### 5/5 — Finally found the vehicle maintenance tool for me

*2026-05-28*

I’ve been searching for a vehicle maintenance app that can do a few specific things in one package. I’ve tried a few dozen apps, and finally found this gem deep in my search. An extremely responsive dev with an in-app help tool was my first sign that good things were ahead. You can access your info on a web browser, it has a competent import/export system, allows me to share this info with my other drivers via a login, has the ability to break a service down by parts and labor costs, allows for unlimited vehicles, connects with various databases to pull in maintenance schedules for vehicles, recall status, and more. The only thing that’s not native is an MPG tracker, but this app isn’t advertising itself as that, so it’s fine (and I can replicate it manually if I really want to via service logging). There’s even a planning functionality that allows DIYers to lay out how they want to handle upcoming service needs. Seriously, stop reading this and at least try this app out for yourself. Once you do, perhaps you’ll stop your app search like I did!

### 5/5 — Vehicle App

This is one of the best vehicle apps I have ever used. Very useful and helps with any auto, rv, etc. Thanks!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9.1 — 2026-08-19

Planning and Schedule
• Bulk actions stay put. Complete Selected and Plan Selected now pin to the
bottom of your schedule, so they're still there after you scroll down to
  tick items off.
• No accidental double-completions. Items you've already finished are no
longer swept into a batch complete.
• Item edits stick. Reassigning work to a generator, engine or other asset
now saves and shows correctly straight away.
• Shop invoices. Record a bill split into labor and parts, and see it read
back the way it was written.
• Planning a milestone no longer disconnects the completions already logged
  against it.

Parts
• Parts can be assigned to a specific asset. On a rig with more than one
meter, a generator part is now measured against generator hours instead of
  borrowing the odometer.
• Parts that aren't assigned to anything explain where their remaining-life
figure came from, instead of hiding it.

Service history and readings
• A more accurate oil monitor: "last service" is ordered correctly, and a
newer oil change now supersedes an older reading everywhere it appears.
• When you correct a service record's mileage, the app offers to carry that
  correction onto the vehicle's odometer.
• Long manufacturer service names no longer block a completion from saving.
• Guides save reliably, and a failed save now tells you instead of failing
  quietly.

Sign-in, startup and reliability
• Cancelling a biometric prompt is treated as cancelling, not as an error,
and a stuck sign-in credential repairs itself.
• The app no longer waits indefinitely on an unresponsive server at launch,
and a slow start now reports why.
• Recall checks stay quiet during upstream data outages instead of raising
  false alarms.

RVs
• Legacy chassis records are retired and their work re-homed to the vehicle,
so schedules and history line up.

Plus subscription accuracy fixes and a long list of smaller corrections.

### 1.8.19 — 2026-08-05

Startup fixes and a fuel card fix.
• Fixed a rare issue where the app could get stuck on the loading screen
• Fixed the Fuel card showing a dash instead of your total after logging your first fill
• Faster startup, especially the first launch after installing

Thanks for using Wrench Wise. Have a suggestion? We read every message.

### 1.8.17 — 2026-08-04

NEW
• Tap to copy your VIN, HIN, PIN, serial, or trailer registration straight from the vehicle summary.
• Parts can now be bound to a specific asset — engine, generator, chassis, coach — so history and remaining life resolve against the right one. The asset picker is reachable when editing a part, not just when adding it.
• Hour-metered equipment now tracks part life in hours instead of being forced onto mileage.
• Fuel and charge entries fill in the station name while you're still entering the fill, rather than after you save.

FIXED
• Editing a service record's date now actually saves it. The edit went through, but the date stayed on its old value.
• An item completed early now shows as Completed on the milestone you completed it from, instead of vanishing and reappearing as pending on a later one.
• Deleting a schedule item now asks first. The trash icon in the item grid deleted immediately, with nothing to undo it.
• Parts on a service record no longer show up as just "Part." Records already missing their part details are repaired automatically.
• Personal watercraft now show their HIN on the vehicle summary — the identifier row was missing entirely.
• The service detail sheet no longer squeezes into a narrow column on phones, repeats its own description, or shows an empty $0.00 cost breakdown.
• A schedule containing an item with a 0-mile interval no longer hangs while loading.
• Preferred-part suggestions no longer cross between assets, so a generator part stops being offered for the engine.

