With recen iOS updates It fails to even display a usable login screen. I’ve written app code and designed interfaces. The app design goes against every best practice out there. It’s buggy, completely unreliable and is not compatible with IOS 15 or 16… from what I can tell. After a week trying to get this to work I am returning the car (actually the second one cause I thought the first one was just defective) don’t waste your time with this or the car. The app is completely broken. It locks into landscape mode when you have to type something in. It doesn’t support 5g wifi networks. I can’t even connect the wyze cam to the app because the QR code is stretched and other app components cover it. Wish I had the car that goes with this app 😂 ### 4/5 — Colossal Fail *2023-01-31, version 1.1.68* The fact that first customer ship date was April 1st is telling. Like so many others have reviewed here, this is a complete total waste of time and money. When you finally get it going sort of, you’ll find the control flaky, laggy and annoying unresponsive. Steering is hard left or hard right, no digital proportional. And when it’s left or right, the steering servo is constantly chattering hard left or right sucking as much power as it can trying to turn even harder. This means there’s not enough power left to move forward or backwards. A major design failure. If you start moving first and then try steering, it almost sorta kinda works, but a real poor experience. Then, try out the travel mode to see if it’s any better? No, don’t. Once you do, try as you might repeatedly, it won’t connect. And, it won’t let you just reconnect back in normal mode. Follow the directions, delete the camera, even delete the whole app and reinstall, it’s forever now stuck in trying to connect in travel mode which doesn’t work, so now it’s a totally bricked useless pile of crap. With this, a died pan cam, three of my other six cameras with such crappy audio quality as to be useless, finding my newest Pan Cam v3 isn’t eligible for video clips on my plan, I think I’m done with Wyze. ### 4/5 — Pretty good! *2022-05-15, version 1.1.68* But sometimes if your device is too far away from your car when it’s on travel mode it might freeze or lose connection although i do recommend using travel mode instead of cellular dada or internet ### 4/5 — Mostly works. Lots of fun. *2022-02-05, version 1.1.68* Adding the camera and driving around is easy. Switching fw between car and camera mode wotks fine. Travel mode setup is touch and go. And yo try 3 times. First time to setup the wifi to the cam. Then had to delete the camera and set it up again. Then switching to travel mode worked after turning it on in the app, followed by exiting the app then retruning to it and connecting to the camera. ### 4/5 — Remote Spy rover? *2022-01-14, version 1.1.68* Ok, I preordered as soon as I saw it, the concept is really cool. I love the WYZE cam v3 as it is the best do more camera with an ease of use that is crazy simple. The WYZE car is also very easy however I would like to see a charger base for this car, if you read this WYZE I am going to build and test one myself just so you know. (Can you tell me the power draw while it is just sitting?) There is a few hiccups when starting it for the first time, if it does not find the car after you complete set up just unplug it’s battery wait about 30 seconds and plug back in. This will restart the system and you should be fine if not go through the setup agian or check your home WiFi signal strength. I have multiple access points (ap’s) as our farm house is large and the car has no problem as yet jumping between them, even when outside. I do with it had a proportional steering as what it has is nothing short of a toy grade RC car. As a first product it does however prove concept and I hope they make a more capable version to use with say the v3 camera. I am using the WYZE cam black on my rover as it was the only one in stock and the v1 is not a great quality camera. I have yet to test away from the house under cellular signal and I have not done travel mode where it directly connects to the rover. I will say however that this little guy showed a lot of promise even for things like running it in your crawl space to check for damage of any kind. It’s head lights work quite well. Hope this helps you decide, but I will add this this is not a kids toy. It will not take large punishment. I did test it on a free fall of 3 feet and it did fine but, I do not know how many it will take as it is all plastic. I will be doing a lot of upgrades to this little car even thinking of planing it onto a true rock crawler frame.
