### 4/5 — The bottom of the screen is a dead zone for no reason

*2022-06-21, version 0.0.46*

I love nearly everything about this game. Fun, unique gameplay. A charming story and character dialogue. Varied character abilities.
Interesting boss fights. One of the more generous gacha systems I’ve seen in a game.
But the one thing that stops this game from being a 5-star is the unnecessary dead zone at the bottom of the screen during gameplay. So many times I’ve been tapping to hit a shot back up, only to have my characters fall into the pit because the bottom is a dead zone. Even if the screen has to be framed the way it is for formatting on different sized phones, there is no reason for the dead zone. The whole bottom should be detecting my presses. Please fix this.

### 4/5 — Honestly, best mobile pinball game

*2022-03-17, version 0.0.41*

This game really ain’t a pinball game but it’s fun, it could have better mechanics regarding the following:

1. Less duplicates when drawing
2. Bumpers need rework (more control of directory)
3. Mana board should tell users how many items they have in stock on screen or on board icons to determine if it can be unlocked other than “glowing”
4. Some support skilled characters need better support especially healers etc
5. Better items in store, I need more mama, more exp but it’s too pricey, maybe lower rates
6. Multiplayer needs rework, pregame lobby needs chat, to make sure party members have the correct element class for boss battles
7. Need more public events to gain more pearls and items

Other than that, I enjoy this game 👍

### 4/5 — Love the game, hate the censorship.

*2022-01-30, version 0.0.39*

Game is extremely fun, far more generous than most gacha. I would say my only complaint is the censored character art for the global release. As an artist myself, the blatant and hamfisted covering of character skin just seems like nonsense.

We’re not living in puritanical times anymore. Fear of human anatomy isn’t hurting anyone and needs to be more accepted. At least give us the option to turn it off if we want to see the art as intended.

### 5/5 — Phenomenal Game All Around

*2022-01-12, version 0.0.38*

This game has surpassed my expectations in every single way. I downloaded it a while back, but only got into it now, because the idea of a pinball adventure game didn’t interest me. How wrong I was. The action in this game is amazing, with some awesome team building and level up aspects. You always feel like there’s something else you can shoot for next. The story in this game is actually very good, which is something else I didn’t expect. I think that the fact that each character has there own little story is such a nice touch too. And I cannot tell you enough that the music in this game is great. I can set my phone down and just listen to the music, on any section of the game, it’s that good. The gacha system is pretty rewarding, and doesn’t make you feel like you need to spend money, like other popular adventure gacha games(Genshin impact I’m looking at you). Overall this game is amazing so just download it :)

### 5/5 — Love it!! Bug?

*2022-01-05, version 0.0.38*

The game is amazing, story line and plot are great, same with the action and the game itself is different than many other mobile games so I’d say World flipper is one of my favorites. It’s basically an anime-story-action-pinball game and I love it because it’s just so creative and there is so much thought out into the game as well. I just have a problem, sometimes when you finish up a part of a certain main story it’s gives you the 15 orbs for getting through the dialogue part but when it’s over the next thing you’d do is gather a party to attack some monster like in my case for The Wasteland on part Stage 10 I can not continue on past this point. Not because I cannot beat it but I CANNOT do the level itself. So please fix the problem and otherwise perfect.

### 5/5 — Delightful!

*2021-12-23, version 0.0.35*

Just randomly found this game by accident, but what a great surprise! I love pinball, I love Gatchas, I love RPG’s. It’s like this game was made just for me! Beautiful 16 bit style graphics with high rez character art and text. Nice character design too, though it would be amazing if they were animated 2d, but clearly that would be an enormous undertaking. Most importantly, the pinball physics are correct and so far the tables are a ton of fun. My only wish is that there was an option to control each flipper independently, as you would on a real table, in addition to the one touch setup. It would just give a more authentic experience that feels better to existing pinball enthusiasts. Otherwise a wonderful game!

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2021-12-05, version 0.0.35*

I hardly seek out the app store specifically to leave a review, but this game deserves it. This is such a unique twist to an RPG game. The characters are so unique with each of their own personalities, and the story is very captivating. The sprites have a very simple design, but this simplicity is made up by the fluid and graceful movement of each sprite which their attacks.

The UI is unique and everything is just so amazingly unique. I’m very pleased to have found this game.

### 5/5 — Favorite Passtime

*2021-11-30, version 0.0.35*

I absolutely love this game. I can genuinely say I haven’t gotten so much from a game since the og Minecraft! It has flaws, sure, but in my opinion, they only make World Flipper even more engaging!

