Unfortunately, we’re two years into a three year contract with Xelion: what you don’t know until you’ve signed up is that it’s only as good as your network connectivity and our business like many others relies on multiple networks to handle calls…if one network goes down, even for a second, the call won’t come through and it’s hit & miss whether you’ll ever know you had a missed call. The second our contract is up, I’m pulling the plug on Xelion (and all VoIP/cloud-based exchanges) and going to 100% mobile telephony.

Have recently moved from CallSwitch to Xelion8, wish I hadn’t. The app doesnt automatically sync your contacts and now wont make calls.

- Added a copy action for phone numbers in several places throughout the app.

- You can now scroll to the recent items when you open an old communication item.

Fixed
- The number of selectable locations in the settings screen is no longer limited to 15.
- If you start a call now from the phone's address book or from a link outside Xelion while the app is closed, it now opens and makes the call immediately. 
- Call recordings can be played through the speaker again.
- Wallboard values could show -1 as a default value. This is now back to 0.
- Users can copy the transcript summary.

Improved
- The missed indicator only appears when there is missed communication on a line other than the one that is open.
- The indicator for the current line is shown on the "Unread" filter button.
- The chat/communication screen received general and efficiency improvements.
- When you add a work phone number while adding a contact, the indicator for if the organisation is missing, is more clear.

• Contacts can no longer be edited when the user does not have the correct access rights
• The avatar now resets correctly when logging in with a new user
• The location can be set to ‘None’ again
• Sending an image through Xelion's WhatsApp integration now appears correctly in the recipient’s WhatsApp
• The presence list no longer merges multiple results from different tabs
• The line ID (if available) is now correctly displayed in the phone line selector on the ‘Recent’ page

• Updated to match the iOS 26 design
• Simplified the design for adding contacts

### 9.6.2 — 2026-03-02

In March of 2025 Apple ended support for iOS16.
This has consequences for the Xelion iOS App from version 9.6.1:
•  The app is now only tested on iOS17 and newer.
•  Technical issues that occur on iOS16 devices are no longer addressed.
•  Older app versions that are iOS16-compatible, are no longer maintained.

Fixed:
• When user enters an incorrect phone number while logging in with SMS, the user can now log in with a password instead.
• The indicator for missed communication now works correctly.

### 9.6.1 — 2026-02-18

With in March of 2025, Apple ended its support for iOS16. As a result, after this version Xelion:
•  only releases apps  tested on iOS17 and above;
•  no longer resolves technical issues if they occur on iOS16 devices;
•  ends maintenance on app versions that are iOS16-compatible."

New:
• Users can now see all contacts in the ‘Contacts’ overview.
• Users can view highlights of a new Xelion release in the ‘What’s New’ slides.
• Users can now long press on the keys in the ‘Keys’ overview to paste a number.

Fixed:
• Searching for a contact now shows the most recently used contacts first.
• The scroll position in the Contacts and Favourites lists no longer resets after opening a contact card and pressing back.
• Voicemails and call recordings stop playing when the app is closed.
• It looked like WhatsApp messages could still be sent, even though the session was already closed or disabled.
• When sending an SMS, company numbers that support SMS can now be selected again.
• Communication items now show up in ‘recents’ (former ‘message box’) overview.
• Pressing mute in the native iOS call screen now also mutes conversations in the Xelion app.
• The communication overview no longer jumps when the keyboard is opened.
• When sending an attachment that is too large, an error now shows the maximum permitted file size.
• When a user tries to log in with a number that is already in use, they now see an error and can no longer log in.
• The Simplify app overview no longer shows up unnecessarily.
• Locations now show up for colleagues in the Favourites and Presence lists.
• The app no longer crashes when adding a to-do item after removing another one.
• Rearranging the favourites list could sometimes cause a crash — this has been fixed.
• While typing a message in Chat, other users now correctly see that the user is typing.

With Apple CarPlay:
• You can call and search with Siri while the app is open or in the background.
• When opening a contact in CarPlay, the call button would disappear (iOS 26.2+). Now, the list of numbers appears instead with a new design.

Improved:
• A new design is applied to the Messagebox and line selection in the Recent overview.
• A new design is introduced for the phone keys in the ‘Keys’ overview.
• The ‘Settings’ overview is redesigned for clarity.
• Favourites are moved to the ‘Contacts’ overview.
• When the voicemail filter is active in the Recent overview, voicemails can now be played directly.