### 1.8.14 — 2026-07-30

Tire recall scanning
• Scan your tires against NHTSA recall data right from Tire Management, with a clear result for every tire and a scan history you can revisit.
• Recall data refreshes daily, so new campaigns appear without you lifting a finger.
• Smarter recall matching means far better coverage of affected tire sizes.

A maintenance schedule that tells you the truth
• When your schedule runs longer than the display limit, the app now says so instead of quietly cutting the list short — and shows that limit in your own units.
• Oil and air filter status now reflect reality, and By-Time and By-Hours items show up correctly on mobile.
• Fixed asset-scoped items missing from asset views, asset reassignment not saving, and filters matching the wrong asset.
• Re-applying a schedule can no longer double your items. OEM items removed by an import come back, while anything you deleted yourself stays deleted.

Sync conflicts you can actually answer
• A conflict now arrives as a banner with a sheet you can open when you're ready, instead of a modal that blocks the app.
• The conflict screen no longer warns that your record is about to be wiped when it isn't.
• Closed several paths that could silently drop a record or lose an edit.
• Odometer and hour readings now carry an accurate "as of" date on every save.

Signed-in devices, rebuilt
• Device management is organized around real device identity, so the list matches the devices you actually use — with clearer session expiry and a security email when a device is signed out.

iPad
• Fixed the header sliding under the status bar and the app shell scrolling when it shouldn't. Safe-area insets are now read from the device instead of estimated.

Parts
• Part history is ordered by relevance, and "Used by services" is scoped correctly with duplicates removed.

Also in this update
• Security and privacy hardening across sign-in and session handling.
• Data ownership and export fixes, plus a broad round of stability and performance work.
• Other bug fixes and stability improvements

### 1.8.7 — 2026-07-27

Fuel and charging, rebuilt

• Log a fill in seconds — enter any two of price, volume, and total, and the third is worked out for you
• Track DEF separately on diesels, with its own quantity and cost
• Record fuel discounts and rewards, including pump pricing that settles later
• Station memory fills in the vendor from past stops nearby
• Optionally tag each fill with where you filled up
• A new Fuel card on the dashboard shows spend and economy at a glance
• Choose your own economy unit: MPG (US or UK), km/L, or L/100km
• Fuel trends with charts for economy, spend, and running costs (Pro)
• Your entry is saved automatically if the app closes mid-fill

Parts that track their own life

• See remaining life on every part, with overdue and due-soon badges
• Filter to just the parts needing attention
• Mark parts replaced or inspected while logging a service
• Link catalog parts to schedule items so they pre-fill on your next service log
• Part detail now shows which services use it, plus its full history

Reminders that understand how you actually drive

• Reminders now fire on mileage and engine hours, not just dates
• See a predicted due date based on your real usage
• Estimated odometer between readings (Pro)
• Substantial reliability work so reminders stay accurate and in sync

Planning

• One tap creates a plan and takes you straight to adding tasks
• Copy a finished plan to a new one for jobs you repeat
• Dozens of fixes to shopping lists, notes, parts, and RV plans

Manual import (Pro)

• Upload manuals up to 100MB
• Much better at finding maintenance schedules in scanned manuals
• Clear reasons when an import fails, with one-tap retry

Fixes and stability

• Fixed a crash that could occur when opening stacked screens
• Due dates now follow your local day instead of UTC, so nothing looks due a day early
• You are now warned before any schedule setup that would erase an existing schedule
• RVs use a single odometer instead of a separate chassis reading
• Adding a vehicle no longer re-asks for year, make, and model
• Fixed tire card layout, keyboard behavior, and sideways scrolling on several screens
