Instead it’s necessary to back up, click the next story, back up, etc. Overall, the old app is better and more efficient. ### 3/5 — Automatically plays videos *2026-02-24, version 4.0.16* I have auto play videos turned off on my iPhone but this app overrides it. Someone who wants to be an influencer? For the same stories, I receive multiple notifications from local, national, and international sources. Out of all of those, WVLT is literally the ONLY one that gives ZERO details. Just obscure titles “urging” me to open the story. Guess what?! It makes me NEVER click on them. Your network has become a clickbait joke to me. Have some nerve and actually put some details in a notification. People might just read them. You dont report about the young white girl being stabbed to death by a black man in a racial hate crime. You are not reporting all the news. You report how Trump’s war on tariffs are hurting the country but when a deal is made….nothing. Please stop brainwashing people and start doing your jobs!!!! You are no longer in the business of delivering the news but in the business of politics and controlling votes! Unfortunately the news app is not. Too many ads. News stories over a year old mixed in with recent stories. Even worse are the ones that burst into a loud sales pitch. Wish news business actually cared about reporting news instead of tricking you to click thei ads. ### 1/5 — Live news buffers after latest update.. *2023-04-27, version 4.0.6* Constant problems this year with this app, and now for a couple weeks the live news feeds buffer intermittently, and sometimes never restart. Bummer, bcs I have the live feeds on in the morning while I’m in the shower, getting dressed, packing my lunch, and getting ready for my day. No issue with other local station’s app btw, just miss the crew and news @WVLT. ### 3/5 — Adds *2023-02-25, version 4.0.4* To many adds that takes over the app. You cannot get them off your screen. There are some taking over this app. So I had to delete it. Hopefully this newly down loaded app will not allow this . Use this app. You are immediately assaulted by a video without any controls - you can’t pause, you can’t mute, just BOOM, video vomit. Advertisers are just wasting their money because all it makes us do is hate them and their products. Give us an option to turn off auto play or at least some controls once the assault has begun, or kiss this user goodbye. ### 1/5 — More ads than news *2026-04-10, version 5.0.3* When you open a news story the ad video autoplays with sound and is very obnoxious. The page is riddled with ads and only a small amount of the page contains news. The information given in the article is very brief. This app is more about the ads than the news.
