The costs of upgrading units or generals is a bit absurd when compared to the rewards given in any section. Fighting a battle to get 6 medals is okay and all, but when the cost to upgrade anything is 200 or more it makes it feel like a bunch of time invested with extremely minimal payout. Some of the sections give no resources for rewards for upgrades at all, or even general cards or unit cards for summoning more. The only big complaint I have with the game is this system. Running numbers on rewards to upgrades, I would right now have to do an entire page of the domination just to get 1 point upgrade on anything. Can we have slightly more rewards, or a slight reduction in costs, so that playing feels more rewarding and less of a paywall grind? ### 2/5 — Good game but not enough events *2026-08-13, version 3.4.3* I like the game but the time between the events is too long and it gets boring doing nothing waiting for the next one. Please just fix this in another update or another installment. I play this game for leisure and enjoyment, not to try the same campaign level 5 times and want to rip my fingers off individually because my ai teammates are so stupid. I also think that Guderian should have a god-tier (Golden) upgrade. Blitzkrieg should turn into father of the blitzkrieg (something similar to steel maneuver) panzer leader turns into no retreat (100% chance to do a crit on flanked enemies and other effects) armored assault turns into blasting assault (deals 10% damage to targets straight behind the attacked plot). I really hope you do this. ### 5/5 — 1 year of playing *2026-07-30, version 3.4.2* I have played WC4 for one whole year by now and have nothing but positive things to say. It’s free to play and doesn’t need WIFI. Now with that said I’ve spent well over 300 dollars but it was well spent. A few recommendations for any new players: ALWAYS update your save file and have WC4 on a separate device too, I’ve seen people lose it all because they didn’t have it backed up. Understand that 100%ing this game will likely take years, between all the generals, updates, and EFs it will take a lot of time I have only recently gotten my first Lvl 12 EF and have still not completed all of the challenge conquest goals. ### 4/5 — Great fun game but! *2026-07-27, version 3.4.2* I love this game and it’s so much func but the thing that bothers me is how I can’t make troops in the cities of the same friendly army. Enemies are only better because they’re overpowered until you either pay money to upgrade skills or give up your precious time to try try try again only to end up with the same outcome. Nothing you do will change what happens unless you actually spend the premium currency to upgrade your commanders or skills tree. I absolutely hate games that do this. It’s not a challenging game that makes you use your brain. It’s literally just numbers. It’s just instantly trying to connect to my new Apple ID and when I click no I’m syncing my new account. It won’t let me login into anything else but this account so I am done playing this game. I pick Finland and get boned by USSR, and they are a powerhouse in the War. I chose India and check that the world spending Finnish empire had taken the USSR. Has potential but balancing sucks and missions are the same ### 1/5 — Pay to Win *2026-05-19, version 3.3.1* The time spent in this game vs the achievements/improvements obtained are completely miss aligned. I have been playing for months (because I enjoy the game) and even bought a couple times but it's impossible to scale up.