This is a game where you can actually make progress and even develop your own strategy. A meta exists, but it’s perfectly approachable to new players-it’s entirely self paced!

### 5/5 — 15/10

*2021-11-30, version 0.0.35*

Very fun pinball anime game! (Mia Best Tiger BTW ❤️❤️❤️) I’m in North America and the Voices are Japanese WHICH I LOVE! BTW the pulls for new units are balanced (Got Robbed on getting 5 star from 4 stars but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) Suuuuuuuuure you can spend money on this game for beads and extra stuff! If you really wanted to. The gacha system is awesome! save X amount of beads from logging in daily, Server maintenance compensation, Daily quests, and Boss battles! and bam you can get awesome units easy! The battles and story missions, and CO-OP battles are awesome! There’s always a event or something AWESOME GOING ON to keep the game from getting stale! Voice actors are spot on! I would HIGHLY recommend this FREE app to Everyone! BEST PART IS: YOU CAN LET THE GAME BE AUTO! So if your lazy to tap screen then this is the game for you! Don’t listen to the 1⭐️ reviews they Be hating and Trolling OR NEVER PLAYED PINBALL BEFORE! THIS APP IS EASY TO PLAY! Which I love!

### 5/5 — Best mobile game I’ve ever played!!

*2021-11-09, version 0.0.32*

What I love so much about world flipper is that it isn’t like all the other basic gacha games. You can have a great time both getting awesome characters and blowing through levels with ease without spending a penny!! I have recommended this game to multiple friends and they have said the same thing!!

### 5/5 — One of the funnest mobile games I’ve played with a sweet story.

*2021-11-02, version 0.0.32*

I absolutely love the gameplay. My only complaint is that the levels feel too short and leveling up is a bit too easy. I think that if the levels were a bit harder and there were more waves, it would be a lot more fun.
The story is really sweet as well. I love the characters and each chapter is so vibrant and plays a really important role in the story that keeps it refreshing.

### 4/5 — Good game but stuff left untranslated

*2021-10-15, version 0.0.30*

There is an issue with some of the text appearing as something that isn’t English (such as the text for a characters species being in Korean I’m pretty sure) this also goes for the mana board too, there are some other stuff that haven’t been translated into English as well, it’s a good game don’t get me wrong, just has to fix the translation issue with the text and I’ll hand them my 5th star

### 5/5 — Love it

*2021-10-05, version 0.0.30*

I’m really getting into this game! The gameplay feels really good and I especially love the boss fights!

I do have one complaint, though. When summoning, I’ve noticed 5 Star units only seem appear when a pachinko minigame(?) appears. And you’re not guaranteed a 5 Star unit when it does appear. I feel the pachinko thing should be an extra chance to get a 5 Star unit rather than the only way to get one.

### 5/5 — Yet another great game from Kakao

*2021-10-03, version 0.0.30*

Man, this is a very good game! I played Guardian Tales before this and I know you guys can put out some pretty good games. I don’t understand how games from these guys are so good and still remain under the radar! You already have a big chunk of the story in this game ready to play and I’m very happy with the story. I can’t wait to see what y’all have in store for this game in the future!!

### 5/5 — Precious and Wonderful 🥺💗

*2021-09-30, version 0.0.23*

I don’t usually leave reviews but I HAVE to for this. I really really love the game. It’s so fun and I can’t put it down! I love the pinball style it has, the characters and their stories are so good too. I love a game with a good story and World Flipper really delivers a short and full lore. I love how I don’t feel unlucky playing the game, I have gotten more 5 stars than any other gacha game I’ve played. It’s nice to have it be multiplayer as well, it’s very fun to play with my friends. And grinding is significantly easier while keeping you busy! I am sure there is a lot to look forward with this game and I am excited for the rest of the main story to come ^-^.

### 5/5 — About people’s complaints….

*2021-09-29, version 0.0.23*

So, a majority of the low reviews are people complaining about the censorship and some minor translation errors. The original KR and JP versions had more cleavage. So there’s some context for you.

All that aside, this game is FUN. The pixel art is the main appeal for me, but I love the pinball play-style too.

I appreciate that I’m not too pressured to spend money so quickly. I also feel relatively happy with my gacha rolls, but I’m also coming from FGO so anything is better than that lol

The things I’d love to see more of is elaborate events (rather than just an extra event-themed boss) and maybe a customizable room or area for your fave characters? I’d love more customization and character content in general.

Otherwise, this game is really cute and satisfying. It’s definitely worth playing!

