## What is Workout Planner?

The workout planner that decides your workout for you, plus a calorie and protein tracker that logs a meal from a photo. Four movements. Two numbers. That's the whole app, and it's deliberately the whole app.

Compound is for the people who are tired of picking. Tired of starting a 12-week program and abandoning it in week three. Tired of losing the weight and not liking what's underneath. Tired of reading fourteen Reddit threads to decide what to do at the gym today.

What you get

- A strength training plan built on four movement patterns — squat, hinge, push, pull — sized to how many gym days a week you can actually show up. Open the app and today's workout is already decided.
- Progression handled for you. Pick your variations, log the set, and the plan adjusts.
- A protein target and a calorie target. Two numbers, not a dashboard of macros. If you're on a GLP-1 (Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, Zepbound®), the protein target is set higher so the weight you lose isn't muscle.
- A meal scanner: point your phone at your plate, or scan a barcode, or search. Logged in seconds.
- Progress that shows what changed across weeks and months, not what you did yesterday.
- A friends layer for the handful of people you actually train with. Opt-in per post, private by default. Not a feed for influencers.

What you don't get

A 40-exercise menu, macros of macros, streak guilt, or notifications nagging you to grind.

Who it's for

People rebuilding after weight loss who want a strong body underneath, not just a smaller one. Lifters who have program-hopped through five plans in two years. Beginners who would rather show up and execute than spend the week deciding what to do. Hip thrust and RDL are first-class hinges here, not afterthoughts.

Most lifters who stuck with it for years quietly figured out that strong people don't actually do that many different exercises. Compound is built on that.

### 5/5 — Would truly give it another star if I could!

*2026-08-20*

I really love the way this app has everything I need to achieve my goals. I have been using it consistently this month to track my food intake, track my workout progress, and learn more about my habits as I reach my goals. I’ve always struggled with body image and unhealthy eating habits but having this to put it all into perspective and follow a routine that works for me is really cool. I also love the social aspect, seeing that other people are on the same boat as me and also have good and bad days is motivating and really feels like i’m not alone in this and everyone is on their own journey.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-31

Your workout, live on your Lock Screen.

- Live workout on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island: current set, rest countdown, and a clear go when it's time to lift.
- A share carousel when you finish, and add a photo and a caption to a workout or a meal straight from the finish screen.

Your plan

- Shorten or extend your current block from the program overview, and the week strip follows.
- Swap a whole movement pattern from any exercise in it, and tap a chart on the program overview to open that exercise's dashboard.
- Change a workout's color any time, not just when you create it. And picking your variations is clearer if you're new to lifting.

Train together

- Co-author a workout with a friend and each log your own numbers.
- Save a friend's workout straight from their post.
- Post cards, redesigned: a set-by-set breakdown on workouts, a macro hero on meals, swipe for ingredients, tap to zoom photos.

Meals

- Custom foods: create your own foods, save quick-adds to My foods, swipe to edit or delete them.
- Better matches for branded and restaurant meals. The scan now reads the whole menu, not just the item name.
- "Add photo" on a meal opens the camera directly.

Also: swipe to delete ingredients, workouts, and completed sessions; logging a workout from the button confirms with a toast; exercise pills on the 1RM chart slide so long names aren't cut off; Pro (including lifetime) is reachable from Settings; and a long list of fixes.

Four movements. Two numbers.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-11

Widgets, five languages, and a finish worth showing up for.

Widgets
Ten of them, across the Home Screen and Lock Screen. Calorie and protein gauges, today's session, your week at a glance, and a streak flame that picks up more sparkle at milestones. Lock Screen launchers put a meal scan, a barcode, or your next workout one tap from a locked phone.

Five languages
English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and French. Dates, numbers, and notifications follow your language too, not just the buttons. Switch anytime in Settings.

Finishing a workout
Now two beats instead of one form. First the moment: the streak you just extended, where your block stands, what you earned. Then the ask: how did it feel. Progression shows up the instant you unlock it.

Workout
Warm-up sets from the card footer, ramp already computed.
Start button on the session hero, no scrolling to find it.
Exercise dashboards on the workout screen.

Nutrition
Swipe left on Home to delete a logged food, scan, or barcode.
Number pads respond on touch, and select-all does what it says.

Social
Handles are assigned when you join, so there is nothing to invent. Social now opens on people to follow.

Fixes
Crash when finishing a session.
Keyboard covering the notes field on session detail.
Subscription state after a promo grant.
Age not saving from the body stats editor.
Empty macro chips showing no cursor.
A skipped baseline reappearing after sync.
