I enjoy everything about this game, but I reached a bug that doesn’t allow me to proofread in the game and I’ve been waiting for a month and it’s still not fixed. I would love to be able to finish this game and have it fixed. ### 2/5 — Can’t progress game *2023-10-02* I also am stuck in the same match where you go for the Long Count and nothing happens. Current bug won’t allow the pin to happen in the final lesson quest match at Wild Palms. Looks like others have the same issues. Can’t advance the game. No amount of reloading from past save or reloading game itself fixes the problem. Match will not progress when objective is to get long count pin ### 2/5 — Fun game too many bugs *2023-09-09* I loved the nostalgia of the game and the story line is solid. Movement of the character is a bit tough to get used too. The biggest problem is the bugs. many of the items cannot be used, there’s a number of story lines that get stuck on bugs and have to be reset in order to complete them. I’m finally stuck on a story line that I can’t move past because it won’t let me pin the teacher in the robot/teacher tag battle in paradise. It just stays there without any prompt to pin. No matter the settings or how many times it always stops at that moment and I cannot progress any further in the game. I survive the chair shots, beat the robot and need to go for a long pin…and nothing. Story mode can be repetitive at times when you’re fighting random characters but overall would’ve gotten 4.5 stars if the game actually worked all of the time and minimal bugs. Great variety or story and the switching between characters was a solid idea executed well. ### 2/5 — Mobile version needs work *2023-09-03* Was so excited about this game on console and probably should have just played that instead of the mobile one. Touch controls are terrible. Specifically the dance club in Boxwood and the boss fight in Wasteland Wrestling Ring. Neither of these events should be impossible to complete due to this problem. Just fix the touch controls please because otherwise this game is so great! ### 2/5 — Could have been good *2023-08-26* The WWE tie in is so unwelcoming to a game called wrestle quest. I wasn’t a fan of Macho Man, and I definitely don’t want to hear voice snippets that have NOTHING to do with the game. I’m all for a wrestling rpg game, but this isn’t it. Turn based but with swiping timers, button mashing, other non turn based actions. It’s a good attempt but it lacks any sort of creativity for making your own sprite wrestler. I’d compare it to Golf Story if you could only play as Tiger Weeds and was a direct tie in to PGA. But GS is far superior to this mish mash. ### 2/5 — Fun Premise but Repetitive and KILLER Bugs *2023-08-26* Great art, fun world, and TONS of potential. However the gameplay itself is stale, wading through the story is slowwwwwww and like many folks I got stuck my an apparently fatal bug in the early “Boneyard” section. Even after a recent update my save seems unsalvageable. For all these reasons I’m going to quit this one BUT I would definitely try a sequel in a couple of years. ### 2/5 — Bugs *2023-08-26* 1. Cannot use permanent stat boost items 2. Can buy items in shop for free. Click on the item, then click on a character, book, takes over their inventory slot 3. DDR-like controls in Boxtown is poor on mobile 4. Triple threat boss fight where you have to steal, have them down your character, and then let them use their special maneuver always ends up in game over, even if you dodge the wrecking ball. I’m sure I will find more bugs as I progress. I’m giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because I don’t want developers to start making wrestling games. Quite frankly, there aren’t enough wrestling games out there so it would be great to have more but please just make a good one. One that is not affiliated with WWE. ### 2/5 — Buggy but beautiful *2023-08-24* Great game. But I’ve experienced a game breaking bug in backbreaker boneyard. Once exiting a battle, the map opens but my character isn’t anywhere on the screen. It took that long just to be able to do something and then the screen goes black and you have to wait some more. It says you have to log in to your Netflix acct - no big deal. It does the accept my very correct email and password… ### 1/5 — No Sound *2023-08-28* Since I already had Netflix I went ahead and downloaded the game with the intention of buying a physical copy for the switch from Mega Cat studios if I enjoyed it. I love some pixelated goodness. Unfortunately there is no sound when I play the game on a iPhone 11 with latest iOS. Event spent the time to delete and