A lot of toxic behavior in the players holding hero’s after elimination is available. If you don’t have a pill you are screwed for the time plus an extra 24 hours depending. No hero, it screws you in other areas. Anyways the review is honest and I think most stay for their team, I did. ### 2/5 — Frustrating *2020-05-17, version 5.0.12.73* The only reason I have not yet deleted this game is my alliance. There are some great people playing this game. And the game itself can be fun. However, it’s extremely frustrating that in a “free” game, the ONLY way to have a chance to win is to spend money, and lots of it. It doesn’t matter how engaged you are with the game otherwise (in terms of hours, actions, whatever). There are things like heroes and squad members that you can only get with real money, and if you don’t have them, you lose. And in my region, at least some of the big spenders (or allies of big spenders) run rampant bullying everyone else. I understand that the developers have to make some money, and I am willing to spend some money on entertainment. I’ve already bought my first pack. But I’ve been reading other reviews about how the spending cycle in this game never stops. I am going to keep playing for now and see how fun this game remains when I can be periodically zeroed by big spenders. But my money is going elsewhere. ### 2/5 — Disappointed after over a year *2020-05-06, version 5.0.12.72* I have been playing for over a year with multiple accounts and a few purchases. I have spent many, many hours playing and there is a reason for the recent influx of 1 star reviews. Here are my observations: Fun - this game is fun and I like the concept very much, but after over a year it feels like the game is turning into a cash grab before the developers ax the project altogether. Expensive - this game is basically pay-to-play. While you can play without purchasing packs, you have no hope of keeping up and the players which do are heavily favored, so expect to get wiped out regularly unless you are prepared to spend some serious coin. Glitchy - there are lots of glitches which are exploited by other players and, in a game which is already an uneven playing field, you may question whether it’s worth paying more. Don’t expect stellar support when things go sideways either (and they will go sideways). In short, there is a reason there are a lot of 1 star reviews. It’s fun, but not that fun. Jump on a new app, have fun, spend money if that makes you happy, but leave this game to its ultimate fate; you’ll be happier in the long run. ### 2/5 — Aimed solely at getting your money *2020-01-24, version 5.0.12.72* This game has decent gameplay and can get you playing for hours. As with many other pay to win games obviously the whales will always be far ahead of you. My main gripe is that events even for people in your same region, have different prizes and rewards. The “deals” are also different for every person so even if you want to spend money you have to first buy a random $5, $20, $50, and $75 upon which every future pack will then be $100 dollars and then be the same as everyone else's. New feature will always be pay walled for a month or two before you can start to unlock them in events. They do a good job keeping the free to play and casual spenders from fall too far behind but it is annoying you don't even have the option of grinding for the new features. Many of their drops and percentage rates are lies. Some of the syndicates don't even drop what is listed. ### 1/5 — Terrible game complete cash grab *2019-10-02, version 4.5.18.62* The game is a complete cash grab, the packs keep going up in price and never come down. They design this game to be pay to play. If you don’t buy packs weekly you will fall behind and not be able to compete. There is a complete lack of integrity by adding the option to purchase tokens to win titles instead of earning them. The customer service is terrible, they send you generic responses and never actually answer your questions or acknowledge the issues with the game. It is constantly freezes and freezes or lags and constantly needs to be force closed and restarted. Which is also their solution for every glitch and failure by the developers and programmers. This is definitely a game to avoid. You can only succeed if you spend thousands and up to tens of thousands of dollars. Same events different name everything is repetitive. They only thing new is the ways they try to force you to spend money. ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2019-09-23, version 4.5.18.62* Been playing this game for almost 6 months now. And, I’ve spent good money to build my base up. The problem lies in the inconsistencies. There are many players that spent way more money than others. Which is obviously the person’s choice. These players can be a level 60 or higher. And, have millions of troops. They will do what is commonly called “zeroing”. Wiping out all that a much smaller base has spent money to build. And, not everyone can afford to spend the money to get to said level. It is this very reason that has caused many players to quit. If the developers built in safety nets that disallowed bases that are more than 5 levels higher no option of “hitting” smaller bases. I.e. a level 60 base cannot hit a level 54 base. Please do something to fix this. You’ll be rated so much higher. The game will be much better. And, you won’t