### 4/5 — Would be five stars but

*2025-11-02*

Would be five stars but while I’m writing the app crashes and doesn’t save losing all progress. Please fix this glitch by adding auto save or just fine out what’s making it crash.

### 4/5 — Annoying capitalization

*2024-10-25*

This app has been amazing for writing my series but there is one flaw I’ve run into. Every time I hit the space button it makes whatever letter I type next capital. I’m not sure if it’s a settings thing or not but I don’t know how to make it stop.

### 3/5 — Crashing

*2024-06-23, version 2.0.5*

This is great for organizing the story adding details writing. But I’m on a iPhone 14 and it crashes after a while

### 4/5 — So far so good

*2024-06-20, version 2.0.5*

Iv just started using this app and, frankly, I want tons from it that it may not be able to give. My initial review is that I wish there was a way to export a project in some form. I will update this review as I use the app further.

### 5/5 — Recommended

*2024-05-21, version 2.0.5*

Super awesome, neat, organized, I love this app!

### 4/5 — Pretty helpful

*2024-04-01, version 2.0.5*

It’s not anything crazy, it’s more just like a place to organize your ideas and notes, which I’m very thankful for. Even without premium, it’s still pretty handy and easy to work with

### 5/5 — Good

*2024-02-24, version 2.0.5*

Pretty decent

### 5/5 — Excellent app for a great price!

*2023-11-13*

I have been looking for an app to help me in my new hobby as a Dungeon Master for my wife as we play Four Against Darkness with a D&D twist. She plays four characters and I create the story, combat situations, etc…

Anyway I have tried other apps that either I couldn’t get started on or they had too many ads and pop ups. This app is simple and user friendly, and it only costs .99 cents a month.

In the course of just about two or three hours I managed to set up notes on all my story goals, characters, equipment and services for my wife’s characters to buy or sell, a list of geographical locations in the world I’m creating, and even a list of non player characters in my main town and the services they provide along with notes about their personalities and history.

You can make any category you like for your folders in the app and you can even select how the folders look by choosing from many symbols in the app. For example, my “brainstorming” folder is of a person fishing and my “story” folder is the image of a book. And most of the other folders (characters, dungeons, geography, etc…) are fantasy based images.

It will be nice to have all of this information condensed into a phone app while my wife and I play the game. I am very happy with this app and the cost considering I’m in a tight budget. Nicely done!

### 5/5 — Awsome

*2023-11-03, version 2.0.5*

This will totally help with my novel. It awsome!

### 5/5 — Loving it! But…

*2023-09-01*

I recently got the app to help organize my story and so far I love it, but there are a few issues I’ve noticed.
Nothing glaring but a few quality of life fixes would do wonders
In the build section it doesn’t seem to distinguish what story the categories are in, which could be really confusing if you have a lot of stories your working on at once, and while this isn’t a big problem and mostly personal preference, it would be really nice if you could favorite certain categories you use frequently So you don’t have to scroll through to find it every time!
Another thing that would improve it would be adding smaller categories in an item or making info boxes collapsible, that way you don’t have to scroll through a massive wall of text to find the specific info your looking for.

Those are some general quality of life fixed that I think would improve the tool but those are just minor nitpicks and honestly I love this and would absolutely recommend it to others

### 3/5 — Looks good so far… but

*2023-08-21, version 2.0.5*

Looks good so far. I like the structure and being able to make my own categories and link them to different projects. However I don’t seem to be able to go back and edit anything after I have written it. If I press and hold on an item I am told to swipe for more but swiping doesn’t seem to do anything. iPhone SE2 IOS16.6

### 4/5 — FINALLY

*2023-08-06, version 2.0.5*

i have been looking for a worldbuilding app for iphone FOREVER

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2023-05-05, version 2.0.5*

I have so many expansive stories that needs retooling but I need a one stop work shop to do it in-this looks like the place!

### 4/5 — PLEASE ADD THIS FEATURE!!!

*2023-04-13*

I love using this app and it come in really handy for planning. However I don’t like how everything is alphabetical organized or organized by the date it was put in. I really wish there was a way to create a custom order.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Requires an account to use.

*2025-07-19, version 2.0.5*

Immediately requires an account to use.

### 1/5 — Constantly Crashing

*2025-05-01, version 2.0.5*

It crashes every 30 minutes and doesn't save what I've already written unless I manually saved.

### 1/5 — I was an idiot

*2024-01-30*

Okay so ignore my bad review it is my Hail Mary to the devs, I was an idiot and set my password to something secure and unique, without writing it down. I already paid for the premium version (which essentially lets you use the whole app) so I don’t want to just delete it, but I also cannot log into anywhere else. I’d like either someone to refund me so I can delete and recreate my account, or to give me my unique password so I can actually have it saved someplace :/
Thoughts on the app itself: it’s good but the UI isn’t that organized, ironic considering it’s an organizational app. It would be nice if we could structure it a little more personally to fit the needs of the story we are writing.

