There’s two problems with it that I always hope that each update will fix. The fatal error has occurred issue is constant. It crashes a lot. Fails to open it freezes. And the second is it begins to eat up so much memory on your phone it will quickly gobble up over 1GB and more if you let it There’s no reason it had to store your activities locally when the game stores them anyway as they communicate app with the game in real time. You can fix the memory hog only by uninstalling/reinstalling periodically. This will clear all your bloat from your activities from your phone .. and magic they will still be in game. The app should just have a ‘clear phone cache’ user function. Even when you can login fully, opening character view can be hit or miss. Sometimes you can’t exit it. Miss the days when you could do a 3D view of your character too. App has a lot of potential but so frustrating to use ### 4/5 — I would like a talent calculator for all of the expansions and classic servers! *2022-10-31, version 10.0.46315* I think the app is incredible, the ability to do your tables while away from home is the biggest usage of the app and the addition of the auction house was incredible however I noticed that there are apps for classic talent calcs yet the only dragon flight talent calculator is on wowhead. They also do not have an app for their website which is mindboggling but if a talent calculator could be added to this app I think it would set them above and beyond. ### 4/5 — Overall great improvements longterm *2022-08-22, version 9.2.7* Short term, the AH is bugged. I went to buy progenitor essentia which shows at 1s and the mobile AH let me buy them. Just not for 1s and didn’t show me that I’d be spending 50k gold. I tested this a bit (at my expense). I was able to buy essentia that showed for 1s for prices anywhere from 100g-5000g. That’s a big gap and nowhere does it say. Really would appreciate the bug being fixed or AH disabled. ### 4/5 — Must use English on cellphone *2022-02-25, version 3.2.42359* I live in Thailand, but the app works just fine on my cellphone. When loaded into. My wife’s cellphone, I always got “A Fatal Error” when trying to enter account name. This app ONLY works if your cellphone is set to a language supported by the app. Setting my wife’s iPhone to English allowed the app to load and work correctly. Switching back to Thai caused the app to fail again. Just FYI. ### 3/5 — Screen Size! *2022-02-24, version 3.2.42359* It does the job. It passes. It has some bugs but Blizzard is known for that at this point. I really don’t care, just bring back the full screen. In this recent update, the screen ratio became that of an iPhone 8 and I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. This wasn’t like this before this update. This a quality of life improvement that would mean another star on this review. ### 4/5 — Does What It’s Supposed To *2021-03-09, version 3.0.36857* Like the title says it does what it’s made to do. It’s nice to run missions while not at the computer, and a must have if you play a lot of alts. Sometimes I’ll log off the game to do missions with the app because it’s easier than logging in to all my alts. It does have some issues with crashing, but usually restarting the phone (iPhone) fixes that. After a restart it works well for a good long while but eventually goes back to crashing. Overall four stars because of the crashing, but that’s easy enough to fix. ### 3/5 — Not that bad *2021-01-07, version 3.0.36857* Works fine for me and does what it says it does, however I’m very disappointed to see a review stating there used to be auction house access and now there is not. Especially since there’s no AH in BFA or Shadowlands - it would be awesome to sit at work and be able to do auction stuff instead of spending game time on it. I’d give it 5 stars if that gets added. Also should add pet battles!! I need more to do while I’m at work and can’t play on the computer lol. ### 2/5 — Huge drop in quality. *2020-12-29, version 3.0.36857* I’m not sure how a company as big as Blizz goes from the old app with the AH functionality to this. The previous app was well styled, seamless and provided quite a bit more functionality. This looks like Warcraft 1 on my phone, visibly lags and basically only provides guild chat and covenant adventure access. Bring back AH, make items in guild chat clickable, bring back the old character viewer. ### 1/5 — Four stars for concept zero stars for execution. *2020-12-23, version 3.0.36857* Very frustrating that this simply does not work. Although the BFA version was clunky I could actually use it, now nothing. It does a great job of showing me the ad info during the loading, sometimes I can even get so far that I actually see a character or even a set of missions... any other actions after that and the app simply closes. Are they proud of a two star rating? Oh well, time to log in and take care of missions again. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Blizzard is scam *2022-09-26, version 9.2.45285* Do not get their Authenticator if you have to get it replaced they will absolutely scam you. My phone broke with Authenticator I’ve sent over 20 tickets in now, I’ve been charged 2 wow subscription for 4 months that I can’t cancel and my bank wants to charge me for to cancel, blizzard support just keeps sending me the same email saying they’ll fix it and for me to log in and guess what that REQUIRES MY AUTHENTICATOR, I’ve told them every ticket I can provide my ID or any information and they just keep sending the log in email. I am so sad I have been a customer of this company for over 2 decades and I will never play another one of their games. I am now having to drive to the city to close my bank altogether and get a new bank to resolve this issue. I will make my story known everywhere blizzard you seriously screwed up just to rip someone off a few months lol. ### 1/5 — The worst App on iOS *2022-05-17, version 3.2.42359* I joined back WOW two years later and I am highly disappointed with this app, it’s a same old app now even more bugs. Blizzard if you can’t handle mobile application please outsource it and please don’t annoy customers. The mobile basic functionality is TAP not Drag and Drop, in shadowlands mission tap of the follower won’t work. It take more than 30 per character on mobile however on PC it’s way faster. Make a new menu for expansion change on the screen so the single tap could change it not the 3 line confusing menu. Missions take a lot of time when completed, we have to see every mission result there must be a SKIP or SHOW ALL RESULTS BUTTON. I can help you redesign the app contact me if you like but please do fix this soon ### 1/5 — Buggy, do not send elite missions!! *2021-07-07, version 3.0.39099* Keep getting fatal errors on the elite missions, the ones for soul ash/stygia. Now as I am away on vacation (no computer to login on and resolve the missions) 