loose the players like you do now. ### 2/5 — Total waste of time unless you want to spend money *2019-09-16, version 4.5.18.62* It’s VERY addictive but once you get past level 15, you can’t do much without spending money to “buy” packs and resources. They really push you to your lints after spending weeks building yourself up to that level and then being frustrated because every task takes hours and days to complete unless you spend money to buy packs. Plus there aren’t any real battles. It’s just chit chat between players and each egging the other to spend money to buy more and “upgrade”. The battles are just for name sake. It’s nothing like the ads you see when they make you download the game. Unless you want to spend $$$$ avoid the frustration and stay away. If you’re willing to spend $$$ to stroke your ego with points and resources so for it, it’s your money!! ### 1/5 — WARNING!! The developers cheat players! *2019-09-15, version 4.5.18.62* I have spent over $900 in playing this game. Then another region used old emails from a region that was awarded gifts from an upgrade to say they missed the freebies. They were given free upgrades to the highest VIP levels, something it would cost players in our region THOUSANDS of dollars to match. As a result, our region is beat by them in every head to head contest simply because they all outrank us now through cheating. It has been repeatedly pointed out to support but they simply respond with “sorry”. I will NEVER spend another dime on this game and I encourage everyone else to not waste their money. The developers will simply give someone else a free boost to continually keep you on the losing side. This could have been a great game that I would have supported for many years had it not been for this. DO NOT waste your time and hard-earned money on a game that rewards cheating instead of honest play. ### 1/5 — The ad for this game is a softlock *2019-08-25, version 4.2.14.38* Yeah so, im sure this game is fun and whatever, but the ad for it is a total nightmare. The first time i got the ad, it was pretty fun. I realised there was no way to exit it after 5-10 seconds, so i figured i’d be able to after the demo was over. The demo was really, really long though, and the whole time i was just thinking: “man, when is this going to end?”. After quite a while, it said: “Congratulations! You won!” So i was thinking: “yes, i can finally get back to my game!”. But the option to exit it never appeared. All i could do was close my game and open it again. Now, the thing is, i was playing a game where you had to save manually, and I hadn't saved in a long time, and i had finally beat this one part that took me hours to beat. So i had to do it again. 2 hours later, i beat the one part and i get the ad again. Then again. Then again. So this unexitable ad wasted 8 hours of my day. Please add the option to exit it after you beat it, or during the demo it’s self. At least the demo was entertaining, however. I’ll give you guys credit there. ### 1/5 — Greed and Updates *2019-07-05, version 4.2.14.38* These are the two best words to describe this game! Don’t bother playing this ‘free’ game unless you have literally thousands of dollars to waste on it! Even then don’t just rush to buy any packs because they just release a new, better pack the following week! For the impatient players, they now have packs so you can rush your base straight to level 30 or 40, making it completely unfair to all us players who have been spending months just to get to level 20!!! Seriously, this game is about to die from the developer’s own stupidity! Updates are being released at least daily - if not 2-3 times a day! The standard troops have become completely useless because mercenary units are the main focus, upgrading and research now takes literally YEARS - real time! - to complete, and high ranking players farm other bases not even half their size just to boost their stats! ### 1/5 — Play to win - sucker no more *2019-05-21, version 4.2.14.38* After getting this game I loved it at first. The graphics are sharp, though I did have to get a bigger phone to read some of the fonts. And gameplay is reasonably straight-forward and understandable. I joined an alliance and participated in team building for points, power, rewards, etc. Unfortunately, I no longer have any enjoyment in the game or trust in the developers. It is simply a play to win game. If you cannot or will not pay to advance your base quickly, you cannot compete or be successful. And now twice in 5 days the devs dropped region vs region raids with no warning and no prep time that resulted in many bases being zeroed out of resources and troops. The only way to recover quickly is with real money. I regret the months and hundred of dollars that I’ve wasted lining the dev’s pockets. I was a sucker. I quit. ### 1/5 — Total crap *2019-05-19, version 4.2.14.38* Here’s the thing, this game should be good, hell it should be great. There are a lot of people spending a lot of money on this game every month, but there are a lot of glitches. I constantly see glitches of resource tiles showing up, showing you what’s in them but when you send troops they aren’t there any more. Shields not staying up for the determined amount of time, or assaults not working as they should. Just know if you get into this game you will need a lot of money. your first pack will be around $5 Then $20 Then $49 