### 2/5 — Unable to link to sites, only to images

*2019-11-29*

VERY disappointed in this app. I was hoping to link to sites such as HRRR, model sites, SKEW-T or even GOES 16 sites.

You are better off just creating shortcuts in your web browser or short cuts to your desktop to get sites requiring interactive input to work.

If the site link does not end in a picture format such as .jpg, you get a download error on right side of screen. In safari, I get the looping graphic image perfectly.

Also, once you do create a link, you can’t edit the link. You have to delete the link and start all over again rather than just updating a link within an existing menu option you just created.

**Developer response:** The app was never intended to be a web browser, nor does Apple allow third-party apps to have wide-open access to the web unless they are billed as web browsers and contain many other security/privacy features and parental control features to protect users (possibly children) from inappropriate content.

### 2/5 — A full year?

*2018-05-17, version 3.0.1*

I just bought a new iPad that can run the latest version of my favorite weather app. Now I find out landscape was removed A FULL YEAR AGO. Why no update since iOS 10?

### 2/5 — Finally deleted the app...

*2016-12-28*

They removed landscape mode capabilities in early October. I have been waiting since that time for them to restore the landscape functionality to the app - finally gave up and deleted the app and am now looking for a better solution. I have to say, these developers must be REALLY lost if they can't even restore previous functionality to the app. Either way, I think that lack of landscape mode is information that a prospective buyer should be made aware of.

### 3/5 — forgot something.

*2016-10-03, version 3.0.1*

what dick said. why won't it go into landscape mode for ipad?

### 3/5 — Please return landscape mode to the app

*2016-10-02, version 3.0.1*

Never understand why an update comes along to apps, and the developer drops landscape mode. It is a necessity for the iPad Pro

### 2/5 — Functional but Portrait only.

*2016-09-29, version 3.0*

I would like to see landscape capability returned.

### 4/5 — One of the more detailed weather apps I've seen

*2014-04-28*

One of the things I like most about this app is the number of maps that are available that offer a lot of information besides a radar picture. As a pilot this bigger picture information is important to me. There are a few things I would like to see added to the app, mainly a way to change the units. This is becoming one of my most used weather apps that I use in conjunction with one another.

### 3/5 — Better

*2014-04-19*

The developer has made some good adjustments to the app's new GUI with this minor release — that aspect of the app is now quite usable.

However, there is still no way to get the good local NOAA forecasts, only the forecasts for their specific observation stations. This is not at all useful in areas with highly varying microclimates. For some users, this may not matter, in which case this is a good four- or five-star app.

For users in mountainous terrain, however, or for those on the waterfront, this app remains far less useful than it was before.

### 2/5 — Used to be great, now too hard on the eyes

*2014-04-14, version 2.0*

This used to be my favorite weather app. Unfortunately, the latest update replaced an easy-to-read appearance with a very harsh black on white scheme (think typewritten text on white paper). It's too harsh and jarring to be readable. I look forward to an added option to restore a less painful appearance

### 4/5 — Thanks

*2014-04-09, version 2.0*

Thank you for fixing the text forecast format. That is the first thing I look at for local wx forecast. Only thing I don't like is the bland white background.

### 2/5 — Sleeps on the dock and no current time

*2013-10-27*

My iPad mini seems to go to sleep on the dock and the app does not include the current time. I need an app for a nightstand weather station so I know what I'm up against when I get up before dawn to exercise. If you don't need to know what time it is and having to wake your iPad up to see the current conditions is not a deal breaker then this may be the app for you. One minor third issue that would be nice would be a red display option. Blue light messes with ones ability to sleep.

### 4/5 — A great app

*2013-02-16, version 1.4.5*

A very good app. Does what it says it will do. Lots of information, no problems.

### 3/5 — Needs refresh button

*2012-12-27, version 1.4.5*

The only way to manually refresh is to kill the app then reopen. This would be a five star but to have to do this just to refresh is nuts. Need a refresh button on the iPhone and iPad versions just like the desktop version. I would have held off if I knew this before my purchase of the iPhone and iPad versions. Wait for an update on this before you spend the money.

### 4/5 — EDITED - Working Again

*2012-07-05, version 1.4.4*

Program is working again.

Was a 4 - 5 star program. Now, it simply will not open (after closing program in background, rebooting iPad, etc.)

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Does not work in the UK

*2019-03-11*

Downloads and installs ok but is limited to locations in USA

### 1/5 — Sad

*2017-02-05, version 3.0.1*

This used to be a "go-to" app, but since they deleted the landscape mode, it's near useless.

The developers lost interest in the app and have orphaned it.

### 1/5 — Seriously?

*2016-09-29, version 3.0*

A update to 3.0 to support iOS 10 that doesn't have a landscape mode on the iPad Pro?

