Also if the map could have the ability to toggle off and on different detail sets, e.g. political data, topographical data, road data, etc. That would be very helpful. ### 3/5 — $2 *2022-04-21, version 2.4* two bucks ain’t much, but this app seems like it’s nothing more than five screen shots of maps found on the web lol. compared to other things at $2, this is sad. oh well. ### 3/5 — Search function could be better *2020-11-07, version 2.4* I got it so I could find cities, countries, etc... and so far it hasn’t work as hoped. I have to search the net first to find out what country it’s in then come here to find it. Works great if you are already familiar with the globe. But if your looking for a city, state, province, territory or region it is useless. For instance just to check it out, I typed California in the search bar and nothing showed. But, you can only zoom once and there is very little extra info. You get one pinch to zoom and that’s about it. For example, in the US, you look at the state of Missouri and there is one city - St. Louis. I (wrongly) expected to be able to zoom and get more detail - not the case. I was swayed by others that were looking for a replacement to the old National Geographic map and this is certainly not it. ### 5/5 — Great for what it is. *2015-08-15, version 2.0* This isn't fancy, nor does it have a lot of detail. What it does do is present locations in a very clear easy to see format. ### 5/5 — The Perfect Globe Replacement *2015-04-26, version 2.0* I rarely take the time to rate apps, but this one is perfect for my needs or anyone who wants to get a quick view of the world without having to grab the globe off your shelf or a cumbersome atlas. The great thing about this app is that it is fast and easy to scroll around the world. The reviewer who complained that it doesn't offer enough detail has perhaps mistaken the purpose of this app. If you need greater detail use Google Earth. This app is much faster than Google Earth and other detailed geography apps. It has just enough detail to get a world view without being so detailed that is bogged down, slow and hard to use. This will be the app I always go to see where things are in the world. Worth the .99 cents and more. ### 5/5 — World Map *2015-03-23, version 2.0* For 99 cents it cannot be beaten. This is what I have looked for in the app section for a long time - a simple map with great boundaries and all of the countries in the world well delineated without tricky navigation. The “search” function is simply a list that you have to scroll thru to find a country (can’t search for cities). The “detailed” map of each country that does show some cities is tiny — the size of a postage stamp — and can’t be expanded to the full screen. I feel its not worth .99 cents or having on my iPad. The reason is the map doesn't have much detail, you cant zoom in only see basic details and not worth it. It won't fit on a screen and can't be shrunk, has no features allowing one to zoom in on cities, and isn't worth the modest price.