### 5/5 — I barely like any gacha games, but this game is beautiful

*2021-09-29, version 0.0.23*

Pixel animations, art, gameplay, story, everything is very polished, I don’t understand why are people upset over some translation errors when the game practically just came out globally.

Not even a single thing of the things that people complain about is going to change your experience on this game.

This game has more love into it than most of the big gacha games out there that are just money grabbers.

### 4/5 — Great Mechanics, bad translation

*2021-09-24, version 0.0.23*

Pinball and gacha are a pretty good combo and the devs did a good job creating a variety of strategies and plenty of incentive to build various teams and make use of its huge roster of characters.

Currently the biggest issue with the game is the translation. Some ability descriptions are especially misleading, have words left out like “healing”, or in rare cases are in Korean. This still hasn’t been fixed after a month which is worrisome.

When you’re first starting out it’s smart to stick to a single team and raise them until you can beat all bosses, but eventually you’ll hit a point in kaleidoscope where you need diversity.

**Developer response:** Hello, I am sorry to hear that you are not enjoying the current in-game features. We will keep that under consideration when working on future changes for World Flipper as we want to achieve the best balance possible between our vision and the community’s feedback!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — latest update is a nightmare for ios users

*2022-06-02, version 0.0.45*

I spent alot of money on this game since global release. I tried reaching out few times but due to the time difference I don’t get a reply until almost a day later. Also messaged them via twitter. It’s been almost 48 hours since the apple issue has been addressed. I was emailed that the issue was resolved so I had to update the app. I updated the app, restarted my phone, tried another phone, deleted app and installed my phone and had a different error message please return to title screen.

### 1/5 — Greedy company, terrible English translation

*2021-09-14, version 0.0.23*

The game suffers from poorly translated text. It appears that the game was translated from Japanese into Korean then into English. There are random instances of Korean text and poorly formated skill descriptions. This is contrasted with a reasonably translated story. Laziness? Lack of polish? Who knows. Segmented playerbase by geographic location in a game where cooperative play is required only serves to fracture the community and make gameplay more difficult than it needs to be. At least allow players to select which server they would like to part of. No ceiling system for free currency. Ceiling or pity systems are standard for gacha games at this point, only having it in place for paid currency is plain greed. In line with this, actively hindering re-rolling by removing account deletion and placing a 24 hour lock out on linking accounts, all smell of greed

**Developer response:** Hello,
We want to make sure World Flipper is the best game possible and we want to continuously improve it, so thank you for sharing your thoughts on the localization, easy deleting, regional servers and the portal system!

### 1/5 — Money-Fueled, Poorly-Managed Rollout

*2021-09-09, version 0.0.23*

Like many others, one of the biggest gripes I have is that they removed a feature in the global release that would allow you to “re-roll” your account without having to delete and re-download 3GB of data. Of course, people are going to do it anyway, so why not keep the feature? Are they so desperate for money up front?

The censorship/changes to the artwork doesn’t bother me as much (though it is obviously in an effort to hook younger audiences with access to parental credit cards) but it does lead to a big gripe of mine: the localization team was incredibly sloppy and lazy with this game. There are text errors (“Daily Bonu,”really?), untranslated portions, sloppy artwork changes (you have to add ALL of the pants, or else you’ve just got weird chaps), grammar and spelling mistakes, etc.

The gameplay itself is fun and unique though, if you can get past the load times on every. Single. Screen.

All in all, it just feels like this game was a rush job intended to ride the hype train to the bank.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2021-09-08, version 0.0.23*

Removed an important feature that allows rerolling for global only. That made servers launch congested because people have to redownload 3gbs of data each time. No cross play between servers despite it being “global”. Censored version for global as well. The uncensored files are still downloaded too so they were too lazy to delete them. Also lazy censorship when they don’t edit the entire portion of a character’s legs. They said they’re aware of the situation but I highly doubt they’re going to change anything before people stop caring about some random gacha. Good job kakao games

### 1/5 — cool game concept, first of its kind, but scummy dev decisions

*2021-09-08, version 0.0.23*

i could care less about censoring, but i do find it weird some servers of the same global game have it and others dont. Also removing the delete account button when clearly there’s even a question before tutorial where is asks the players if they have played it before makes 100% clear that the decision to make rerolling hard happened happened without thinking and right before launch. Also not allowing people to play with their friends from other countries in a game that relies heavily on multiplayer? yeah not a great start.