### 1/5 — Paying for Premium and Not Receiving

*2023-11-25, version 2.0.5*

I have reported this bug a few times now and have had no response or assistance. I have premium on a rolling subscription and I’m not able to use any of these features and the app still asks me to pay even though I have the subscription! If it wasn’t for this it’d be 5 stars! Very disappointing!

### 1/5 — Premium scam

*2022-09-17, version 2.0.4*

The app was okay but couldn’t really do anything significant without a premium subscription which turned out to be a scam that I couldn’t cancel

### 2/5 — Pretty good

*2024-09-09, version 2.0.5*

Not bad

### 2/5 — Ok

*2024-05-20, version 2.0.5*

What Good Is A Writer Companion If There Is No Print Function

### 2/5 — Has potential.

*2023-04-05*

This app has a lot of features that I have been looking for. However, it has no way to export the information and the projects which means if I stop paying for it for any reason at all, I lose everything that I’ve worked on. If a way is made to export the material and work I’ve done so I can continue to use it along side my story as I write, I will change my rating and give it more stars. As it is I think it wouldn’t be a great investment of my money.

### 2/5 — Would've been perfect

*2023-03-13, version 2.0.5*

It would've been perfect if you could add images to the description, but you can't.

### 2/5 — Not for big picture people

*2022-01-10*

Every item is cut off and you have to click on it to see the entire text if it’s longer than a sentence, and as someone who likes to see everything in one place, streamlined (like a plot for instance) that is really irritating.

I can see it being somewhat useful, but if you want to plot and you want to be able to read through it in one go without clicking every single point, use Omniwriter.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Outstanding

*2026-03-25*

I tried this and it is amazing. It works for organizing my writing. It works for keeping track of the world of my fantasy RPG. The only problem is that I think templates should be free, or at the very least I should be able to save my own. Failing that, perhaps I could at least see what the templates are? Otherwise, a stellar app, and one I’m proud to have installed.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-12-21, version 2.0.5*

Such a help for keeping track of projects and note keeping

### 5/5 — Absolutely love

*2025-07-25, version 2.0.5*

I adore this app as an organization tool, from dnd to writing, I wish it was a little less expensive for the premium but worth it and even the free version is great!

### 5/5 — This is the best story app

*2025-07-17, version 2.0.5*

I am really busy half the day. This app helps me keep everything organized so I can write my story

### 5/5 — Love the app

*2025-04-09*

The app is great, it’s organized, easy to navigate and quick to access when an idea pops into your head while out and about.

I currently have two wants for the app, to make some things easier:

A way to export the information you’ve created (categorized) into a document that can be used and moved to a computer for example.

A way to custom sort my lists by the information I wish to show first. This customization would make finding some things easier that I work on often.

### 5/5 — I am just beginning my journey of writing.

*2025-04-09*

my name is Curtis Perry and I am a new writer and I am excited to begin this journey. I have never went to school for riding, but I love to create and come up with new ideas. I feel that I have that beginners fire of creation if I can say, and I want to use it before it tries to burn out. I give this app a five star because I am blind, and I use voiceover features on my phone, and it was easy to get started. If there is any complications or mishaps with the app, I am open to communicate with the developers to make minor adjustments so that people like me can enjoy apps like this inclusively. To the developer, please reach out to me at any time for any questions.

### 5/5 — TOP TIER APP FOR WRITERS EVERYWHERE

*2025-01-10*

Ever had one of those shower thoughts where you have a great idea, but it’s gone by the time you wake up the next morning? I haven’t since I got this app. It’s such a great tool for keeping track of anything and quite literally everything regarding your story.

To the developers: amazing work and I am truly grateful for this tool. One small suggestion would be to have actual separate folders for each project. There are ways to work song it of course, but I feel as though the app would feel more organized that way. That said, it doesn’t subtract from the EXTREME utility of this app and I shall continue to use in the future. Thank you again for your hard work.

### 5/5 — My take

*2024-10-08, version 2.0.5*

Great App to use for your writing needs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

### 5/5 — It’s just so good

*2024-08-23, version 2.0.5*

This is possibly the best writing app I’ve ever found. I only discovered the note function recently, and I’ve been using it for actually writing my book that I’m working on. Writer’s Companion has allowed me to have my notes all in one place instead of in lots of different notebooks. It’s easy to change anything. And if I think of something randomly I can easily write it down. I have one suggestion. Maybe you could add in a synonym/dictionary function in as every time I want to find a synonym for something I have to close the app and open another. It would make my life easier as I tend to use a lot of the same word twice. Overall though, this is the most useful writing app I’ve found so far. Thank you for creating this masterpiece of an app.

### 5/5 — Very well designed

*2024-08-12, version 2.0.5*

The tips are helpful and the premium version is definitely worth it. 10/10