re-download the game. Jeff Jarrett is still a carny I see. ### 1/5 — Game is BROKEN *2023-08-23* Played it for awhile made it to the first area called the boneyard where a glitch happened where the character is off the screen and now it’s stuck no matter where I move, forcing me to restart…which nope. Game doesn’t deserve it, on top of that there is this horrible dance mini game where the arrows are placed in the worst way and it is beyond frustrating to play with where the arrows are placed, so many times I would push the down arrow and it wouldn’t work, whoever took part in making that should be ashamed. I was really looking forward to this game but I’m not going to start over as the beginning is very slow, not a great first impression, didn’t enjoy the main character being a macho man rip off and the mobile version is just straight uncomfortable to play. But… *2023-08-29* I really enjoy playing this game BUT I’ve had to reset my story twice now and I’m anticipating more due to glitches that I hope are eventually fixed. But with that said this IS an amazing game! I love the story thus far, the graphics/concepts, and I would HIGHLY recommend just have patience with it as I said I hope future updates fix this glitches/bugs ### 4/5 — Very good game. Would recommend. But.. *2023-08-31* I loved this game since the first time i saw it 8 months ago. And was so excited for it. And it DID live up to the hype. Its fun. Engaging. A little slow but i dont mind and makes me want to make a game like this. There IS a game breaking bug tho. When i get to the final match with old school, and get to the “go for a long count” section. The game doesn’t load the cutscene and is softlocked. I replayed the game to see if it fixed it but NOPE not at all. If you fix this bug at any point it would be a 5 star so i can get farther and be more into the game as a whole. Other then the glitch that has to make you restart its a fantastic game and I recommend to everyone who likes wrestling/Rpgs ### 4/5 — Good Game - Terribly Designed Mini-Game *2023-08-26* I was going to rate this a 3, but only because of the dancing mini game that just made me quit to come write this. Who thought it was a good idea to place the Left arrow above the Up arrow? Not only that, why are they so tiny and placed on the bottom corners of the screen? I used emojis below as a visual representation of the arrows during the mini game. ⬅️⬅️⬅️ ⬅️⬅️⬅️ ⬅️⬅️⬅️ ⬆️⬆️⬆️ ⬆️⬆️⬆️ ⬆️⬆️⬆️ I used 6 emojis for each button to give a rough estimate on the size. Should definitely be a bit smaller though. Imagine that on the bottom corner of your screen with no space between the 2 buttons. Okay now that my rant is out of the way. Game overall has been great. They’ve made the turn based battles interactive so you’re not just pressing a button and waiting. Exploration could use some work but it’s better than nothing at all. Wide range of equipment. Funny dialogue. Movement outside of the world map is way too slow. When it comes to RPG games I like to finish all side quests before moving forward so I’ll be waiting to see if the mini game ever gets fixed. I really enjoy challenges so just making the buttons a bit bigger and adding some spacing would be perfect. If you don’t mind that at all you should definitely play this game if you’re interested. ### 3/5 — Entertaining but flawed *2023-09-26* Honestly my biggest complaint is quick time event detection for example I get downed get a pin attempt against me so now I need to tap it 18 times to save myself on a 3 count so what do I do tap it fast? ok but 4 out of 5 taps are ignored and 1…2.. I end up with 11 taps out of 18 even though I did it fast enough for 30 so I change to my thumb it hits 16 too slow try both thumbs? Maybe 8 taps register I appreciate the Mario rpg interactions but when a slide gone wrong means death in some scenarios or when my taps fail to register it can make a person want to call it quits for more than just a break my advice lower the difficulty especially in timed situations and accuracy of the command maybe console users don’t have these problems but iPads do. You have a good thing going with this game I hope to see sequels with more move type attacks like a regular game of this type would have along with take downs but making the gameplay more bearable for situations where you can’t leave and under trained would be a good step to getting there. ### 3/5 — Backbone support please! *2023-09-19* Like the game but it would be a lot better with controller support. When you get to the point where it says give them the long count, the moves disappear and there are no prompts, so you can’t proceed.
