My favorite use of this app, besides the offline note-keeping, is the ability to publish something, share the link with someone, and then take it down after they’ve reviewed and/or copied it. As with any service, there are definitely improvements to be made especially with the app, but I’m satisfied because it fulfilled what I was looking for. ### 3/5 — Let me in! 😊 *2019-02-07, version 1.2.1* Honestly this is great for an MVP! It would be a useful next step to let folks with accounts log in and draft or post to their own blogs. Thus, this app is totally useless. App works fine but is ultimately pointless *2018-07-18, version 1.2.1* This is a good app as far as it goes, and I’m a huge fan of write.as itself as a platform. I’ve found the app to be a good if minimalist text editor, and it’s proven to be stable so far. I also like that it can store multiple drafts, which is something the main site can’t do. But that’s its only real advantage, other than offline mode, and there are plenty of other text editors on the App Store. If you do keep an actual blog under a username, there’s no way to use the app to publish to it. This is doubly annoying given that paid tiers on the site allow your content to show up on read.write.as (among other things), but the lack of login makes this impossible to take advantage of without using a web browser. There's no way to pull a post published by the app into your actual blog, which is just as well (from both security and convenience standpoints). As it stands, you have to log in via Safari, and then copy and paste your whole post over. This isn’t the end of the world, but it’s a strange design choice. You can’t even use the share menu in iOS, since the app won’t show it until you’ve published the entry as an anonymous post! With that being the case, it’s not clear to me why using the app is better than writing in Pages and then copying and pasting into the website via Safari, or just writing the whole post in Safari to begin with. At least then I can use my actual blog, and can take advantage of the different tiers of paid account. ### 2/5 — Currently not useable ... *2018-02-24, version 1.2* Works ok on my iPad but on my iPhone (8) the top 2 lines of text in the editor aren’t visible no matter what font I choose. Not off to a good start. Would give it 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ otherwise as it’s very bare bones. No hate, may grow into more capable app and if so will review. ### 3/5 — does what it says BUT *2023-06-23, version 1.2.1* There is so way to sign into any writefreely accounts, not even a write.as account. It’s purely a one random link per post kind of system.
