### 4/5 — Great way to understand weather at a glance!

*2019-08-04, version 6.3.3*

However, there are some minor, annoying bugs to fix. I’ll raise rating to 5-star once those fixed:

1) It doesn’t retain Wx/Wind = Text setting (Enable Tap Setting is disabled); after cycling through bar/map/circle view, it always defaults back to Icons. Annoying.

2) Personal Visibility minimum have to be set to for example 3.99 if 4.0 is desired, otherwise it would be “black” on Circle View. Same goes for Ceiling minimum, e.g. 4999 for 5000. Minimum should mean “at or above”, and green in Circle View.

3) Temperatures shown in Map View are in Fahrenheit after changing Unit to Celsius. Also, default should be Celsius in aviation.

4) Tempo label in Circle View extends over the boundaries of the black background circle. This is just cosmetic.

5) Should also be able to find Personal Minimum settings in Settings menu. While it is in the tutorial, it is not very intuitive, or easy to find those settings unless going through the tutorial (tap and hold on Mins circle).

6) METAR needs to be tapped to cycle through, while TAF needs to be swiped vertically to cycle through. Users end up doing all kind of taps/swipes, as it is hard to remember unless app is used frequently. Needs a more consistent way for cycling through the categories. Tap is easier. Maybe icon/text mode switching needs to be taken out from gestures (or use tap and hold for that), and use quick tap for cycling through both METAR and TAF.

7) Would be nice if the Tempo stripes could be tapped on to get more info on Tempo. (I guess this one is harder to implement.)

8) TAF Visibility is shown as 6.2 when it is greater than 6SM. While it probably comes from the conversion from 10km to statue miles, it looks strange. 6.0+ or similar abbreviation would look better IMO.

9) Bottom menu bar should be more consistent regardless which view is selected. Mins button is jumping to other side, aircraft icon is only presented in circle view, etc. Suggestion: right side of menu bar could always stay the same (same buttons), while left side of bar would show specific buttons relevant to the actual view selected.

Great potential, fantastic new way to get an understanding of the weather along the whole trip. Hopefully, these get resolved because there is no other app that is so intuitively different when it comes to presenting aviation weather. Super useful. Good job!

### 4/5 — Developer Engaged

*2017-12-24, version 4.0.0*

Developer Engaged. Had a problem with my installation. Developer responded personally and helped me fix it. Excellent.

**Developer response:** Delete your existing version and reinstall. Should work fine. Contact support via the website for further assistance.

### 3/5 — Lockup

*2017-01-28, version 2.5.1*

System keeps locking up and has to be deleted and reloaded. This causes me to reload my locations Not happy

### 5/5 — Incredible!

*2016-12-01, version 2.4*

The FOREFLIGHT of weather! Once you get the hang of navigating and interpreting the presentation (developer has done an excellent job of tutorials and screen shots to help get users up to speed), you will never look at weather another way!

### 5/5 — Use it every day

*2016-11-10, version 2.2*

Since I am currently VFR-only, I think this app is great for quickly finding both the current and the forecast conditions at various airports of interest. If it looks okay for flight, I will then get into more details with other apps/sites. I have used it just about every day for the past year!

### 5/5 — WX at a glance

*2016-10-15, version 1.17.1*

This app is an excellent way to get a good feel for the wx at a particular airport with just a glance. The need to sift through multiple textual lines is completely gone. However, with just a double-tap you can see the textual wx if you wish. For a professional pilot, this app is a handy time saving tool that is very useful in day to day operations.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2016-08-25, version 1.16.14*

This is my favorite weather app! It's great for pilots giving a quick look at weather conditions. I use it for everyday weather and not just when flying.

### 4/5 — Works pretty well

*2016-08-06, version 1.16.13*

Over all, this app is growing on me. I am using it more for weather info, the display is confusing at first, but as you learn it it makes more sense.

### 5/5 — Very good we app!!

*2016-07-23, version 1.16.11*

Really like it! First place to check on the weather. Simple to get the "big" picture.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2016-07-23, version 1.16.11*

This is a fantastic app. Be sure to watch the tutorials or you will never get the full utilization of this app. They are short and quick but a must. You literally have your entire weather at your fingertips in seconds.

### 5/5 — Great Visual WX App for Pilots

*2016-07-01, version 1.16.9*

Excellent graphic view of the TAF and METAR.
Definitely worth the cost.

### 5/5 — Useful App

*2016-05-04, version 1.16.1*

For pilots this app is a useful quick check on TAF METARS. It takes just a small amount of study and use before one can easily and quickly interpret the symbology. At first it was confusing, but with very little use I'm now totally absorbing the info at a glance. I recommend this app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Too much info squeezed into small screen

*2018-11-26, version 5.6.3*

Too much info squeezed into small screen

**Developer response:** That is the point of the app to represent TAFs, Metars, Arimets, Sigmets & TFRs, in one location. The visual arrangement is thought out very well and communicates a wealth of information very quickly as opposed to looking at these reports in any other platform.

### 1/5 — Not ready!

*2017-08-29, version 3.0.3*

Couldn't retain my airplane settings. Couldn't add my personal minimums. Not ready for prime time! Poor design, no clear settings menu or screen.

### 1/5 — Won't Run

*2017-03-05, version 2.5.3*

Latest release crashes every time on startup. Unusable. Update: Deleted app then reinstalled from app store. Works fine now. A little learning curve but information is excellent.

### 1/5 — Good concept if it worked

*2017-02-24, version 2.5.3*

Nice idea. Novel way to present weather info. Problem is, the app constantly crashes and on some occasions, the app doesn't accurately reflect the current raw metar. Appears it doesn't refresh the data it displays in a timely manner.
Contacted their support but no response. App is no good if I can't trust what it is showing me.

