My experience has been exemplary with no buffering issues as has been reported by other reviewers. My WiFi feed is well over 200 Mbps, so maybe that could explain the better performance. With the Bluetooth streaming I hear music crystal clearly now. Now stuck in loop when I open it and it just keeps crashing. I push play and no sound whatsoever. The livestream buffers at the worst possible times and quitting and restarting seems to be the only fix. It’s incredibly annoying when it happens at key moments in some of the stories. It buffers and quits every minute or less. Also, it asks me to update it but then just goes to the same version I already have. This app is heavy with junk. The app constantly prompts me to update though I have the latest version. Other than that, the new design is an improvement, when it works. ### 2/5 — Poor app design - too busy *2025-11-20* I listen to radio IQ on either the WVTF app or on the NPR one app. Many times the NPR app doesn’t connect well so I end up using the WVTF app to listen. The constantly shifting highlighted news stories on the app itself are a distraction and I never use it for anything other than audio. As mentioned another comments, the buffering is really distracting. When you first turned it on, it will often repeat the first few seconds two or three times before it finally connects consistently. ### 2/5 — Music side stops *2025-07-20* The music side stops and will not restart. Different programs and time of day. Worked well in beginning but not now. It’s the only way I can get to the music side of the station. The portion of the app that is the audio player is not able to play reliably for the morning news. Lots of buffering. You are better off using the website if listening is your goal. A new update was offered last weekend and it didn’t help at all. ### 2/5 — Good content, bad tech *2024-12-21* I have enjoyed this app for years until this year, when it has engaged in repeated skipping, hiccuping freezing, and repetition of the same short clip over and over. I have deleted and reinstall the app several times with no change and performance.
