You'd think I would learn, but I think I spend so much more time watching YouTube or tv or ANYTHING where you can adjust the slider at the bottom. Usually I've have to sit through commercials and a minute and half of weather idc about. My mind has wandered by the time they say why I actually needed to hear & I miss it. And a.out fail I reach up and try to slightly rewind, and without fail it starts over. Ppl consume so much video online from tik tok to tv to everything in between and a play all the way through or start at the beginning technology just isn't acceptable. (Love Matt and John. They redeem you from 2 stars!) ### 2/5 — Intrusive full screen pop-up ads with volume blasting *2023-11-09* I used this app for 4-5 years but was disappointed with the low quality ads. The ads grew progressively worse with the last straw being a full screen animation with obnoxious blaring volume. ### 3/5 — Where is lightning detected? *2023-06-26* It would be nice if “Matt Laubhan” would give more information instead of how far away lightning is, but also the direction from my current location. ### 3/5 — Good that it’s local *2023-03-03* It’s a bit of a cluttered looking app, mostly because of coloring and text. Sometimes have to navigate a bit to get to the live stream link. Mostly, I wish the voice notification could be turned off and just use an alert tone or at least customizable for specific alerts like tornado warning and not lightening detection 20 miles from my location. ### 2/5 — Pop up video ads when you swap screens *2022-10-13* This used to be my go to weather app. It was the only one I had on my phone. I liked that it was local but would follow you anywhere when you travelled. The radar was great and the weather warning and lightning strike screens would overlay the precipitation without having to switch back and forth like some other apps. The banner ads they had scattered through the screens were unobtrusive enough and sometimes even had things I was interested in. Now when you switch screens such as from hourly to 10 day or to radar, a video ad pops up filling the entire screen and with audio. This is very intrusive and can be disturbing if you are in a setting where you don’t want audio blaring. Plus half the banner ads are now ads for Trump. So this app is now in the trash. I would rather pay a subscription fee, which I now do for AccuWeather. ### 2/5 — Flashing ads?!?!? *2022-07-24, version 5.6.500* Is there a subscription to get around the annoying flashing ads? Yes Matt left, but how did it take such a short amount of time to fall so severely short of being reliable and present? Present is the biggest part. Absolutely dropped the ball during the January freeze. Y’all went out of your way to show us how little it mattered. What shame ### 1/5 — Horrible ADS *2026-06-10* I have always loved this app but all of a sudden you have ads that pop up every few minutes and it is ridiculous! I am deleting this app. Completely not worth it! Sad this has turned into garbage. ### 1/5 — Don’t bother *2025-09-16* Don’t bother downloading it. After they let Matt go their reliability is 0% I’m getting notifications for “storms” 20 miles away, they let you know about storm warning 2-3 hours AFTER the storm has PASSED OVER YOU. There are far more reliable apps that can get you to safety in unsafe weather. I recommend Emergency from Red Cross or MS Live. They provide far better reports and keep you informed in dangerous weather.
