ads despite paying for the app. Beware.

### 3/5 — Share workout

*2024-11-09, version 2.5.1*

Can share some workout and other can’t. I don’t know why.

### 5/5 — LOVE LOVE LOVE

*2024-09-17, version 2.5.1*

Nothing but positive things to say about this app! Easy to use, customizable, so much so you can add any workout or exercise yourself. My favourite part is the “workout summary” after your workout that tells you the total weight moved. You can enter different weights or reps throughout the set and add notes anytime to any individual move or full workouts. As someone who is just returning to the gym and fitness and needs structure a plan and motivation; I appreciate this app!

### 4/5 — Great app and responsive to a help question

*2024-08-27, version 2.5.1*

I started using to create my own workouts and now my entire family uses it. We were having trouble sharing workouts with each other and Corey quickly responded and helped me.

### 4/5 — Sync Option (?)

*2024-08-15, version 2.5.1*

Is there a sync option so I can open my workouts that were created on my MacBook Pro with my iPad Pro? I’ll happily change to 5 stars when this is available if it isn’t already.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2024-07-22, version 2.5.1*

Just what I was looking for! Thank you for making this app, I was having trouble finding one that would allow me to customize my workouts and that had a great design - you did it! Is there a way to link to videos on the internet for exercises that aren't in the database?

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2024-03-26, version 2.5.1*

Used BodyFit for awhile and was disappointed that I couldn’t customize workouts. This app does all I needed from BodyFit and more, for free! Would love a paid option to remove the (minimal) ads you see.

### 5/5 — Finally! A workout app that makes sense!

*2024-02-22, version 2.5.1*

I love the customization and how it’s not a monthly subscription either. Just a one time fee of $1.99 to remove the ads. I’ve been working out for a long time and finally found an app that can support my custom exercises and workouts!

### 5/5 — Checks all the boxes

*2024-01-06, version 2.5.1*

I haven’t added a workout yet but that’s the best part. My wife created workouts from her personal training sessions and can share them with me. Once you receive (or input) a workout, the app works flawlessly. Absolutely no downsides. I paid for ad free to support the very intentional and well thought out app that has everything that I was paying a personal trainer for through her app. This will support beginners through higher levels of training.

### 4/5 — Huge fan!

*2024-01-01*

So far, I’m super impressed with the features of this app. It is so intuitive and easy to set up custom workouts which was my biggest concern. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because I wanted to share the workouts I created with my husband and the link that sends doesn’t work 😞 (although easy to set them up, it does take a little time). If that feature was fixed this app would easily be 5 stars. Regardless, if you want to set up your own workouts and keep track of your progress, download THIS app!

**Developer response:** Hi Wombat! Sharing links can be a little tricky. Airdrop is the easiest and should import automatically. If you send a link, your husband will have to open it, then tap the share button (rectangle with arrow coming out), and find Workout Maker in the “more apps” section. Once he finds it, the workout should import. If it isn’t working, email at workout.maker.contact@gmail.com and we’ll get it figured out.

### 4/5 — Great app just what I needed!

*2023-10-29, version 2.5.1*

I really like this as we helps understand more about the exercises I’ve been doing, but the only thing would be much helpful is to allow upload short videos so we can have a better view and understanding of the trainings and exercise please?? Thank you!

### 5/5 — Everything I’ve been looking for

*2023-09-13, version 2.5.1*

Seriously, it’s so well set up and works so intuitively. It’s everything I’ve been looking for. You can still listen to music while it plays through your workout and the volume of the voice prompts doesn’t mean you have to adjust your music volume. Getting myself to the gym seems to always be a challenge for various reasons, one being following a program I’m not engaged with because they’re not all exercises I feel I need to do and prefer to create my own, but had no simple way of doing it and just end up faffing around. This app takes away that challenge and inspires me to go because I know all I have to do is press play on the workout I want and that I’ve created and I’m away. I hope it stays accessible and I can continue to use it for a long time!

### 3/5 — Love it, but …

*2023-08-17, version 2.5.1*

I love making my routines but I cannot copy them to another device, as advertised. Definitely a much needed feature.

In addition, the instructions say you can edit an included exercise by copying it first and then editing. Not so. It empties all the fields and images. Same with workouts.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesnt work

*2024-01-02, version 2.5.1*

The premise is good, but it just doesn’t work.
The user interface is a mess and clunky, but workable. The idea is smart, but the backend is not properly configured. You get random exercises even if you select the muscle groups you’re interested in. Selecting the available equipment doesnt do anything either, it will just give you whatever it wants.

### 1/5 — Ads lock up app

*2023-05-15, version 2.5.1*

Great app for customizing own workouts but wow, half of the pop up ads lock you out of the app requiring one to have to delete and reinstall. Not worth the hassle. Look elsewhere.

### 1/5 — So close

*2023-04-24, version 2.5.1*

This app is so close to perfect but it just keeps crashing!!!

