This is what I do not like about this. But if you need to get familiar with the printed letters (what you will read in text), it helps but it is very limited. ### 3/5 — Language stuck *2025-11-19, version 4.5.15* I was using it to learn Hebrew characters. After a couple of weeks, it switched to Klingon and would never get out of it. While it worked, it was a good product. One it's free, two it's not like to hard on you if you get anything wrong, three it's so simple and neat, four it doesn't make you rush. Like if you got all three stars on level one and you want to do it again you can 🤗! Five and finally the ads that it has (which they dont have a lot) are not inappropriate! I just found this app and it has already helped me memorize the letters but Ayin doesn’t seem to work for me. I really needed to hear the sound and practice the writing like a kindergartner to retain it faster. I love the practice, testing and the timing of it. It really makes me learn faster. Great for beginners, although not all the letters are listed. Not a complete Hebrew alphabet. I submitted a complaint 3 years ago about this app not teaching Hebrew writing script, but only block printed letters. There has been nothing done about that since then. I would totally get this app if they would let me practice writing in Hebrew the way it is done in Israel. That means the developers don’t care at all. ### 1/5 — Would love to upgrade *2020-09-07* This app is EXACTLY what I was looking for, and works beautifully. My spouse is a Jewish educator and is really excited to recommend this to students. However, I would love to pay for the upgrade to use the custom review feature (I’d like to be tested on the whole pool of letters, not just the chunked batches in the lessons) and nothing happens when I click the green $4.99 button. When I tried clicking “Restore Purchases” just to see if I could get to the upgrade page that way, it crashes the app. I tried resetting my data in the app, deleting and re-installing the app - nothing. I am trying to give you my money but there’s a bug that won’t let me! No nonsense, pure memorization through repetition. No better way to learn besides pencil and paper. Writing the characters engages your brain in a different way than rote memorization alone. The main Write It app is equally bare bones but features quite a few languages. The only thing is that I don’t know how to make an account, because I only see a sign in option, but I can’t sign in because I don’t have an account.