Then everything will be at $99, every pack, no matter what, forever. This is how they built this once you buy a pack the cost goes up and stays up. You will never catch up to those who are spending heavy on this game. Another thing to know is that there are fake accounts (probably the devs) that are there to get you to buy into this game. You can tell with bases that are at the max level withinthe first few minutes of it being added to the game. The latest additions the “sky wagon” takes 7 days to build....just think abut that. Not game days actual days...this is a money grab nd nothing else, if the devs at least too part of the piles of money they are getting and updated the actual mechanics a bit maybe it wouldn’t be such a glitch fest. ### 3/5 — Needs more balance *2019-04-26, version 4.2.14.38* I enjoy this game a lot. Only problem is the packs cost so much only those like me who have the ability to pay can keep up. There’s players that can afford much more then even I can, this causes alliance to lose members because they can’t spend to keep up. Or people end up selling their account because the time and money they’ll have to put in ends up not being worth it. I’ve decided that until a small balanced has been established (like lowering the cost of packs OR having more price options available) I’ll no longer give this game my money. It’s better off in real investments anyways. That being said, I’m a huge gamer and enjoy spending on games that aren’t ruined by what appears to be corporate greed or quarter quotas. Would love to be able to change the rating to 5 stars! ### 1/5 — Another deceptive game developer *2019-03-25, version 4.2.14.38* I made 2 accidental purchases on the game. The first one being $5 which I was going to let go of since it was my mistake for not waiting for purchase screen to load before pressing home button which activated fingerprint sensor and confirmed a purchase. The 2nd time, however, the purchase screen loaded after the game screen was already active. And while the spinning icon was in the middle signifying a process, I turned off the device fearing another purchase. Upon pressing home button, which I should haven used a different finger for, another purchase went through somehow without any prompt screen of a purchase. It could be Apple device fault as well but upon contact game developers they have no concern for it and just rather keep the money they did not earn in a shiity game. Play Lords Mobile instead. ### 2/5 — Bad experience with In-Game purchases *2019-02-08, version 3.33.2.36* I’ve had a horrible experiencing when it comes to the In game purchases. First, the game charged me for a $5 pack that I purchased by mistake because every time you re-open the game, a pack comes on the screen. I messaged the developers asking if I could basically return the items to get my money back and they did not help. I went with it since it was only $5. Later on, I wanted to actually buy a $20 pack, but when I purchased the pack, they gave me the totally wrong one! So now they’ve basically took $25 from me and I’m pretty confident I’m done with any more purchases and maybe the game as a whole. It’s fun, but you have to pay to have any success.. and when your purchases are wrong or not what you want, then there’s really no point. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Expensive, not fun to play *2021-07-18, version 8.3.3.112* This game is impossible to play if you do not have the means to spend at least $100 every few days. All upgrades run on timers, so even if you have the resources, it could be hundreds of days before an upgrade is available to you. As I type this, I am working on an upgrade that will require over 200 days before I can use it. In contrast, the game developers have a means of playing for free, which ensures they have the best bases and equipment. They basically get to bully players that are actually trying to play for free. It is very frustrating to build up your base using what is available, just to have someone who did not have to pay for anything come and burn it down while you were not looking at your phone. ### 1/5 — Glitchy, money grab, horrible customer service *2021-05-07, version 8.1.6.107* This game started off well. But it goes down hill and never gets better. The thing that gets you is the people. You build friendships and you keep coming back for that. But honestly, it’s no way to play for free. Literally, NO WAY TO PLAY FOR FREE. You are going to spend money, and a lot of it, it you actually want to play. Otherwise you’re only playing for the social aspect. On top of that the game messes up A LOT! Packs (which are really expensive) sometimes miss things. There is false advertising, you will buy something as it reads, but in reality need to buy something else to use those items. It’s always a catch. And to top everything off. Support is absolute crap. It’s a bunch of robots sending generic copy and pasted responses over and over. And they will tell you “we’re letting our team know” or give you some totally useless slap in the face gifts and hope you give up messaging them. I’m actually very disappointed I am playing again. This game should face lawsuits and should be shut down. So take my advice and DO NOT play this game or anything like it. ### 1/5 — Sloppy Developers and Poor Customer Service. *2021-03-10, version 7.0.9.100* After playing Game of War, Mobile Strike and