### 1/5 — Not a fan

*2016-04-12, version 1.15.4*

You are charging 12 dollars a year for information that is free through many apps. While the graphical display is pretty it doesn't solve any current problems but just adds something else I have to decipher or screen touches to get more information. Pilots are trained to read metars and tafs. Your display uses Fahrenheit while the whole aviation world uses Celsius. Charge a buck and I might buy it. No way with a subscription model.

### 1/5 — Overpriced for a TAF/METAR app...

*2016-03-18, version 1.15.1*

Says here the yearly subscription is $11, when you download the app however and you go to subscribe they want $18 per year!.. Not worth it considering how many other free TAF/METAR apps there are out there... It's a different approach with a nice layout, but still over priced for what it is...

### 2/5 — Barely good.

*2021-08-26, version 7.9.2*

I get better information from Foreflight, or other apps that are free.

### 2/5 — Five stars for the app one star for the price

*2018-05-26, version 5.1.1*

I’ve been using this app for a couple of years and really like it. Didn’t mind paying twelve bucks or so but $45 now? Forget it, you lost me. Good luck with your new business model.

**Developer response:** Well, after the government takes their cut, Apple takes theirs, and the ex takes hers, it didn't leave much for me! You'll probably waste more money taxing or in a hold somewhere. There is also a free version and a $2.99 weekly subscription.

### 2/5 — Ok but needs to fix many bugs.

*2017-04-08, version 2.7*

Looks like it will have good potential but the app constantly crashes when selecting a feature. Using updated Ipad.

### 3/5 — It has potential

*2017-01-29, version 2.5.1*

I think the concept is extraordinary- wish I had thought of it! However, I wanted to like this app but the learning curve is steep since many of the basic paradigms such as loading a route or group of airports is unlike any other app. Additionally, on my iPhone 6, the program crashes without exception every time I select Minimums to enter my personal minimums. Some improvement and I may subscribe but not at it's current build.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — This App is a Situational Awareness Force Multiplier

*2022-05-11, version 7.9.4*

This App is absolutely fantastic, I am an airline pilot and this is my go to weather app for pre-flight planning. I was initially looking for a weather app where I could efficiently and expeditiously examine TAF forecasts to see if I needed an Alternate and if the pesky Derived Minimums would be an issue at my destination. I am a new Captain upgrade so I have to utilize additional minimums per the company SOPs. The way you have turned a TAF forecast into a visual presentation is just fantastic, also I have never come across an app where you can look forward in time to be able to see where you will arrive in the TAF block. Doing this manually really uses a lot of brain bandwidth with all the time conversions and Zulu time conversions.

The way I use this app is I plan all my trip legs out which can sometimes be as many as 5 legs per day. I then take screenshots of all the data and put them in my photo albums named LEG1, LEG2, etc. So now after my first trip I can just look at Leg 2 and have a good idea of all the WX associated with that Leg. This app also is great in determining which runway they will be landing prior to arrival. Thanks again for this fantastic app, great work and God Bless.

### 5/5 — Outstanding Support, Outstanding Pilot Wx App

*2020-05-05, version 7.2.3*

I join with others in praising this powerfully simple visual weather app for pilots. It is so fast and easy to complete a good preflight weather briefing. Well worth the annual subscription fee.

But the best part of the app is the developers incredible responsiveness to user problems. My recent iPhone SE problem was resolved with immediate direct communication. I was stunned, never experienced anything like it. Thank you Paxton!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-06-12, version 6.3.0*

Great weather app. Customer support is AWSOME.

### 5/5 — QUESTION

*2018-08-29, version 5.5.0*

I can only find the FREE version of WX24 Pilot. How do I acquire the PAID version?

**Developer response:** If you go to Settings (lower left icon) then Subscriptions there are payment options. Thx.

### 5/5 — Great for Photographers Too

*2018-05-01, version 5.0.4*

Hey. I’m not a pilot, but I am a photographer. I use the cloud coverage feature to help plan my natural light shoots and I love it. Very accurate.

### 5/5 — JohnBRC

*2018-01-14, version 4.0.4*

Most phenomenal aviation app...a must have for ANY pilot, student, sport, private, commercial...virtually anyone who pursues aviation. There is no better weather product even close. The visual design of ALL pertinent weather information is like the advance from a DOS operating system of old, to the graphical user interface that drives all computers today. I MUST add that the support help is beyond GREAT and very timely. My question was answered immediately by the developer- even over the weekend. No waiting for superb help. A great app and a great response team.

### 5/5 — The best aviation weather app available.

*2017-11-16, version 3.1.7*

Hands down the best aviation weather app I’ve used. It is easy to quickly see the weather I can expect to be flying into and adjust my departure time accordingly if needed. It has reduced my preflight planning time significantly so I can spend more time doing what I love.

The personal minimums is an amazing tool to use when you first start out flying and then change as your skill level increases.

Also, being the geek that I am, this app is super useful on road trips. My last motorcycle ride was much more enjoyable when I could plan it around the expected rain.

### 5/5 — I fly every week

*2017-05-16, version 2.8.3*

This app save me so much time in flight planning and helps me make better decisions. I know 24 hours in advance when my best window is for my flight. I know know in minutes if I should leave today or wait a few hours or even a day. Great app!!

### 5/5 — CFI-I

*2017-05-12, version 2.8.3*

After a little study, app provides an excellent visual presentation of METAR and TAF information for local and x/c flying. Saves time by minimizing conversion process dealing with multiple airport locations.

### 5/5 — Very Helpful

*2017-04-13, version 2.7.2*

This is a great app for long cross-country flights. It makes it easy to see the best time to fly to avoid potential weather issues developing miles from your position, such as fog forming or dissipating, thunderstorms developing, and even ceilings. Saves a lot of time having to research prog charts.