Hello! You people ever heard of a iPad Pro Keyboard or Logitech Create?

Zero Stars. ZERO.

### 1/5 — New IOS wrecks Wx

*2016-09-24, version 2.0.2*

An upgrade in weather service servers once killed the functionality of this great app & the developer had to scramble for weeks to restore it. Now the latest IOS is working its magic....It remains a mystery to me why this can never be anticipated and addressed beforehand. I guess its back to the old 'Forecast' app, again....Content and functionality over jellybean graphics and candypants-wearing millenial marketeer aesthetics, anyday, thanks much....(As in, eat MY shorts, o.k.?)

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2016-08-31, version 2.0.2*

Wx for iPad app does not work on my iPad Pro using the latest beta iOS. It launches, but will not allow me to add any locations. It allows me to choose a location from the map, but won't allow the choosing of any local stations. The "Use this location" link remains greyed out. disfunctional. I have no problem with the iPhone version using the same iOS. It works fine. The Star rating pertains only to this problem. The app is great when it works!

### 1/5 — Background changed to all white

*2014-04-08, version 2.0*

Hate the all white background intensely. All white is hard on the eyes and for me, much more difficult to read. Please at least give us the choice of background color. Otherwise, will have to find new weather app.

### 1/5 — Currently not working

*2014-03-25, version 1.4.5*

App stopped downloading the written forecast.

### 1/5 — No Longer Works

*2013-04-10, version 1.4.5*

Wx stopped working. It doesn't fetch data.

### 1/5 — App crashes - Stay Away!

*2013-01-11, version 1.4.5*

Looks pretty but crashes when trying to add any location. I guess if I lived in Cupertino it might be O.K. But if you want to see weather anywhere else your out of luck. How do I get my $ 4.99 back?

### 1/5 — Arizona User

*2012-07-03, version 1.4.4*

No longer works! Continues shutting down immediately after opening

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The Best

*2019-11-23*

Thank you for bring back landscape mode on iPad. The best weather app is now better than ever!

### 5/5 — Thanks for updating the iPad version

*2019-10-16*

Thanks for updating the iPad version so that it can be viewed in landscape mode and be zoomable.

### 5/5 — Repeat deduction

*2017-05-07*

Please check my account and I purchased the Outdoor Adventure bundle with Pro Altimeter duplicate deduction fee. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Reliable and Complete

*2014-04-08, version 2.0*

I have 4 or 5 weather apps on my phone at any one time. The weather in my area is changeable; a small wind shift can drop temperatures by 10º. So I check “early and often,” kind of thing. Of all the apps I own, WX is the most reliable and complete. Its Pro section offers 10 distinct seven-day forecast graphs, covering temperature, precipitation, wind direction and speed, humidity and cloud cover. Localized to the nearest NWS station, the data are complete and highly reliable. The precipitation models consistently beat all the others - possibly excepting Dark Sky. Likewise, the Wind Shift plot is dead on. I suppose that the home screen is not the most attracting landing spot. It certainly doesn’t look like most other iOS7 apps, but it’s easy to read and just like the Summary screen, give me the information I want at a glance. Well worth owning.

### 5/5 — Great Weather App !

*2014-04-07, version 2.0*

Great weather app ! One of the best for weather. The new update is really good !

### 5/5 — My favorite weather app

*2014-04-07, version 2.0*

This app provides me with more consistently accurate forecasts for my location than any other app that I've tried. I'm glad the developers have continued to keep it up to date even as the NWS services keep changing, because I'd hate to have to go without it.

### 5/5 — my favorite weather app

*2012-07-21, version 1.4.4*

i like the simplicity and information-rich character of this weather app.

### 5/5 — Real Good

*2012-05-30*

This is one of the better weather apps. it is very complete with weather maps and US locations but not worldwide locations although these locations such as Europe can be viewed on the map. One just can not retrieve the weather from anything but US locations. I hope they add other locations in the future. Right now it is all about the US so I hope they update in the future. Still this is a great looking and fun weather app for US weather.

### 5/5 — Fast, accurate. Best WX app out there

*2011-12-08*

Great app! Thanks for putting this together, it is exactly what I was looking for. The NWS/NOAA is the best and most accurate information, and this app doesn't junk it up with unnecessary graphics and animations.

I have two requests:

1. The wind arrows should point where the wind is from, not where it is going. I'm in aviation, this is the norm in my field. It's also how the data is represented on the NWS web site. I understand others might like it as it currently is - perhaps a user selectable option?

2. Could we hide/reorder the graphs in the "pro" section?

Those are minor quibbles of course. Still five stars!

### 5/5 — Update broke it!

*2011-10-13, version 1.4.2*

Looks like it is now working (I just updated to iOS5), so I will give it back it's good rating.

Worked great before this last update. Now doesn't seem to be able to get updates.
