This is more for children who are learning how to write and need sentence starts and topics to help them with their writing. It is not for anyone seeking to start writing a book of any kind. I want my money back. ### 4/5 — It’s good but has a bug *2020-08-08* I like the concept but the change the time option is not working. ### 5/5 — Writing challenge for kids *2020-07-01, version 2.6.2* This has been an awesome app to use with all the family. Great fun and really helps kids develop their story writing ability (which is a NAPLAN tested skill)! ### 1/5 — Useless app. *2020-06-30, version 2.6.2* Useless app ### 2/5 — Not much to it...don’t buy bundle *2019-01-06, version 2.6.1* Not necessary to purchase the bundle. They are identical. The app only prompts ideas for story writing that you need to do with paper and pen. Very simple concept. ### 2/5 — Good but would rather be able to write the story in the app *2018-11-10, version 2.6* Basically a idea timer, but the kids have to write the story on paper. ### 2/5 — Disappointing... *2015-10-05* I downloaded this app in hopes that it would be a good tool to use in the classroom. Great concept but the clock doesn't want to work appropriately. It starts, counts down about three seconds and stops. For a $2 app, this needs to get fixed. ### 4/5 — Almost perfect *2015-05-19* This app is great for kick-starting the writing process. There are two things it lacks however. One is a "return to the last screen" option, for the occasions when you accidentally click the wrong button. The other is a "save" option for when you have a really great series of prompts but have to cut the session short due to time constraints. Since this app is targeted to the elementary and middle grades, it is worth taking into consideration that the ability to step away and return to the same project is important as is recognizing that pressing the wrong button will happen every once in a while. ### 4/5 — Great, except... *2014-06-13* While the app itself is well designed and works great, I'm a little disappointed that it includes such lines as "Follow the yellow brick road," and "In a galaxy, far far away." For the most part though, the prompts are fun, inventive and sure to get kids thinking up some terrific (and hilarious) stories. ### 1/5 — Impossible to use with my iPad *2013-12-06* This app is not designed to be used in landscape mode. If I want to use it in potrait mode, I have to prop it up with one hand while using the on-screen keyboard. Not only is this awkward, the hand propping it up tends to go numb. I wish designers who promise that their app is compatible with iPad would take into consideration that most of our iPad covers do not provide enough stability to prop up our iPads in portrait mode.