Final Fantasy for the past 7 years, MZ (or whoever owns them now) has finally given up on making any sort of effort to satisfy their customers who spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on this game. Yes, the engine is still the same as the provokes games, but the people in charge of the events and graphics are simply phoning it in at this point and don’t care at all about the quality of their product. After over a year in Carbon 331, we still get the same problems. Events that are inconsistent with their weekly announced schedules, points that are not correctly rewarded, and graphical glitches despite playing on the newest devices. This is such a shame since the engine of this game was already established and successful. It may finally be time to stop handing them my money and delete this app for good. ### 1/5 — Beware!! Don’t download! Don’t play! You have other options! *2020-08-07, version 6.0.17.87* This game is extremely deceiving! They sell you packs and then take what you purchase away and state they made a mistake. But then they don’t give you the option to get your money back, they just give you something else that you don’t need and claim they are trying to keep the game fair for everyone! It happened to me twice and NOBODY in support did anything about it and also made me feel like they don’t need my money! The packs are awful! They add items to your pack to make you feel like you’re getting a Big Bang for your buck, but you gather all these items you will never use (or have a surplus) and they don’t give you an option to turn those purchased useless items into other items you actually need! Lastly, there’s NO WAY for you to actually know how you measure your base against others! You never know what results you’re going to get when attacking or defending. The game is heavily geared towards defense, so this way you spend and spend to increase your attack hoping that you can win, but then you lose! Later in the game you start winning constantly but lose all your troops and have to keep buying packs to build your troops and health. The makers of this game play a psychological game with the user. If you play this game, the creators will own you! I made sure to quit and made sure that all the other spenders in my alliance and region also left! The developers of this game are criminals! ### 1/5 — The support is horrible *2020-04-29, version 5.0.12.72* Horrible support. I loved playing with the people in my alliance and the region. I’ve played for almost a year now and grind away trying to spend as little as possible and stay relevant. I liked that they would have packs that gift stuff because that gave some of us that were a little big behind a chance to catch up, However, there support is what has sealed the deal for my departure of this game that used to bring me joy, I was zeroed in one hit because there was an error with my shiled I was desperately trying to shiled my base and refreshed the app. I had no luck at shielding. I know it was a Hugh rally and no way I could survive so I said I’m shielding to I would have no reinforcements. I had no banners and the wrong hero in the wrong gear up. I was destroyed wrongfully. If I had planned on taking the hit I would have had the proper setup and my alliance members were there to rein it I was shielding and that failed. All I got from the developers was refreshe you app and device. Make sure you are using stab,e internet we hope this helps. No nope doesn’t help. Sent several replies with nothing. I know others who have had similar issues and got troops back. But I’ve not spent like that so I don’t get that same treatment. The developers are the problem with this game. ### 1/5 — Another MZ Money Pit *2020-04-24, version 5.0.12.72* Yes this game is technically free to play. But it has been designed so that it is virtually impossible to be successful at anything without opening up your wallet. This has been this developers MO since Game of War. If they tailored the game differently to allow free-to-play to still exist successfully alongside their paying players they wouldn’t have to keep reskinning their game engine and starting over. But maybe that’s how they like it; milking their community for all it’s worth then rebooting to a new game and starting the process over again. Additionally, they’ve designed their in-game purchases so deceptively that they pop up randomly when you are tapping away on the screen as if they are trying to get you to accidentally make a purchase. From there, their customer service is nonexistent and you are left without a refund. I still can’t understand why Apple doesn’t shut this developer down. ### 1/5 — Money hog rip off *2020-04-17, version 5.0.12.72* This game is fun and all at first. But the pack pricing is more than out of control. $99 dollar packs that you would need to buy weekly just to stay current in the game otherwise your base would be so weak you can’t actually participate in most challenges or attack/defend your base. This game will crumble in the same way final fantasy already has. I feel sorry for the people that I personally know who have sadly spent thousands on this game lol. Go out and buy a game system, a brand new laptop, a down payment on a house instead of virtual nothing. Months later same thing still in place, 90% of users have quit and failed at trying to sell their wasted base. A few rich people continue to spend