### 1/5 — Weird Start

*2021-09-08, version 0.0.23*

Hey all!
How should I put this? This company is a hot mess. There are 2 things I should address here. First is the censoring. I’m usually fine with censoring in global (Girl frontline is my most favorite game). However, they did a crappy job on censorship. For example, Sonia, they put a blommer on her under the skirt instead of the thong like on the original art. It looks super cute for me. However, the skin under the skirt still have her skin color instead of the bloomer’s color. It is very weird. Second is the remove of the reroll button. Some people may find this unimportant but to me, a 3G users, this is a serious matter. I am really interesting about the fate of this game under Kakao control. Peace!

### 2/5 — Game account sync is bugged ?

*2021-09-09, version 0.0.23*

I had two profiles one on apple on my iPhone and one on my google account on my iPad. My google account rolled much better. So I didn’t want my apple one. I wanted my google account on both my phone and iPad. So I unregistered my apple account on my iPhone and signed into my google account thinking it would carry my progress from the game from my iPad. But now started a new game on my google account on my iPhone. How does that happened? Two games on different devices are sinked to the same gmail. I don’t want to lose the account on my iPad. Is there a way to fix this?

### 2/5 — Needs work, but it’s early

*2021-09-09, version 0.0.23*

The good news is if you’re a pinball fanatic, plus a Gacha and pixel art lover, this is the game for you. It’s like another popular game out there, but with pinball mechanics.

The bad news is that you still have to wait after you clear a scene to get your rewards, the developer could do a bit more for compensation for players like that other popular developer does for Dragalia. There needs to be a middle ground between what whales and dolphins want and what the devs will do and in my opinion it feels like the devs have their thumbs on the scale a bit.

Fix the server issues and find that harmony so that players will still spend money with you, and I’ll change my rating.

### 2/5 — Mishandled release

*2021-09-08, version 0.0.23*

The global release of this game appears to have stumbled quite a bit. The version of this game appears to be a copy of the Chinese version and removes many of the Quality of Life features the Japanese version has. On top of that, the global version is region locked. In addition, much of the in game text is not in English.

The global team publisher has not provided an official response regarding missing features or the lack of completely translated text. This feels like the global release was rushed and only made to sucker in more people to spend on the gacha for this game.

The gameplay is pinball. If that’s what you like, this’ll be a good experience. While the gacha element is a presence, it’s not a critical part of the gameplay. But you will need to keep what units you have in mind when tackling harder content.

You have no reason to spend money on this game and I strongly discourage anyone from doing so— especially with the missing features and half-hearted translation effort. The gameplay itself is fun to play and watch, so enjoy it while you still have this downloaded.

### 4/5 — Pretty good!

*2022-09-29, version 0.0.51*

It’s a gacha, so do not play this if you struggle with a gambling addiction or think you might be susceptible to one.

For a gacha, much less a pinball gacha, this game rocks! The writing is fun, the team building is interesting, and the rates for 5*’s (no meaningful pity, flat 5% rate) makes it different from playing another gacha with a more traditional system. I will say now that I’ve hit capital e endgame I’m a little bored, but that’s just life!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — A ending I never wanted

*2024-06-10*

In the hordes of turn based or auto battler gatcha games that exist there is was strange little game called World Flipper. Eventually even this review will disappear as to will the game in a month and a half.

Wildly untoxic and generous devs considering the genre of game we’re talking here. No need to have spent a penny to beat the main story, an engaging story with lots of side characters and interesting plot points.

You wouldn’t think a game could make playing pinball so consistently fun AND actually weave it into the literal lore of the game.

Add the fact that literally every character has alternative art. Yes even the lowest star ones.

I’m saddened and I know all games come to an end but I do so wish a paid, but offline version could be released. But I also understand no game can last forever without diluting itself and bloating to such proportions that it loses all sense of enjoyment.

I just hope Cygames and Kakao continue to put out amazing things like this in the future…I just wish it could be around a bit longer. I think if I can help it…I might never uninstall it or delete its icon.

### 5/5 — A 4 month early farewell to you world flipper

*2024-03-22*

I played this game on release and I loved it!
The pinball mechanics feel really well done with how most teams can work even if you aren’t paying attention to your leader skill
The odds for 5 stars aren’t bad either and even then most characters are REALLY good when optimized in a proper team
Although the reason I’m sad is because of the notice that on June 25 of 2024 this games service will end which means no more of one of my favorite mobile games and even then kakao you’ve made some gems but guardian tales is way to grindy for my liking but this feels balanced and enjoyable
So this my farewell to being a long time player since release thank you kakao for making this damm gem and maybe try making a more permanent version of this game since it’s amazing

### 5/5 — Fantastic game! Just takes up a chunk of storage

*2023-06-20*

I absolutely enjoyed playing the game! It had fun and vibrant characters and the gacha pulls are not nearly as greedy as other gacha games, and the cute pixelated pinball gameplay is unique and adorable.

