I know there’s so much pressure on Microsoft/Xbox. As a longtime Xbox owner, I’m here to say. Xbox is awesome, GamePass rules. You want day 1 games and amazing game options. You have to pay for it. The cost of GamPass is nothing compared to the hours and days of fun and enjoyment. Really depends on the network type and quality (wired, waves = mobile (4G/ 5G), wi-fi, as long as you have 20MBps, you’re safe) this app makes the experience really smooth. I’ve use this so many time to play my games on my tablet. It is amazing and that’s not even part of it Samsung game hub you can even download and play your games without a Consol, which is amazing. Also, I think that’s a separate thing from game pass. I have to say this is really easy to use just like the Xbox app but game pass app is a little more advance & enhanced. What’s amazing is just like the Xbox app on the game pass app there’s a reward system separate from the Xbox app so that’s another tier of a reward system game pass. Also, don’t forget the Internet explorer points and the Microsoft edge apps that you can download to get more points. It’s amazing how Microsoft an Xbox has grown. I enjoyed my time being with Xbox and game pass. Thank you for the opportunities that I got to experience. ### 5/5 — Game to your heart’s content *2023-06-30* I’m having a blast with gamepass, it has a lot of games I’ve wanted to play for a while and got to experience most and discovered a few Jems on the way. The lineup is getting better every year and at times new games are coming straight to gamepass that right there is awesome. Also one quick thing X cloud gaming is incredible take the games from gamepass on the go with your safe file and continue your adventures anywhere you want, I will say sometimes depending on your internet speed your experiences might not be consistent but most of the time it works great. it’s still on Beta so there’ll be more to come from xcloud gaming I’m excited for the future. ### 5/5 — Very useful *2023-05-18* One of the features of the Xbox platform, remotely install games away from your console , manage storage , access rewards scheme , play games on the cloud if you have a good stable connection and have lots of data if on LTE network, both this and the Xbox app are very useful tools that between both you can interact with friends , manage your console , purchase and download games , message friends , only downside is that with this infrastructure and connectivity there is still a complete lack of first party games , the ones that are available are vastly inferior in quality to the PlayStation , even though the chipset in the PS5 is a generation behind the Series S/X it absolutely outperforms both consoles . Hopefully this will change especially after the absolute tragedy that is Redfall , or Dredfall which is a more accurate representation of the utter train wreck of a game that pretty much has destroyed even the most hardened Xbox gamer confidence , has made the platform a laughing stock in the whole gaming community ! This is why I love the XBox platform. I can play anywhere on so many devices. It’s the greatest way to play games nowadays. I play on my phone, tablet, my pc, and my console. I love it so much. Now that it’s coming to Meta Quest/oculus, I can’t wait. This will be so much better than PSVR because the Meta Quest / Oculus is wireless and with cloud gaming your games can be played anywhere with Wi-Fi connectivity. Gives me recommended games based off of my already expansive library(50 games). Found one of my favorite games that I played on my now-rarely used other console. Discovered a very fun game, got a game that I had been wanting for years but couldn’t get, and discovered some of the finest platforming games out there. I think Microsoft added the right games at the right times. This app is probably the easiest way to find games that interest you whether it’s platforming, action-adventure, or any other, you will find something that you love. ### 5/5 — Great Adaptability *2022-12-15, version 2213.17.1201* I really didn’t expect much from an Xbox app but they put they’re whole gamussy into making this app. It’s literally the ability to hold your Xbox in your hands and do basically everything you would with an Xbox but on the go. I love this feature because I drive around a lot and when I want to play I don’t want to have to lug my Xbox with me, so this just makes my life a whole lot easier overall. I would recommend getting this app if you have an Xbox in a heartbeat!!! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Constantly loses connection to console *2024-08-21* About 90% of the time when I go to download a game to my console it says it can’t find any devices. The help provided in-app is not helpful at all as all settings are correct. When it does end up working it usually on works for a couple of days before it can’t find the console anymore. Incredibly flaky. ### 1/5 — No real streaming options *2024-08-12* I should be able to switch to local network for streaming instead of wasting bandwidth on your cloud streaming system so I can get a crisp video and still play with a moderately fast connection. Sure it works but enemies look like smudges because its video is being thrown uselessly back and forth between satellites when I’m sitting in the kitchen with my Xbox in view with the controller still doing inputs. Explain what’s wrong there without sad excuses maybe. If I gotta go get a whole other suite of programs and devices and most likely subscriptions to get a decent video and connection what’s the point? How many of those games actually boot up no problem? Well so far it’s been none for me. I pay for ultimate game pass as I play on PC and NONE OF THE DAY ONE GAMES LAUNCH or even start up. Always gives me an error and then I spend like 5 days to trouble shoot it works for a day and then an update happens and it stops working again…. I’ve put reviews and suggestions trying to address the issue with day one games. No response nor do they address any of the issues… their trouble shooting tips are literally copied from trouble shooting my pc (non game related trouble shooting). The fact that you guys wanna raise the price and not fix these issues gives me no option but to cancel my gamepass subscription. It was good, but now it’s crap. Unless you are rocking an 13th gen cpu and maybe a 4080, I believe the day one games just don’t work. Definitely NOT going to recommend friends to get this. I HAVE AN XBOX AND IM SURE THE GAMES WILL WORK ON THERE…. Then, pressing the Install button in app doesn’t work either with an error message flagged raised in the App. When I do press install in the app, on my Xbox console a queue item appears for a few seconds but disappears and then the app raises the error. Not sure what other options there are? Seems broken at this stage to me. Great concept, keen to see it work once developers resolve the bugs. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work waste of time *2020-05-24, version 2001.0018.0414* This app keeps telling me to do something that I can’t because it has been done already it keeps telling me to enable remote downloads which has been on I never turned it off It’s telling me to enable instant on I keep this on to update my console and games now it’s telling me to select my home Xbox but there’s nothing to select I’ve reset my console and signed out of the app and back in again and nothing happens it just keeps telling me the same thing over and over again it will add them to play later but never download anything I went to the app on my console and it said it was in the play later but won’t download this app is just a waste of space on my phone and I will be deleting it until they fix it which will probably be never ### 2/5 — Games expire too soon *2021-10-13* I was enthusiastic to begin with and subbed for 6months upfront, however 4 times now I have got into a game only for it to leave the service and no longer be playable, it doesn’t say when downloading how long it will be available for! I think as long as my sub is paid I should be able to continue playing the downloaded game. Another huge issue I had was gamepass on pc, even after uninstalling games they would occupy 100s of gb on my hdd. With no way to manually delete even uninstalling Xbox app didn’t clear the hidden data and folder access is denied. I had to format the drive and reinstall the so to purge it of all this. Very bad I feel 2 stars is all it deserves. Works Seamlessly with all 3 of my consoles but I do wish I could change certain settings from the app. Like a few times I’ve wanted to remote install things from work to be ready when I got off but was unable to because of console setting changes for different reasons or privacy settings that I couldn’t change remotely. A simple popup option like “Unable to download due to _ _ _ restriction on your console. Would you like to enable for this download?” How cool would that be? Can’t see why we can remote play, remote install, even control certain more complex options but can’t adjust a simple setting like this. But just like everything else, it does have its moments when I can’t get it to work properly but it’s usually that I’m not doing somethin right myself or where I’ve had my system on for a while, for a couple of days, and all it needed was a brake from me, LOL, so I just reset it, I power it off and leave it off for a few seconds & power it back on & then after it loads everything back up I can go do whatever it was I was trying to do and it works!!! I use my Xbox with my Alexa devices to control my TV’s, Light’s, Camera’s, & Prime Video and all other app’s & games across all my different platform’s & device’s from my iPhone to my laptop & Smart TV’s!!! I have owned & enjoyed playing all of the Xbox’s from the very first Xbox that ever came out with to the Xbox 360 & the Xbox X/S & thy all still work great & function great. Microsoft/Xbox/Apple has provided me, my friend’s, & my family with years of experience & help on all subjects with all my devices & how to use them properly & safely!!!