### 1/5 — Not worth it!

*2023-01-15, version 2.5.1*

Really disappointed with a lot about this app. Super limited exercise database; app crashes a lot so it’s hard to ever finish or log a workout; difficult and not intuitive to edit or add exercises. Will be cancelling my subscription and finding something else.

### 1/5 — Ads

*2022-12-21, version 2.5.1*

It’s adware. By Google no less. Garbage to me.

### 1/5 — LOVE the idea

*2022-07-19, version 2.5.1*

It works great on my mac but my new iphone... it crashes all the time its so frustrating!!! I really love that you can make your own custom workouts and just wish it would run!

### 1/5 — Scheduling Bug

*2022-07-03, version 2.5.1*

The scheduling is bugged on my phone. I don’t know if this is specific to: my phone, iOS, or my type of phone.
User interface leaves something to be desired. The tutorials were very helpful, but I found the a couple aspects of the design to be unintuitive.
An otherwise great product! If the bug was not an issue this app would be 5 stars.

### 1/5 — The app will not let you share workouts with friends

*2020-04-30, version 1.0.12*

This app says that you are about to creat and share workouts with friends. I have been trying to share my workout with my friends to we can do it together of Corentine and it is not working. It keeps giving a dear link or a file that is dead and can’t be opened.
Pease fix this it is the only reason I got this app!!

### 1/5 — Way too complicated

*2019-10-10, version 1.0.9*

Looks like there are plenty of options but good luck trying to figure out how to use an of them. All I want is to exercise by time ONLY. For some dumb reason this app makes you set everything (reps, distance, etc). Why?

### 2/5 — Lots of fixes needed

*2025-01-27, version 2.5.1*

I really wanted to love this. I love the ease of it and if it’s just for you it’s great. I was hoping to plan workouts with my sister so we could keep eachother accountable even on the days we can’t go to the gym together. The share feature doesn’t work. The app crashes every time I try to share it and crashes frequently with other things as well. Seems like there’s lots of fixes that need to happen. Once those fixes happen I feel like this could be a game changer for so many people.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best workout log ever

*2026-06-10, version 2.5.1*

My favorite for years. Thanks. Mi favorita por años. Gracias

### 5/5 — Love this app!!!

*2025-08-01, version 2.5.1*

This app is easy to use, helps you track and create workouts flawlessly. I love it bc I can listen to music and use the app at the same time. It’s very customizable which is great. Overall 10/10 from meh!

### 5/5 — Good, could do slight improvements

*2025-06-05, version 2.5.1*

Good app, works well. Could do with a few improvements to make it better. Eg EMOM ability, AMRAP - eg unlimited circuits based on a total workout time, ability to easily finish workout partway through for those busy days. Otherwise it is well put together and pairs well with AI if you use GPT for workout programming.

Update: the developer responded to my review and these functions are possible! Great service from them and a functional app. I’ll definitely pay for this to remove ads now.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I was looking for

*2025-01-15, version 2.5.1*

I love this app! I just prep my routine before I got to the gym and it’s all a breeze from there. It keeps track of time for me, calculates my total workout and has explanations for each exercise. It’s made going to the gym much more efficient. I only have a limited amount of time I can dedicate to working out so this has been a life-saver. Definitely recommend!

### 5/5 — Best workout app… And I’ve tried them all.

*2025-01-04, version 2.5.1*

This is the most fully featured, useful workout app I have found. And I’ve tried a dozen of them.
A big thank you to the developer who created it. It’s phenomenally flexible and configurable.
I hope you continue to upgrade this app, even though it works so well already :-)

### 5/5 — Great Tool

*2025-01-04, version 2.5.1*

Simple, effective, does what it says it does.

### 5/5 — Please update to accommodate newest iOS update

*2024-12-19, version 2.5.1*

I loved this app - I created and have different workout routines for different days/needs. I loved how it would automatically tell me what the next exercise was, tell me how many reps and timed the activity as needed. Unfortunately, after the most recent IOS update, I can’t start any of the workout sessions. Thankfully, the individual workouts are still there but I have to go through the session manually. Please restore functionality

### 5/5 — Just what I wanted

*2024-12-02, version 2.5.1*

I just need a simple app with this is it! Add your own custom exercises, and save progress after each workout. No more constant scratching my handwritten notes. Went add free after first couple workouts.

### 5/5 — Reps

*2024-11-05, version 2.5.1*

My only problem with it is it’s hard to log reps on exercises that have a time limit because as soon as the time is up it moves on to the next exercise and I can't figure out a way to either backpedal or log the reps afterwards
As I'm new I'm not sure how exercises without the time limits work

### 5/5 — Excellent for home gym users

*2024-10-29, version 2.5.1*

Finally an inexpensive app without requiring a subscription that lets me add custom exercises with notes, pics and charting. I love the interface, hoping you add more muscles to the GUI, such as shin muscles. Also, it would be nice to be able to use your last session’s reps/weight when starting a new one. I have to start a workout, then hit info, then logs, then click the date to look at to see what I lifted and how many reps from the previous session.
