### 3/5 — Readers Don’t Work!

*2026-01-23, version 6.0.3*

The app will have me hold my phone to the reader, only to bring up an NFC tag that directs me to the app but will not start any charging session. No matter how many times I try and redownload the app. Bugs that need fixing.

### 1/5 — Idle fee scam

*2025-10-19, version 5.4.1*

Idle fees are NOT based on congestion and are predatory. This company is a nasty scam.

### 1/5 — 4gb????

*2025-10-16, version 5.4.1*

Why does it take up so much memory on my phone?

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-10-11, version 5.4.1*

Works smooth, no bugs. Very easy to get charging with any vehicle, especially Tesla’s!

### 1/5 — Charger are always broken

*2025-10-08, version 5.4.1*

They never fixed the chargers at my complex.

### 1/5 — Service fee of 0.49 dollar

*2025-09-02, version 5.3.0*

Ridiculous

### 5/5 — EV Perfection

*2025-08-31, version 5.3.0*

I charge on many networks and Xeal is the one that consistently delivers the best experience - fast and reliable every single time

### 1/5 — Over priced and low charge

*2025-08-27, version 5.3.0*

This is the worst service I have ever used when it comes to charging. I payed 2 times as much as I normally pay for a full charge and only got about 40% of my battery actually charged. Use charge point it is so much better.

### 1/5 — Scam!!!!

*2025-08-12, version 5.3.0*

Charged me $19 and then 24 hours later an extra $40? Reported this scam station for fraud. Having my bank reverse all fees

### 3/5 — Kinda works kinda doesn’t.

*2025-07-14*

The app works as far as being able to get the charger started.

The app doesn’t update the current session at all. At least for me it doesn’t. It just stays on the last reading from when you walk away from the car.

The app also gives no notifications. I started what should’ve been a 4-5 hour session. The charger shut off 35 minutes into it. I end up getting charged a $5 per hour idle fee before I realize it’s not charging anymore.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible experience

*2026-08-23*

I am constantly having to babysit Xeal to make sure they charge me the correct price and end the session after I’ve unplugged my vehicle.

I have found charges several times that are not related to my vehicle and it appears that Xeal just allows. My card being ran up by someone else’s charging.

This problem never happens with Tesla and I highly recommend that you go to Tesla instead and avoid these chargers— honestly a scam.

### 1/5 — Totally unreliable, no human to talk with

*2026-07-08, version 6.3.1*

My apartment complex has these installed and one in my space works 10% of the time. I’ve tried reaching out to customer service on multiple occasions and every time I get to a point where the AI bot tells me they’re going to get a human involved and then nothing happens. The app never seems to engage the charger properly, even after updating.

### 1/5 — Frustrating app

*2026-06-22*

This app functions but just barely, if you open it while you have reduced cellular service, it will lock up. You will need to restart the app with better connectivity. Occasionally it just doesn’t register the NFC connection at all and a force shutdown of all applications and a reboot of XEAL will be required. I don’t feel that the Xeal EV Chargers are capable of ending the sessions on their own and I feel some idle fees have been caused by the charger not recognizing when the car was disconnected. It’s super annoying that you are required to open up the app to end the charge. The app frustrates me beyond belief and I feel the developers have plenty to learn from ChargePoint and other apps.

### 1/5 — Awful App

*2026-03-15, version 6.2.3*

This app is forced upon users to use the ev chargers. It also asks invasive questions, requires phone numbers and is just terrible.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-02-20, version 6.2.0*

It’s pretty ridiculous that this company and many others have been around for a while yet still haven’t figure this simple technology out. Updates have progressively gotten worse, with the app requiring to be fully quit and restarted 2-3 times before it connects to a charger

### 1/5 — Very bad chargers

*2026-01-26, version 6.1.0*

These are the worst chargers I’ve encountered.
Avoid this app and this company.

### 1/5 — Gas prices!

*2026-01-26, version 6.1.0*

They are great if you want to pay as much as you would for gas. Otherwise? Nah.

### 1/5 — Horrible app. Get better developers.

*2026-01-10, version 6.0.3*

Always hangs unlike other charging apps and doesn’t always update realtime charge. Get better developers.

### 1/5 — Poor business model

*2025-12-14, version 6.0.2*

Why should I have to share location and Bluetooth for a charger I am using in a garage. I don’t want them to collect my data.
You should be able to pay with tap.

### 1/5 — $15/hr idle fee 🤡

*2025-10-23, version 5.4.1*

Don’t recommend

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — works great

*2026-08-26*

I signed up, logged in one time and charge every day at my apartment, never had an issue - unlike some ev chargers i use out and about that have screens that are impossible to see, everything is through the app cleanly.

### 5/5 — Excellent Customer Service

*2026-08-26*

Xeal has two chargers at my apartment complex. There was an issue with our phones not recognizing the tap every time we tried to charge.

Customer Support Specialist Tiffanie was very helpful, polite, and got the problem fixed in a timely manner. I can now tap and charge at home.

After this interaction, Xeal is sending out technicians to double-check both charging stations which is very comforting.

Thanks Tiffanie for your help, and thanks Xeal for your charging stations!

### 5/5 — These people are awesome

*2026-08-25*

Had a terrible experience with a faulty charger in my garage. I was really impressed with the way this company handled things and with how prompt they were with every step of the repair process. I highly recommend this organization and would give a sixth star if I could.

### 5/5 — Awesome experience

*2026-07-24*

I have Xeal chargers at my office and use them almost daily. The experience is super easy and never have any issues. Definitely my favorite level 2 charging experience

### 5/5 — Quick & Seamless

*2026-04-02*

If you own an EV, you know by now how awful and inconsistent the charging experience can be. Living in an apartment with a parking deck makes this even worse as the data connection is almost always spotty. Charging with Xeal has been incredible and has never not worked for me.

### 5/5 — Plug In. Power Up!

*2026-03-31*

Recently, Xeal chargers were installed in our new parking garage at work. I have utilized them several times without encountering any issues. Contacting Xeal support for inquiries or concerns has been a seamless process. The support team promptly responds to inquiries. I anticipate having many positive charging experiences in the future.

### 5/5 — My Life Saver

*2026-02-25, version 6.2.0*

My holy grail! The easiest and most convenient ever!

### 5/5 — Xeal EV Charging - So easy!

*2026-02-25*

I used the Xeal EV charging station for the first time and was extremely surprised at how reliable and easy it was to manage! My Mustang Mach-E connected easily and charged quicker than expected.

### 5/5 — Great app, amazing chargers

*2026-01-29, version 6.1.0*

Regardless of my network connectivity, it always works. Pretty cool, easy to use.

### 5/5 — Support and product

*2025-11-19, version 6.0.2*

The product is good and support is great