thousands of dollars to feel in control. This is nothing but “Pay to win” and games like this are trash. Sadly some of the people I know have spent more than $5,000 on this waste of storage game ### 1/5 — Awful *2020-04-10, version 5.0.12.72* Terrible game!!!! Bunch of glitches, doesn’t work correctly, waste of money! It’s not worth getting this app because your first pack in the app is around $5, then $20, then $49. Then everything is $99. Shields don’t stay up for as long as they say. Assaults don’t work like they should. When you send out troops, a lot of the time they glitch and you lose them. Even the ad is terrible. TERRIBLE!! So your just on you device or whatever minding your business and the stupid ad comes up. No problem, except for the fact THAT YOU CANT EXIT OUT OF IT! Clicking the X doesn’t work so you have to complete exit out of whatever app you were on when the ad hit you. Now this is a problem because ONE it’s just really annoying and TWO if your playing an online game or a game that loses its progress once you exit out, that’s it you have to start over again. Let’s say your really far in your game and the ad just hits you, welp say goodbye to your progress. This is just a terrible game. DO NOT get it. ### 1/5 — Player beware *2019-11-30, version 5.0.12.72* I have played this game for a year. I fully understand this is a war game. I have tried to stay on top on my research and upgrading my base. After a year of trying. I have come to a point in this game, where I must make a decision to keep playing or quit. The amount of money required to keep playing is overwhelming. The players who can afford to purchase packs weekly has made this game undesirable to play. These players attacks everyone who can’t afford to keep up with the fast pace at which this game develops. The lower players can’t even participate in regular events because of the constant attacks from the high level players. If decide to play this game and purchase packs, the price increases to 99 dollars(US). Most of the time, you will need to purchase 5-6 packs every other week. Do the math, if you can keep up. Go for it. They have packs that are cheaper, but it’s rare and they don’t have the items to upgrade your base. Graphics are good, events are ok when you can participate. Developers need to find a balance to help the low spenders and or free to play person. ### 1/5 — Fun game with frustrating glitches *2019-10-02, version 4.5.18.62* Been playing in my region (iron tundra) since the start and it’s been fun! But the problem is the glitching that the developers can’t fix! The first was horrible when you tried to enter CP had to re start the game every time they finally fix it then came the contacts list black out and everyone lost the contact list then they fixed that not the event glitch that we all got screwed on still had two hours left and disappeared after spending what is my real money to place in the event it magically disappeared 2hrs early and the emails I get back are funny but my wife also plays and has had plenty of issues with the event also and they want screen shots of everything sometimes it’s easy to think about it but when stuff disappears it’s kinda hard. I’m also vip 11 and if you know anything about the packs the are $99 and so I’ve spent plenty of money on this account to have some good customer service and not send you emails telling you that don’t understand! ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Surprised Me *2018-12-19, version 3.33.2.36* To be honest, just started playing the game to get rewards from another game. At first I thought it was just like all the others. Pleasantly surprised mainly because it’s actually a lot easier than the others. As in there isn’t a thousand freakin things to upgrade and tweak to get an edge. Which means if you’re not wanting to spend a couple hundred $$ to have a chance you don’t have to. It’s simplicity at first was off-putting but now I’ve understood that’s what makes the game great. This one will definitely stick around on the phone for a while. ### 5/5 — Honestly not that bad *2018-11-07, version 3.32.7.30* I picked up this game as a free game to earn a lot of free gems for a different game. The goal was high of achieving 50k. As I started I saw and felt the cash grab side of things from the initial hurdle of heavy times and “large” resource costs. I still feel this at times but it actually can be quite enjoyable as the game feels good when you start to get the ball rolling. As I got to higher power and level I honestly started to feel like I was able to break most those hurdles and start really boosting my power. The game also provides much more free gold and other paid for currency then I’ve seen most other games provide. I haven’t paid for anything and I’ve gotten quite strong. It takes time sure but it’s meant as an idle game. Set up some goals and things for your base to work on then enjoy a different game. Once you get stronger basically if you can make your base level 10 you should be healthy enough to start really boosting your base. I enjoy the game and it was a fun little surprise I expected to get free stuff for a different game with and found a new game I’ll prolly be playing for awhile. ### 4/5 — Stuck and frustrated *2019-07-21, version 4.2.14.38* I do love this game but find it frustrating that they make it almost impossible to get ahead without spending large amount