We loved how easy it was to get started — just download the app, follow the instructions, and you’re off. The challenges were well thought out and struck a nice balance between being clever and accessible. Nothing felt too easy or frustrating, and we enjoyed working together to solve clues, especially while exploring parts of the city we might have otherwise walked past. The app itself was intuitive and stable, which made the experience smooth and immersive. We appreciated that we could go at our own pace, stop for a coffee along the way, and really enjoy Wrocław’s atmosphere while playing. Bring it on 🙂 ### 5/5 — Syracuse and Ortigia Scavenger hunt *2025-11-17, version 1.66* We love the World City Trail Scavenger Hunts because they take you around the destination giving the history and stories of the area, without the need for extraneous stories. The clues are well set and fun to answer. Every now and again we pause the game and sit down for a good cup of coffee (and a beer). Einige Sehenswürdigkeiten hätten wir sonst nicht erkundet (Aufstieg in den Turm der St. Petrikirche) oder wären nur von Weitem an der Nikolaikirche vorbeigegangen . Beim letzten Rätsel könnte der Hinweis ein bisschen eindeutiger sein, dass man immer wieder von vorne mit dem Zählen anfangen muss. Ansonsten eine schöne Tour, die man ohne Besichtigungen in 2,5 Stunden schaffen kann. Auch das Wechseln zur Routenführung über Googlemaps ist zwischen den Stationen ist einfach und klasse. Using my own data plan with high speed internet and the app still had to be closed out and restarted every time I interacted with it. The app had good information about the land marks but I only managed to get through 3-4 of them before I gave up on the app and my €8. ### 1/5 — Lame scavenger hunt, worse support *2025-06-04, version 1.60* Downloaded the scavenger hunt for Helsinki. Made it almost 2/3 of the way thru when the app crashed. I tried to start it back up but it said my code had expired. I tried customer support who acknowledged me, but provided no instructions or help. The scavenger hunt questions were fine for the first few but the last couple were just what were the dates at the sites. ### 1/5 — Awful. *2023-09-19, version 1.33* Had the app loaded - had bought a self guided tour in Get Your Guide. Loaded the tour. Arrived in the city. App wouldn’t load. Wouldn’t load all day, so I just left it and went on my way. I only had a data SIM card and couldn’t call. Tried to get a refund later. Customer service was not a service at all, just asked me why I didn’t reach out sooner. And was condescending by telling me I could have emailed or WhatsApp. No refund. ### 1/5 — Une app qui ne fonctionne ABSOLUMENT PAS ! *2023-01-25* Une équipe Commerciale pitoyable qui nie l’évidence lorsque dès le début de votre visite l’application ne fonctionne pas… Après avoir téléphoné au SAV : l’application daigne enfin détecter que vous êtes « au point de départ » du circuit. Elle PLANTERA plus loin; vous empêchant de continuer votre visite prétendant un manque de connexion à Internet alors que vous avez 500 Mbps de débit en 5G pour un Ping inférieur à 10 ms… Bref, je ne disposait que d’une courte journée pour visiter Lille : un grand merci à cette application lamentable qui m’aura tout bonnement fait perdre plus de trois heures de mon court séjour à dialoguer par WhatsApp par -3 degrés pour que ses Commerciaux nient l’évidence : cette application n’est pas au point. Nous espérons avoir l’occasion de vous offrir une bien meilleure expérience à l’avenir. ### 1/5 — Great concept, terrible execution *2023-01-02, version 1.19* We did the escape game in Sydney and it was a thoroughly confusing and infuriating experience. Many of the clues are worded poorly so it’s difficult to know with some of them what you actually need to do; some clues are actually outdated (with photos that are no longer relevant); with others, the answers are in fact wrong; and with some clues, the format (numerical, letters) isn’t clear so you end up putting answers in incorrectly. The actual concept is great but this app needs A LOT of work to make it useful and enjoyable. ### 1/5 — Good idea, but a disappointment *2022-10-17, version 1.14* It’s not that I hated the app, I just don’t think it’s really anything. The concept of the app seemed good, but I don’t think that it lived up to what it advertised. Maybe I just picked a bad tour to do since it was the one for Bratislava which may not be as expansive as larger capital cities. The interface was lackluster and limiting. It wasn’t engaging or fun in anyway. They mentioned having riddles which didn’t exist. The worst part was probably the fact that in the app the tour prices were around 20 euros which is wayyyyy too much for what you get. Thankfully, I got a serial number by buying a ticket on Get Your Guide instead for 2.5 euros instead and honestly you really only get 1 euro’s worth of content in the end. 🤷🏻‍♀️😢 ### 2/5 — Does not work well *2025-07-20, version 1.60* We did not connect to WiFi when using this app as instructed and it continuously malfunctioned. You cannot use WiFi with this app or it will not work correctly. So if you do not have access to international data or unlimited data, I suggest finding a different app. I had to restart the app multiple times to get it to somewhat run and even then some features were not useable. Deleted it and will be looking for a different version. ### 2/5 — „nett“-aber schlecht recherchiert *2025-06-22* es reicht eben nicht, die ki zu beauftragen Texte über eine Stadt zu schreiben. Es sind viele Fehler drin. Das Wunder von Dortmund ist in der Petrikirche, nicht in der Reinoldikirche. Letztere heißt Reinoldi-Kirche nicht Reinhold Kirche. Das Brückstraßeviertel und das Kreuzviertel hat nichts miteinander zu tun liegen sehr weit voneinander entfernt. Der Hashim Platz ist einer der tote Plätze der Stadt und nicht belebt mit Cafés und Restaurants wie in der App angegeben. warum der Adlerturm mal Falkenturm heißt, verstehe ich nicht. Und was oliver Bierhoff mit dem Borsigplatz zu tun hat, ist mir ebenso schleierhaft. Das Museum des bvb heißt Borusseum und befindet sich neben dem Westfalen-Stadion und nicht am Borsigplatz. die erste Frage zum Dortmunder U steht aus zwei Fragen, aber nur eine Antwort muss eingegeben werden. Die Auswahl der Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt ist nett, der Rundgang von der Entfernung her gut durchdacht, aber er ist sehr schlecht recherchiert und für 13 € finde ich das zu teuer. **Developer response:** Vielen Dank für dein ausführliches und konkretes Feedback. Auch die Aufgabenführung und Antwortlogik werden laufend verbessert, damit die Erfahrung insgesamt stimmiger und nutzerfreundlicher wird. Es freut uns dennoch, dass dir die Auswahl der Sehenswürdigkeiten und die Streckenführung grundsätzlich gefallen haben. We are in our 30s and sure, some clues were “easy” but some were genuinely challenging and it was fun to work out the answers together. We are already planning to do the scavenger and “escape room” version in our home city when we return! ### 5/5 — Perfect! *2026-07-28, version 1.88* We spent the day doing the Cambridge Scavenger Hunt. It was a really fun and interesting way to explore the city - the app took a second for each audio clip to load but, once it did, it was perfect.
