Sometimes when you click on a story it opens a different one. It is very bad about this on the national stories. Memphis elementary school children can design better images and functions of this app. Call me when you fix it. Just reading one story will generate as many as 4-5 web pages. As soon as I see I’m being redirected to an advertiser’s website I go right back to the story. Then later I X out every last one of them without even looking at them. Nice try. ### 3/5 — Need text of articles not just videos *2023-03-12* Many times I find myself in situations where I cannot play a video but the segments do not include text of the video. With todays technology, it should be a no brainer to include text with video segments. Also, the only way to get out of an article with only a video is to close the app. ### 1/5 — Cannot Resume After Expanding Video *2022-08-04* When watching a video in this app, you can’t come out of that screen to go back to the dashboard to read other stories…you must close the app and start over. This prevents me from using this app and if not fixed, I will be deleting it. ### 1/5 — Great App when ads don’t get kick you out *2022-04-20, version 41.9.0* Lately whenever I open any article for a news story it kicks me out to safari and opens a link to an ad that never opens. Just a white screen. Also when you go to any story within the national headline, the back arrow in the top left corner goes away and you have to either close the app to get back to the Home Screen. Newest phone and all. Always been a problem. No other app problems but this one. FIX YOUR STUFF !!!!!!!! ### 2/5 — Hardly functional *2021-12-11* I'm writing this review during a severe weather situation and the live stream continues to freeze or turn off altogether. There's a higher ad to stream ratio, in an emergency situation I do not want to know about car insurance. I've given this a two star since it's not entirely useless but an absolute headache to deal with. Turning my device sideways resets the stream, which every time this occurs I have to watch another 15 second ad. I'm very disappointed. ### 1/5 — ADVERTISING HEAVEN‼️‼️ *2021-08-20, version 41.3.1* This app is nothing more than an ADVERTISING platform with a few news story’s sprinkled in to make it legit. It’s a 5 star ad platform and a zero stars NEWS platform‼️ Television news apps are supposed to be a service to the community NOT a source of $$$$ to the station owner, in this case, NEXSTAR. ### 1/5 — Recent upgrade *2021-03-26, version 41.0.3* They recently upgraded their app and while it looks nice it does a very poor job of having more recent headlines. I guess I’ll start using a different news network. They took the iphone app and stretched it to “fit” the iPad. It is distorted and terrible. Also, in the app there is a question “ Do you like the WREG app?” It’s an image and you can’t click yes or no. So they are pulling some sort of fast one over on you making you think you could rate it the app. What a joke. Finally, the ads play fine (makes them money) but videos don’t. They buffer and don’t stream at all. terrible app ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Update IS Just unusable now *2026-05-01* Gone to the website. It’s just completely unusable now. Just ridiculous how much it’s “bouncing” around trying to load several commercials in every conceivable place on the screen. That live stream is also adding to the demand. It’s just too much. The screen jumping around so much causes users to click on the wrong story very frequently. I just got out because it’s a waste of time now. Greed isn’t good. If people aren’t using the app they’re not seeing the ads. I’m on a strong and fast WiFi connection too. ### 1/5 — YOUR SOURCE FOR COMMERCIALS‼️ *2026-02-14, version 504.0.0* If you LIKE endless commercials then you’ve come to the right place. The app has become virtually USELESS for news stories or updates. Fox 13 has by far, the BEST local news coverage anyway‼️ ### 1/5 — Signing up is a pain *2026-01-02, version 503.0.1* I try to sign up, I open the email which opens in a browser not the app, then the app says I’m not logged in! Local news at a delay, basically useless unless you’re interested in old NEWS, nothing new nothing breaking! ### 1/5 — Don’t bet your life on it *2025-05-25, version 500.8.0* This app is never right, it will be pouring down rain and it will show no rain until after the storm has passed, however the location is correct for where I am at. It’s useless, potentially dangerous, don’t trust it. ### 1/5 — I’d paternal money to toggle be able to toggle the ads off *2025-02-05, version 500.7.0* When I’m using a News app and there is many ads as there are stories, it just bugs the heck out of me. One of the reasons I DVR my local news so I can fast forward through all the ads and get to the local news without someone trying to sell me something. Not asking them to stop selling advertising. I just want them to sell me the right to turn off the advertising when I don’t want to see the ads. I’d pay a buck or two a month to have that ability and that should be incentive enough for them to sell that product. ### 1/5 — The newly updated 2024 revision is NOT good for iPhone *2024-04-29* The News 3 WREG app typically works and functions well. However the newly released revision of this app is NOT good for iPhone users. I have an iPhone 14. All stories appear in extra large type from headline to story. The user must scroll down the page to read and the text is NOT uniform which makes read and following the information more difficult. The large text throughout isn’t useful. The stories and added photos also cannot be zoomed within the app. Some photos can be brought larger but no zoom. It has become less user friendly with the recent update and revisions. I’m probably going to delete the app as it isn’t easy to use, find and read the content as it once was. ### 1/5 — Font Too Large *2024-03-08, version 500.1.4* This used to be the go to app for local news. Now, it freezes when opened. You can’t get past the first page when asked about updates. Me causa alegria ahora poder suscribirme a su nueva aplicación de WREG 3 así estaré más informada. Ojalá también pudieran dar las notificaciones de thunderstorms y tornados en ripley ms. Pues ahora vivo aquí y no tengo acceso a televisión por cable. Esto es muy muy demasiado importante para mi pues tengo 5 hijos y quiero que siempre estén bien y seguros. Muchísimas gracias.
