## What is Write Kanji and Kana?

Nazoru helps you practice writing Japanese, whether you want to follow your own path inside the app or practice the kana and kanji you are already seeing in your studies and daily life.

Use Nazoru as a companion to tools like WaniKani, Bunpro, Anki, and more, or start directly in Nazoru with the Paths tab. You are not locked into one study system. You can practice from external exposure, follow a path from scratch, or move between both whenever it makes sense for you.

One of Nazoru’s core ideas is Exposed Kanji: the kanji you have actually encountered in other apps, in words, in phrases, or out in the real world. When you sync with supported study tools, Nazoru can organize practice around what you have recently seen, what you may be getting wrong, and what needs attention next.

Start by tracing each character, then gradually rely less on guides as practice becomes more challenging step by step. Practice hiragana, katakana, kanji, words, or complete phrases, and build confidence as your writing memory gets stronger.

Nazoru helps you focus on what needs attention most. Memory strength shows when a character is starting to fade, and fading kanji are shown first so you can review them before they slip away. You can also practice similar and easy-to-confuse kanji together, making it easier to notice small differences and avoid common mix-ups.

There are no forced daily streaks, no overwhelming review piles, and no pressure to keep up with someone else’s schedule. Nazoru is built so you can practice when you want, at your own pace.

Features:
• Practice hiragana, katakana, kanji, words, and full phrases
• Sync with WaniKani, Bunpro, MaruMori, Anki, and more
• Follow your own path inside Nazoru
• Focus on kanji you have already been exposed to
• Learn by tracing, then gradually moving toward recall
• Practice similar and confusing kanji together
• See memory strength and fading kanji at a glance
• Review fading kanji first
• Study without forced streaks or growing review queues
• Get 2 practice sessions per day for free
• Practice on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch

Nazoru is built for Japanese learners who want a calmer, more flexible way to practice writing kana and kanji, with or without external study apps.

### 5/5 — Recomendo

Excelente aplicativo. Bem intuitivo e metodologia de ensino bem legal. Gostei. Para quem deseja aprender japonês, sem dúvidas, este app vai agregar demais.

### 5/5 — Forces you to pay attention

*2026-07-15*

I liked that when you are practicing a kanji the app makes you just copy the kanji, but then it takes away the stroke indicators and you realize you can’t just copy the strokes mindlessly. It forces your brain to notice the details.

### 4/5 — Needs more, but looks good

*2026-07-13*

Would gladly pay if it included small size writing rather than whole screen, for those of us using iPad. If any app is going to get people from whole screen drawing and stroke order to small writing, I’d love to see it be this one. Just a simple option to make it 10% the size it is now would be great.

**Developer response:** Hey Leeloew, thanks for the feedback. Based on your suggestion we will implement this as a feature for the next update.
