The interface changed recently and I can no longer access photos on my phone. In other words, the device when plugged in no longer reads photos on my phone. This is a big disappointment since I own two of these X disc plug-ins and bought two more for family members with iPhones. ### 3/5 — Used to work great *2020-12-04, version 4.8.1* I got the accessory and the app about a year ago and it worked great. There must have been an update though because now the app is useless and the SD card does not even show up and the app does not look at all like it used to. The accessory is useless without the app and now I have to buy another one. I really liked this before the most recent update. Also the app no longer looks like the pictures shown here. ### 2/5 — Used to be 5 stars. Useless after Apple update. *2020-11-27, version 4.8.1* This was a great app. Let you easily view, copy and/or move files from any device to IPad. But Apple released an update that makes it useless on the iPad. A new version was supposed to fix this, but it has not. Still works for other devices, but main reason for purchase was for use with my iPad. Very disappointing... ### 2/5 — iPhone updated & no longer reads memory card *2020-11-17, version 4.8.1* Loved this for about a year & never had an issue with it. My phone had an update & now it no longer reads the memory card. I thought it was the device & got a new one & still the same issue. This saved me as my camera does not have Bluetooth & transferring pictures to the computer & then to storage devices took way too much time. Sure hope this gets fixed cause I depend on this almost every day!! ### 2/5 — Not work with iPhone anymore *2020-10-29, version 4.8.1* This apps worked well with my iPhone a month ago. Transfer photos from iPhone to SD card smoothly. All of a sudden, it seems not reading the SD card at all. It cannot read the photos on my iPhone either. Could you please fix it? Otherwise it makes my card reader totally useless. ### 1/5 — Strange recent change for the worst *2020-10-27, version 4.8.1* Yea like another said- this app used to work and now suddenly it is absolutely weird and not only doesn’t work at all but appearance is different and it is now a merge into iCloud Files which even if you locate the source files to separate and remove them, it comes back and xdisk isn’t listed as a saved app on iCloud it’s now a “folder “ and can’t be removed. Awful and hella shady fix it you Chinese spying jerks ### 1/5 — Worked one time... *2020-10-23, version 4.8.1* Seems to me that the update done a month ago has now rendered this useless. I’ve used this once on my iPad and once on my iPhone. When plugged in the app would open and show the files on my external and allow the file to be moved, now nothing pops up and the app shows nothing on any external SD card i use. Fix please. This worked great the first time. ### 2/5 — New IPad version does not read memory card *2020-10-21, version 4.8.1* I got this in the spring to be able to quickly watch videos off my son’s go pro camera. It worked fine for what we were doing. At some point an update was done that rendered the iPad useless as the software no longer recognizes your card at all. In fact it doesn’t even look like the app used to. You have no way to access your files. Amazingly it still works just fine on my iPhone like before, but the iPad does not. I sure hope someone fixes whatever bug they have with this soon because it’s basically now useless. ### 2/5 — Not working in iOS14? *2020-10-15, version 4.8.1* I’m having issues since updating to iOS 14. When I attach my memory card to a device running iOS14, the xDisk app opens as it should, but the new “files” version shows, and doesn’t allow me to choose my external SD card to transfer content. I have an older iOS 13 device that everything still works, and the UX is in it’s older format. Any advances on when this will be updated, or what I’m doing wrong? ### 1/5 — Stopped working *2020-10-14, version 4.8.1* Running iOS 14.2 and the app seems like it’s been abandoned. Was working Great! Bought several of the drives and then boom, open the app and it just brings you to the files app with no way to get my photos to my phone on the go now I have to use a laptop again.... if it’s fixed I would really love to take this down and leave 5 stars in its place! I loved the app before! Till then it’s useless ### 1/5 — Inconsistent - no support *2020-10-01, version 4.8.1* I had to download this app for use with a Suntrsi SD card reader. I use the reader to transfer photos and video from hunting trail cams. Worked fine with my iPhone a few months ago. Now will only work with my iPad. WTH! Also will not transfer video files. I hope someone will contact me to advise how to restore use with iPhone so I don’t have to take my iPad to the woods with me. Sheesh! It just opens my iPhone’s file folder now with the words xDisk at the top instead. I use this to read sd cards with my iPhone. Same sd cards last week and the sd cards have photos on them. Like I said the app doesn’t even open properly because it looks nothing like last week or like the pictures in the preview. I have tried deleting and re-downloaded it twice. ### 1/5 — Crashes every time with latest version *2020-09-01, version 4.7.8* Worked fine for days moving files between microSD card in a Suntrsi adapter and IPad and PC. Latest version though now causes a software crash every time I press copy to the photo library of IPad or copy from photo library of IPad to micro SD card and nothing gets transferred. Now my Suntrsi USB to lightning reader adapter is just a paperweight. Very disappointed. ### 4/5 — Worked yesterday, now it won’t *2020-08-31, version 4.7.8* Using this on an iPhone. Yesterday it worked fine. New version overnight and now the app dies whenever you try to save a image to the phone. Total crash and close. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — They broke it *2021-07-01, version 4.8.1* Originally I praised this app for not relying on the Files app, resulting in an app that was faster than any of the generic OTG adaptors on the market. A year later I've come back to find that the Files app is integrated into it and it no longer works. Can't tell if it's an issue with that app or my adaptor, but I can't even figure out the first thing about how this works now. Should've known better than to trust the devs to not break something that alresdy works. ### 1/5 — Wont work on IOS 14.4.2... *2021-04-15, version 4.8.1* Worked great loved this app and easy way to upload pictures and files from my SD card to my phone or Facebook or send them to someone..then updated my iPhone and BOOM it stopped working. The app still prompts to open when you plug in the card reader to the iPhone but the app won’t load card...so it’s pointless ### 1/5 — It was great until y’all 🤬 it up. *2021-03-28, version 4.8.1* So I got a Suntrsi adapter for Christmas last year and the app and adapter worked wonderfully! Beautiful app and UI, and speedy transfer. Then I updated my app, and now I can’t even use it. All it does is brings up a Files window that can’t even be used. If I wanted to do that, I would’ve just gotten an OTG adapter. At least I can still use the adapter for the USB part with other computers. I’m very disappointed. If you purchased an adapter that uses this app, and you are going to be using it solely on your iPhone, please return it and search for another product. ### 1/5 — No longer able to upload to iPad from card reader. *2021-01-10, version 4.8.1* Hello App Developer: Please release an UPDATE that fixes this issue. This X-disk app used to work great. Now it will not work from my iPad. It will allow me to access the app, but the app looks totally different. It will not allow uploads from the WingHome card reader. It doesn’t even recognize that a memory card reader is connected. It still works with a few glitches on the iPhone 8, but not on the iPad, and not on the newer iPhones. Please release an update that fixes this issue as its useless for iPad users as well as newer versions of the iPhone. ### 1/5 — The “update” was just to turn into the files app *2020-12-13, version 4.8.1* It worked fine before so I went on the app after a while to see my old files and I get and notification saying to update the app for “bug fixes” but after I updated it, it change to the generic files app and my sd card adapter no longer works on it. I can’t see any of my files on the app which was what it was made for and idk what to do. If you get an notification to “update” the app, don’t do it. Just stick to the older version if it’s still usable. ### 1/5 — Go back to version 4.7.7 NOW. *2020-12-08, version 4.8.1* You really screwed the pooch on the last “update”. The device is completely useless now. I cannot do anything remotely similar that the original version allowed me to do. The screen shots on iTunes Store don’t even match to the “upgraded and fixed” new version. You went from the best app I have seen for moving files to and from the iPhone to pure crap. Thanks for nothing. ### 1/5 — Buyer Beware *2020-12-07, version 4.8.1* If you are thinking about buying the memory stick, make sure to check these reviews for the app needed to make everything work. I bought the card reader about a year ago and with the app everything was working smooth. I could back my my iPhone photos and move them and transfer. Then an app update happened and now the app is garbage for managing your photos. ### 1/5 — Update rendered useless *2020-11-27, version 4.8.1* Needed a way to quickly get my photos from my camera card to my iPhone. Found this and thought it’d be perfect. Linked it all up and it was working just fine, doing exactly what I needed. I went to a photo shoot with the plan to use this device. Plugged it in, opened the app, useless. There must have been an update of some sort that made the entire device/app useless. I tried to no avail, had a small panic attack because everyone was relying on me, basically I had to cancel the shoot and ruin someone’s wedding. Don’t rely on this. The update to the app was a huge mistake and someone messed up because now the app does nothing. I’m furious to say the least. I guess the problem is related to an ios upgrade and software not compatible. I have deleted and reinstalled the app many times, but nothing, no one has addresses the problem. It doesn’t recognize any memory card at all. Really disappointed. ### 1/5 — Used to work - no longer does *2020-11-13, version 4.8.1* This used to work great, was easy to get to files etc. but it no longer works. It recognizes the usb is connected and asks to allow access but that’s where it ends. Once in the app the app won’t show the usb for you to browse files. It only shows files on your phone or iCloud but no way to get to the files on the usb. I’m currently having a problem with reading a 256gb Sandisk microSD. The video was taken by my Anafi drone and I think it is because the drone separated the files into different directories. I can see the video when I play it from the drone but the app gets stuck on the “reading” screen. The xDisk flashes blue, once, and then gets stuck. It only happens with the particular SD card from the drone. **Developer response:** Hello, you need to format the sandisk 256gb card on your computer. ### 5/5 — Thank you developer for the new update 4.6.6 *2019-06-18, version 4.6.6* The new update improves a lot including a new added features. I’m so happy you listen to our request. Now we can easily transfer photos and video to your sunstrsi tf/video card reader. One of the best feature is ability to transfer from iCloud save photos to your card reader. Kindly please add support to import photos or video from some apps to xdisk please. For example: import video from filmic pro to xdisk would be nice. Works well for what it’s intended to do. The App and device work as advertised. I was able to transfer 20GB worth of videos to the device for watching on my iPad while killing time. ### 4/5 — Awesome!!! *2021-11-15, version 4.8.1* I loved being able to use an external disk for storage. Then I updated my ipad OS by mistake. Now it's useless, defaulting to file viewer which can do nothing but look at files. (viewer is kind of a hint.)