3 of my 4 characters each have five of their champions stuck in different elite missions that give fatal error and are unable to be completed (despite being done for multiple days). Do not send any elite missions if you cannot potentially login to complete them manually at your mission table or your champions have a high chance of getting stuck and becoming unusable. ### 1/5 — Been rough since WoD *2021-07-06, version 3.0.39099* Since this companion app was introduced Blizzard has put forth bare minimum effort into making it work for the player. When Legion was released players lost access to WoD content, when BfA was released players lost Legion content. Both of these earlier expansions are still playable. The content for them still exists, but they were no longer supported in the app. SL made a small fix to that, players could access the two latest expansions, but still not WoD. Now after the latest update Blizzard has made it so nothing is accessible except Fatal Errors. The app is just wasted space on the device now because players cannot login. ### 1/5 — Embarrassing *2021-07-01, version 3.0.39099* It’s incredible that a 16 year old game still has so many technical problems. This app is no different. Constant freezes, crashes and disconnects, with every new update, more bugs are introduced. This is what happens when companies fire or lose their efficient talented teams through pure corporate incompetence and misplaced ideological agendas, replacing them with quotas and checklist hires. Pure and utter incompetence on full display in every aspect of the experience, from technical to game system designs. Absolutely embarrassing and unacceptable from a company this massive and profitable. ### 1/5 — Sadness *2021-05-14, version 3.0.37726* Ever since shadowlands I haven’t been able to load this app at all. I can get the downloads, it’ll take my info, then it crashes as soon as that load bar hits “full”. By the response team’s history I’m gonna guess my message won’t get read, and if it does get read it’ll be instantly dismissed, as they’ve done for every major problem since the end of mop. Game is going to crap and everything associated with it is following suit. I’ve looked at the comments here, I’m not the only one with this issue but they refuse to actively try to fix it, not even TRY. They made their money and don’t care what the average player thinks till enough of them hurt their paychecks, then they’ll care. What happened to the adventure of wow? It’s a mount grind now. No one cares how good or bad you are, if you got the mount and a pretty transmog you’ve got better chances than someone who focused on the actual skill portion of the game. Garbage staff. Absolutely garbage. This application is a shame when compared to the largest MMORPG in regards to functionality and support given the fact that according to previous reviews it’s still an issue. Blizzard needs to fix it or otherwise don’t even waste your time downloading. ### 1/5 — Buggy and Broken *2021-01-10, version 3.0.36857* I remember when the WoW application was usable and useful for staying engaged with the game while not on your gaming rig. I get that things change and maybe some of those options offered by the app may have significantly impacted gameplay in a negative way but this current version is just awful. Sure, if you can get it to work for any decent amount of time you can do some things; guild chat, adventuring table but more often than not the application is so bugged it just closes after 5 secs. I constantly have to reload it because it just randomly closes. A company as reputable as Blizzard should really provide a better and operational app. ### 1/5 — Logs out when you play WoW... why?! *2021-01-06, version 3.0.36857* Follower missions are dumb and a colossal waste of time, but this app, which can make them less annoying, logs out if you try to play WoW on your account. I can’t fathom why they’d think this is a good idea. I want to quest, not waste time on follower missions. And logging out while I’m playing defeats the entire purpose of this for me. Oh and the fact that there is no iPad layout so it looks like cockeyed hot trash on an iPad in landscape mode. Even if the layout was just to center the app letter boxed so it would show the phone app without the dumb scaling, I would accept that. But no, it doesn’t. They should have just made this a web view app, cause at least then the stupidity of device and app orientation isn’t an issue. ### 1/5 — App went from useful to useless *2021-01-04, version 3.0.36857* I miss the old days of being able to use the mobile armory and look up items and even other players!! Also, access to there auction house outside of The game was amazing for someone like me stuck unable to play fully. Now this app don’t have a single useful thing to use on it. It has been glitch free for me. ### 5/5 — Great for what it is. *2021-03-10, version 3.0.37726* First off, let me start by saying this is not a perfect app. The largest purpose of this app, to me, is to be able to remotely log into the game and send your followers out on missions for various rewards. These missions require different amounts of time to complete. I don’t get to play every day, so being able to log in for a few minutes and send the followers out on missions that only take a few hours to complete is very convenient. If you’re wanting to be able to complete as many missions as possible in the time you’re not logged into the game, this app is perfect. As for the other uses, guild chat, calendar, etc. I’m sure they’re fine and could use improvement. There’s some minor news functions, and the calendar, but it doesn’t feel like those are the POINT of the app. Missions are easier and faster to run through the app than at the in-game stations, and you can check chat anytime. The only thing I wish it did was show achievements in the app chat. My guildmates often congratulate someone and I have no idea why. I’d love to know whether people are doing old content, or collecting titles, or grinding for big achievements like TC8 or the mount collections. ### 5/5 — Great app if used properly. *2021-03-01, version 3.0.36857* The 1 star reviews are nonsense and come from players who have zero understanding of this game. Let’s break it down. Then app allows you communicate with your guild and communities. It’s other function being you can access your command table to do missions. Why people hate it: 1.When legion came out you could access your specific class hall talent tree. It was great when legion was relevant but they did away with this function before BFA dropped and there was no reason to add it back because it was unnecessary. 2. No AH. While the AH was a great addition to the app they decided to take it down due to botting. Really though, this makes sense and nobody wants to be “that guy” who says they support botting. Use this app for its intended purposes and you will enjoy it.
