And that’s on the small A option font. Fix it please. ### 4/5 — WRIC App - Settings and Privacy *2024-05-28, version 500.1.4* The app is okay; however, when you go to settings and click on, “Settings & Privacy” at the bottom, nothing happens and the screen disappears. However, I’m taking 3 stars off of my rating because it keeps opening my internet browser when I use it. When I tap on and open an article in the app, it’ll subsequently open my internet browser, open a new tab, and pull up a blank page. It only recently started doing this, and not only is it obnoxious, but it also feels like a huge security risk. If the developers fixed this issue, I’d happily give the app a 5 star rating. There are so many ads everywhere though. I click on the notifications and it takes me into the app but first I have to look at a full screen ad that has to be swiped away before I can read the story. Also some of the ads that are persistent on every screen are those real low quality click bait ads like “do this one trick to lose 50 lbs”. ### 2/5 — App Ignores Notification Preferences *2021-01-26, version 40.34.380050616* This app is a fine news app, but if you’re someone who likes control of notifications, don’t get it. Within the settings on the app, you can pick what type of notifications you want to get — traffic, local news, weather, breaking news, sports, etc. However, the app ignores your selections in those settings and notifies you of everything. So it’s an all-or-nothing proposition with notifications. As a result, you will get about 10 notifications per day about everything from a new hot chocolate recipe to a traffic accident on a road you never travel, to a robbery at a nearby store. The articles are diverse and written with higher quality than NBC12 or CBS6, but this app must’ve been designed as a beta. Once I select which features I want I’m taken to the weather locator page. Here I select my location then nothing happens. I’ve tried it countless times including deleting the app, downloading it fresh and still the same problem. Please help. ### 1/5 — Recent update *2024-02-11, version 500.1.1* Your recent update has made the app unusable on my phone. It required me to input new alerts, but stops at the weather alert. The button to accept or deny doesn’t show onscreen, and can’t scroll down to access it. The news app has way too many ads, so I wasn’t using it much anyway. I put up with it for a while, but finally deleted and went to a competitor with a better app tonight when the videos in the news stories took over my device’s audio automatically. Worst news app. Never takes you to the news story when you make a selection. First it throws up an advertisement video that has to be swiped up, then it takes you to a video for newsnation, then it takes you to a video of the news story. Why not just render the written news instead since you may not be in a place to have a video stream. Once you finally make it to the story you want it is so slow to load because so many ads are stuck in the middle of the article I just close out and go to a different news channel to read the news there. Suppose I’m in a setting where I need to be quiet and just wanna check on a story, did y’all ever think about that before just letting it talk out loud at random 2. The app constantly freezes. It just pauses while reading so I have to close it out and open it up again. 3. The app just crashes while reading it so I have to open it up again and it’ll crashes again.
