## What is Wylara?

Wylara starts with what is open.

Most camping apps show you a map of places that are already booked solid. Wylara works the other way around. It reads live availability, shows you the nights that are genuinely free, and gets you to a decision instead of a browser with nine tabs open.

FIND SOMETHING OPEN
Search anywhere in the country and see real availability from recreation.gov, state park systems and local agencies. A month calendar reads at a glance: open, limited, or full. Tap an open night to start watching it.

GO SITE BY SITE
A campground is not one place. Wylara ranks the individual sites inside it on privacy, shade, views, quiet and seclusion, with photos of each one, so you know which loop to book and which to avoid. Sort by the sites that still have nights left this month.

WATCH FOR CANCELLATIONS
The good sites are already reserved. Put a watch on the nights you want and Wylara tells you the moment one frees up.

BEYOND THE RESERVATION SYSTEM
Dispersed camping, backcountry sites, trailheads and viewpoints, all on the same map. Filter for four wheel drive access, water, fire rules, dogs and accessibility, and see what is left once you have.

PLAN THE WHOLE ROUTE
Build a trip out of stops and dates. Wylara routes the real roads between them, counts the nights, and turns it into a guide you can read in the truck, with weather, permits and booking links in one place.

WORKS WITHOUT SIGNAL
Download your trip's map before you leave. It covers your route and the ground around every stop, so the map still works at the trailhead where the bars run out. You see the exact size before it downloads.

SAVE FROM ANYWHERE
Share a link from anywhere on your phone and Wylara pulls the place out of it and files it with your saves.

PERMIT LOTTERIES
Half Dome, Havasupai, the Enchantments, Mount Whitney. Wylara tracks when each application window opens and emails you the day before.

Wylara is free. No trial, no credit card, nothing behind a paywall.

More time outside, less time figuring it out.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-26

Alerts got most of the attention this release.

You can now pause a watch and start it again later, instead of only stopping it for good. Paused watches stay on the Alerts screen, dimmed, so you can find them again.

You can also keep more than one watch on the same campground, which matters when you are flexible about which weekend you go. Each one now says which sites it covers, so several watches on one place are easy to tell apart.

New: watch a single campsite. Open a campground, tap "See all the sites", expand the site you want and tap "Watch this site for cancellations". You get told when that exact site frees up, not just when anything at the campground does.

Fixed: the button to stop watching a campground did nothing when you tapped it.

Basecamp also opens faster the first time you launch the app.
