Slowly over time the app has really degraded. It's completely lost rhe ability to connect to the cloud, and just hangs. This means one of the main functions, checking what the air quality is in your space, no longer works. You just don't know. Several years ago, Wynd stopped providing outdoor AQI based on your location as well. That was a bummer but because I could check it on third party apps I didn't mind. But since the app is down it doesn't check the device AQI, that's a major loss of function. Even before this there were always glitches like the app would lose connection the device momentarily, but it wasn't a big deal since you could usually reconnect. (Having all the device lights turn on in the middle of the night when this happens was super annoying though.) I'm bummed because we had a good run, I was going to get more of these plus the larger purifiers if they could have kept their tech up to date. ### 2/5 — Can’t get it to connect to app UPDATE TOUR APP *2024-06-09, version 2.2.6* Try and try Try. I cannot connect to my account with FB login. It looks like the FB login was not maintained and has been disabled. Is there any way to move forward without losing my old account and creating a new one? ### 1/5 — Updated App Doesn’t Support Older Versions *2022-12-07, version 2.2.02* Wynd is great until they update the app and decide to abandon older versions. I have a first gen wynd and it will no longer pair to the app. So buyer beware. I would never have bought this if I knew they weren’t always going to support it. ### 1/5 — DO NOT UPGRADE (Jul, 2022) *2022-08-24, version 2.2.02* Updated, summer of 2022: The recent upgrade has major issues with the device disconnecting from the app frequently, not to mention the terrible linking process. If you haven’t yet updated the version, I recommend holding off until these issues are fixed. ______ Wanna to love it, but it has some major issues. I wish i would have been more satisfied, cause this has TRUE POTENTIAL to be the type of purifier and sensor i was looking for. I hope that some firmware and app updates from now, it will become the promising product it can be. Here is what’s in its way currently: If set to night mode and auto mode, on every auto change of the purifying strength, an awfully bright blue light momentarily turns on. (When setting your phone to silent, is it ok if it only *sometimes* rings..?) Although the app has the permissions for a background refresh, the AQI data isn’t smoothly collected throughout the time (in case you’re wondering, my devices were in radius, connected and charged fully). It’s basically collecting info if it’s open and in focus (when you’re on the app). After a while, since I realized there are no environmental AQI towers are close enough in my area, I decided to turn off location permissions to the app. Apparently, without location permissions, the sensor’s AQI doesn’t show up in the app. I consider this a HUGE flaw, which I cannot avoid considering the PRIVACY aspects of this odd functionality. The recent app update had purged the insights history. I wish the sensor’s interval configuration would be more flexible. Ideally for one to enter their own interval. Gotta be something between 1 second to a 5 mins etc.. I love having an effective and a portable USB-C charged device with a sensor and (potentially) AQI data collected from its sensor. As you can see, all of the issues mentioned above are solvable by software updates. I’m hoping to soon be updating this review, to rave about this little product, and the improvements made to it. ### 2/5 — Orig kickstart air sense no longer works *2022-06-11, version 2.2.02* So I have an orig Kickstarter air purifier and sensor But now I can’t get the sensor on wifi. I mail support and all I get back is a YouTube like to how to set it up on wifi. But the wifi never shows up so I can only guess the wifi is dead but support don’t seem to get it. ### 1/5 — Looks like this hasn’t been updated in a year *2022-05-31, version 2.2.01* I would give this a better rating as it had been working fine till recently. But for the past week I cannot connect to my account with fb login. It looks like the FB login was not maintained and has been set to developer mode. So I guess all I can do now is throw away my old data and start again with a new account altogether using another login method. ### 1/5 — Can't even sign in *2022-05-10, version 2.2.01* I haven't been able to sign in to the app for over a month now, trying several devices. It just hangs on Connecting to Wynd Cloud, but never actually connects. I also can't get support to help me. I have several Wynd devices, both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, but can't do anything with them through the app anymore. ### 3/5 — App keeps signing me out every time I use it. *2022-04-06, version 2.2.01* I basically get booted off the app whenever I open it with apple sign on. ### 2/5 — Still no HomeKit support *2021-11-13, version 2.2.01* This app provides most of what I need to use my Halo and air purifier, but it’s a bit unreliable, a bit slow and most importantly, still doesn’t have HomeKit support after promising it for over 18 months. The Wynd max frequently drops connection and then the only way to get it to repair is to factory reset, delete the device from the app, delete the app, reinstall the app, and then try to re-add the device. This process which takes at least 10 min is not guaranteed to work. The other issue I have with the app is the new “optimizations” feature. Most of the data is either not recorded or not available. For example, the temperature and pm10 seems to be lacking. The app also does not have any data for the light sensor and noise sensor. The graphs need better auto scaling as well. If my pm2.5 range is 0-20, showing a graph range of 0-200 is silly. The Halo needs to have the ability to auto change display screens as well. **Developer response:** Thank you for the suggestion. This issue should now be resolved. I know your intro screen now before it quits. ### 1/5 — Trackers can no longer be calibrated in app *2024-09-22, version 2.2.7* Since Wynd discontinued their AirBubbles app they no longer have an API to get current outside air quality readings. Because of this, there is no way to recalibrate a Wynd Tracker in this app with a known value. The Tracker device is now useless because it is wildly inaccurate without a way to calibrate. ### 1/5 — Sadly very useless app *2024-05-21, version 2.2.6* No screen which shows all current metrics. Also no truly interactive graphs, to read out data from a specific moment. Currently problems with sending commands to purifier. No Air quality metrics outside of USA it seems. Have tried for several weeks, going through all the trouble shooting documents, but it simply will not connect. Their help desk has offered nothing that wasn’t already in the trouble shooting docs. Can’t control my purifier manually like I could with the app. I saw there was an update to the app in Jan 24, but still won’t connect. Still no support so I’ve given up. ### 1/5 — Products won’t connect; useless *2023-12-14* I have a Halo and two purifiers so I feel I’ve invested significant money into their products. Was hoping to buy a third purifier but Wynd has lost me as a customer. None of my products will connect to the app. So all the features I had loved are inaccessible (e.g. filter life etc). I’ve done all the troubleshooting multiple times, reset this and that, deleted app, contacted support all to no avail. I have been trying for several weeks to get the products online and have been completed ghosted by customer support. Maybe a Christmas miracle will happen and I’ll get a response….so, so disappointed. ### 1/5 — Hardware is great, app is not *2023-12-10* I have been using two Wynd products (Halo and Max Purifier) for almost 2 years. The products are great, but this app on the iPhone platform has major issues pairing and keeping the products paired. For the past 2 months, I have been unable to pair (re-establish pairing) on my iPhone or my husband’s iPhone. We think the latest issue started around the same time as iOS v17 upgrade. Unfortunately, Wynd support isn’t much better than this app. I have tried all their “fixes”, even multiple attempts, to no avail. If I didn’t like the hardware, I would really complain. I’m incredibly frustrated with the lack of support, the app’s inability to pair, and the loss of product functionality. ### 1/5 — IOS app DOES NOT work *2023-10-28, version 2.2.5* Will not connect to the MAX purifier.
