Definitely turn OFF the notifications, though. Unfortunately 90% of the time I see a message stating “We’ll be right back”. I leave it open for 15 minutes and nothing ever comes on. However, the link for school closing needs to be easier to get to. The old app had a tab for it. In this version unless Wsls adds a link to school closings, you cannot find them unless you go to the internet/website. Notifications on IPhone screen are individually selected and often there is no news representing that notification to be found. News subjects that are of individual interest often cannot be located. Also a screen about streaming and sky cams takes over the screen and requires closing just to get to news. Communication with digital help more than once has not produced a resolution or even an offer of a looking into a resolution even after viewing screenshots. WSLS News 10 and its staff are a good news team so the development of a new app should represent its striving for excellence. ### 1/5 — Where’d the widget go??? *2023-02-08, version 3000000* The last update removed the widget. Why?!?!! It was great because I could see three of the top stories at a glance, without having to open the app unless it was something I wanted to read or watch. The widget was actually why I used the WSLS app for my day to day news and with this change it’s not better than any of the other local news apps. Now it’s gone and instead I get annoying notifications instead. All. Day. Long. And when I click on one it ALWAYS takes me to the wrong story. This HUGE change has rendered the app useless for me. Time to change local news apps. ### 1/5 — Horrible Notifications *2022-12-29, version 2400226* What is the point of sending notifications when the link takes you to a completely different story than that which was advertised in the notification. I click the notification which sends me to the video news website. I click play and get two adds then a story unrelated to the notification. I have to back out of that to get to the episode that has nothing to do with the story advertised in the notification. I have yet to see any of the stories in the notifications that I was interested in since I downloaded the app in October.
