## What is World Dance Foundation?

The world of DanceSport, in your pocket.

WDF is the official app of the World Dance Foundation — the home of competitive ballroom dance. Browse the global competition calendar across every major federation, open three decades of results archives, and look up any of 93,000+ competitors on the public record.

PARTNER SEARCH — the fastest way to find your next dance partner. Browse real profiles with verified competition records, filter by style and role, respond to an ad, or post your own — right from your phone.

COMPETITIONS — the sanctioned season in one calendar: NDCA, WDSF, WDC, WDO, WFADS, and BDC events with dates, venues, and official sites. Star a competition and it lands on your watchlist.

RECORDS — every dancer, on the record. Search the USA, international, and WDSF circuits free; open any profile for career stats and recent placements with medals. Claim your own record — free — and unlock the full analysis on every profile: styles, best dances, levels, partners, and career charts.

RESULTS — three archives, championship by championship: USA competitions, the international circuits heat-by-heat, and the WDSF archive from World Championships to GrandSlams.

THE STUDIO ATLAS — 1,280 studios across 69 countries, searchable by style and place.

JOBS & AUDITIONS — teaching positions, competition staff, and auditions, posted by studios and organizers; studios post openings straight from their Atlas page.

YOUR PASSPORT, YOURS TO EDIT — claim your competition record and update your passport from the app: display name, country and city, studio, coaches, a short bio, and (adults, strictly opt-in) contact details on your public profile.

And on any competitor profile: podium record, best dances by average placement, partner history, season-by-season career charts, and the level climb from Newcomer to Championship.

Sign in with Apple or Google to unlock your Dance Passport, watchlist, partner-ad responses, and notifications when someone answers your ad.

World Dance Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to growing dance worldwide.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1.1 — 2026-08-31

Readable at any text size.

If you use larger text on your iPhone, parts of WDF were unreadable — and
the parts that broke first were the ones that matter most.

• The calendar couldn't show the date. Every day past the 10th showed as
  "…" instead of a number.
• Figures were cut off. 21,052 events showed as "210…"; the Records and
Today pages trimmed archive counts mid-number.
• Names were broken. A dancer could appear as "Niko-lay Georgi ev", a
  studio as "Storm Ball-room", a vendor as "Su-padanc e".
• Text could overlap. On the partner board, a city name could land on top
of a dancer's style and level instead of below it.
• Some labels never grew at all — the Passport's achievement captions and
a screen title stayed small, or got clipped, no matter your setting.

All of it now scales, wraps, and stays whole. Nothing changes if you use
the standard text size.

### 2.1 — 2026-08-27

Your profile, finished

The record was already yours. Now the page that carries it is too.

• Your photo — set one from Me, and it appears wherever you do
• Achievements — eight, earned from your own record. The ones still
ahead of you stay visible, so you can see what you're working toward
• Your season — a year of competitions at a glance, filtered to the
  styles you actually dance
• Share your record — one tap, and it's a link

Fixed

• Dark mode. If your phone was set to dark, whole screens read as
blank — The Floor, Today, Messages and others were painting light
text on a light background. They're legible again.
• The Records front page. Tapping a name could open a different dancer
entirely, and Back walked through strangers instead of returning to
  the list.
• Recent champions. Tapping one usually reported they weren't on the
record. Now it opens their record — or both partners', when the win
  was a couple's.

### 2.0 — 2026-08-19

Your desk

Every other role on WDF had a workspace of its own. Dancers didn't. Now you do.

Open Me → My desk for:

• Next up — your next watched competition, counted down in days
• This season — your events and average finish, measured against last season
  rather than a career total
• Your dances — your strongest, and the one with most room, ranked by average
  placement
• Your partner, and anything waiting in your inbox

Nothing here is self-reported. It is all drawn from the results archive.

How the panel marks you

New in this release: see which judges place you above or below the rest of the
panel, across every heat you have shared with them. Both directions, always —
and only judges you have met at least five times, because anything less is not
a pattern. It describes what the marks show, nothing more.

Your desk and the full analysis open up once you have linked or claimed your
competition record. Find your name on the Records tab.

Readable at any size

WDF now follows your system text size across every screen and every figure. If
you have made text larger on your iPhone, the app finally listens.

VoiceOver

Controls that were only an icon — send, share, close, next month, add to your
season — now say what they do.

### 1.9 — 2026-08-10

Happenings — what's on, near you
Visiting teachers, camps, and practice rounds at studios around you, sorted by distance. Sign up in two taps and the studio knows you're coming. Studio owners: post a happening from your desk and watch the headcount arrive.

My Season — your whole season on one calendar
Starred competitions alongside your own lessons, practice, travel, and notes, on a single month grid. Tap a day to add something, tap again to move it. It travels with your account, so the season you plan here is waiting for you on the web.

The Floor is now a conversation
Comment on posts, edit your own, and share a moment beyond the app. Links in posts are tappable.

Coach desk — for teachers and adjudicators
Lesson requests now reach you the moment a dancer sends one. Confirm or decline from your phone, see what's booked, and find the credentials from your directory profile.

Parent desk — for the grown-ups in the ballroom
Add your dancers, link a competition record so their results follow them in, and plan the family season. A young dancer's profile stays private to you.

Find a Partner, from the front door
The partner board is now one tap from Today.

Also in this release: an app-icon badge showing exactly what's waiting for you, smoother scrolling on Today, and a fix for taps landing on the wrong card in Partner Search.

### 1.7 — 2026-08-09

Happenings — visiting teachers, camps, and practice rounds, near you.
Browse what's happening at studios, sort by distance, and sign up in two taps — the studio sees you're coming. Studio owners: post happenings right from your desk and watch the headcount arrive. Plus, your app badge now shows exactly what's waiting for you — new leads, lesson requests, and signups.