Only gripe was that it took up several GB of storage. Didn't mind it too much when I obsessively played it, but when I started to focus on other games, it kinda had to go to make room.

Not very knowledgeable on game developer stuff, but if there's a way to have the game need less GB in storage, that would be fantastic! Will probably download again eventually regardless once I start missing the game lol

### 5/5 — Do you miss dragalia // hear me out

*2023-02-04, version 0.0.57*

Yes this is not dragalia lost but this is cygames at its finest again & here’s the kicker !!! Instead of being published by Nintendo you got Kakao games the lovely non toxic devs bringing you classics like guardians tales and eversoul .. i mean you even have the in game manga with new panels added all the time !! God I miss dragalia anyways I digress. I want to remind everyone that this is a mobile game that actually feels like a game and not a monotonous toxic grind. If you want to grind I’m sure you can find ways but just sit back and enjoy the story , play some events , pull some characters with all the huge amounts of currency they freely hand out combined with a daily free pull. I know people say a free daily pull wow ; well actually now days it is wow bc it used to be standard but I don’t see anyone doing it anymore … however it’s here. Regardless I doubt many will see this review but if you do and your looking for a game to have casual fun on your phone for 30-60 minutes a day ( less if you want ) … then try this … seriously when was the last time you played something on mobile that wasn’t a tUrN BaSeD hErO CoLlEcToR lol. Those other games aren’t going anywhere so if your not happy you can go back after however this game could use the support of more people showing appreciation for classic cygames / kakao mobile games.

### 5/5 — The Best Gacha game

*2023-02-03, version 0.0.57*

A Pinball adventure game that’s so much more than a pinball adventure game! Good plot, great character design (both the art&pixelated art) along with a cast of amazing voice actors.

It’s the best Gacha game I’ve ever played, and it’s kept me hooked in for over a year now.

Gacha is fair, and you get enough currency to roll for what you really need to. Since the global version follows the JP version, the advantage is that we know what characters are in the Gacha (and how strong they are) ahead of time, and we can plan accordingly.

Fair warning, progression isn’t that fast, but even without certain characters/weapons, there are lots of ways to build teams that work in certain stages/bosses. Check out the WF discord for helpful guides and team building, since they HELP A TON and make progression way easier and faster.

### 5/5 — Best mobile gacha game

*2022-11-29, version 0.0.54*

This is my favorite mobile game AND gacha game because they are so generous. Most gacha games are heavily reliant on pay-to-win, but World Flipper is not. They give you plenty of summons, enough to where the game can be greatly enjoyed without spending money. Their prices are fair as well, much more reasonable than other comparable games.

Every character is designed with heart. The pixel art as well as the CG art are beautiful. The storyline itself is wonderful. Everything about this game makes me come back daily. I hope it never ends.

### 5/5 — This game is no joke

*2022-09-28, version 0.0.50*

Hands down one of my favorite mobile games of all time. It’s easy to pick up and put down whenever you want, the gameplay is unique and satisfying, the gacha rates and availability of pulls are very generous, and the story is more engaging than you’d expect. All in all, 10 out of 10 wouldn’t ask for more

### 5/5 — Great!

*2022-09-15, version 0.0.50*

Visuals and gameplay are solid, team building is fun. I also appreciate the fact the currencies and upgrading units is very simple. However, a large problem is that unless you’re part of the discord with access to the correct translations, much of the mechanics can be misunderstood. It would be nice if there were better translations (unless it’s the story, that translation is solid).

### 5/5 — Literally the best designed mobile game ever

*2022-05-09, version 0.0.43*

I’m being completely serious when I say that I think this is the BEST mobile game I have ever played! The designers of this game thought of everything and are more interested in making the user experience incredible than making money. So many features that make this game great! Developers, you have made something incredibly fun and entertaining.

### 5/5 — Good game. Great music. Good story.

*2022-03-30, version 0.0.41*

I was actually pretty excited but a bit skeptical when I saw the screenshots of this game. A pinball RPG game where you fight enemies with some story involved. I have a hard time getting hooked with games that have a bad story.
The story is actually surprisingly good for a game (especially mobile), and the music/soundtrack is solid the entire game. Plus the bonus events got some new great music too. The developers seem to try their hardest on the soundtrack to make it amazing. Anyways, I have been playing fairly often since I started a few weeks after global release (Around 6 months I think). I played everyday almost for like the first month.