of money. Myself and many of members of my alliance are not able to build any further because of lack of the architectural plans that are needed, have won an over abundance of higher level plans and none of the level that is needed. There has got to be a way to evenly distribute the different levels so you get what may be needed what ever level you are at and accumulate for higher levels as well. Tier 3 in the millions does no good to someone needing tier 1 ### 4/5 — Great game but needs some improvements *2019-03-16, version 4.2.14.38* The game is very fun and has been very entertaining and engaging. Personally I got the game last week and I’ve already spent more than 48 hours playing. I want to play the game with my friends however when they downloaded it and got in the game they were in a different region so I couldn’t send them resources or create an alliance with them. Another thing that should be improved is the in app purchases VIP system. The cost gets too high too fast. For me I won’t spend more than $20 at a time but once you get to your second in app purchase the only available price is $50 which is something I think most people don’t want to pay. It would be great if you could purchase the same bundles more than once at the same price. Summary: region to region teleporting and in app purchases, maybe a map search to find a player’s base ### 4/5 — Gaming vs paying to upgrade *2019-03-13, version 4.2.14.38* I like the game over all. But the developer should reconsider the pay2play tiers. Each time you buy a rss pack the price goes up and up until you have to pay more for the pack then you did previously and you end up with less stuff. They should try making various price points with different amounts of stuff. I would buy smaller packs with just what I’m looking for more frequently than dropping a hundred bucks for a pack with a bunch of stuff I don’t want. Also, with the new mastery points there seems to be no way for a person with a maximum level hero to get mastery points. ### 4/5 — I’m impressed *2018-12-28, version 3.33.2.36* This game is well thought out and has pretty good graphics. I don’t have anything to really complain about except for a few graphics glitches and bugs. The only reason I’m rating it 4 stars is I have suggestions for the game that would make it a lot better. First off whenever I attack the base for some reason it won’t show the battle. I say that if you take the time to show the battle every time you attack someone I and a lot of other people would bring it up to 5 stars. I played your other game lords mobile and the one reason I liked it was because you actually shows the battle going on. Plus for some reason every time I battle someone and I win for some reason it says that the other teams guys are only injured! I never got a single stupid kill! So if you fix those two it could bump up the ratings. Oh and maybe could you make the game a little less of a money grab? Otherwise great game! 😀 P.S if you are reading this and are considering getting this game don’t just start getting in app purchases right away. ### 4/5 — A good start *2018-12-27, version 3.33.2.36* Many things are good about this game. Easy to learn, tons of variety, lots of interaction with others if you want that, but some thing can be improved. For example, in this game you will earn every point of power you gain! It could be a little more generous there. Not saying make the game a cakewalk but come on, as an alliance leader I'm having players quit because they can't advance. "Can't" is not exactly correct. They don't want to wait the amount of time it takes or pay the money, plain and simple. So my primary issue is just to be a little more generous with the power. Otherwise, the game is solid! ### 4/5 — Fun to play, but the recourses are a pain *2018-12-25, version 3.33.2.36* I personally like these games, if you’re not fighting within the center of your region, you don’t really have to pay to get ahead. Usually the outer areas are calm, quiet, and ideal for getting recourses for leveling up without the threat of being attacked. The only problem is that recourses are the biggest pain not only to harvest on your base, but also a pain to get from the scattered recourse bases. It takes hours to gather the recourses necessary to get one upgrade, then you have to do it again and it’s a huge pain to have to look every few hours just to see that you are short by a few thousand recourses. Overall, it’s definitely worth the time but not the money to play. ### 3/5 — Owen *2020-02-21, version 5.0.12.72* So I played this game for like few months already and it’s pretty good war game the only reason for the 3 starts it’s . if you don’t pay like at least 50$ after every few days and about 15$ every event witch is every 24 hours...u not going to win in any bettel after level 10. u Don’t have any options to get to high level,if you not pay, also don’t have any way to get the other stuff from play the game so u not going to enjoy mach , I was loosing even that I hade triple troops then I still loose because that pay 5$ for stronger hero . I would have given this a higher rating, but I will not for one reason, it falls into the fate that many games tend to fall into in today’s era of games, the playing style benefits the players that throw hundreds of dollars into the game whenever something new appears or whenever they need something way too much.
