It tells you to download a second app from the same developer just to get this one authenticated so they artificially boost the downloads of a second app that nobody wants! You do have an option if you use a web browser on your computer but that option should be made clear on the mobile app as well. ### 2/5 — UX gaps *2021-09-20* Slow convoluted time entry process. No grid view. No ability to copy entries. Have to enter project to search tasks. ### 2/5 — Time entry is painful *2021-06-29* 1 day at a time is driving me and the rest of the team mad. Clicking into a day, entering time, saving then clicking the next day. It would be far easier to enter time against the week. Start/finish times addition is great but would be helpful to have ‘breaks’ added to this for mandatory meal breaks. Otherwise staff either have to alter start/finish time or payroll have to manually adjust each timesheet ### 2/5 — Needs better timing options *2020-05-06* Compared to other time trackers this is really tedious to use. Many improvements are needed but first up it should allow you to select a project when you start the timer. Fix this please it’s doing my head in. ### 1/5 — Bait and switch *2024-05-31* If you’re a standard subscriber note that you will have to move to the ultimate plan to continue using Xero projects. For us this is an increase of £300 from £550 to £850 per year. This increase in costs is not obvious because it is hidden in the plan comparison between the old and new plans. It is sneaky and underhanded. ### 1/5 — Always lots of bugs *2022-11-09* Latest one is the clock change hour And anything previous to today the date revert back to today on reviewing time. So today I’ve done 54 hours. Wow ### 1/5 — iPhone app slows you down *2022-02-01* I’ve been using the iPad app for some time before having to switch to my phone when my iPad developed some hardware issues. The iPad app at least makes some attempt to help you get timesheets done more efficiently. The iPhone app however doesn’t seem to have an obvious way (that I have found) to help you enter repeat times/projects. It fascinates me that a product company like this doesn’t cater buying the basics. In this case, failing to either do the user needs analysis or acknowledge the user needs and recognise that many people often book the same time, to the same code for weeks. It’s fairly straight forward to give users another way to input data, by changing how you ask the questions. E.g. i want to be able to say I worked on project x all week, my work day is 8 hours. Done. That’s just scratching the surface of how the ux can be improved. Unfortunately at the moment it’s not much more that a shiny UI. ### 1/5 — Xero me *2021-11-17, version 4.3.3* Projects is fine but it is impossible to get onto Xero me I’ve tried everything ### 1/5 — Trash *2020-03-11, version 2.9.0* So complicated to use ### 1/5 — Useless *2019-05-29* I just don’t understand how Xero can find it so difficult to implement a timesheet app which links to projects. This gets them so close but because of a single critical functionality it is all but useless. Xero team please listen as this is so simple: a timesheet app allows employees to record start and finish times for their day. They need to be able to split these time entries into different projects set up in Xero. This app allows ‘hours’ to be allocated to projects but this skips the critical ‘time keeping’ component. This app takes them so close but because of that simple flaw it is all but useless. ### 1/5 — Needs a proper timesheet app *2018-04-23* Entering time to projects and tasks is an absolute nightmare with Xero Projects. It needs a simple interface, preferably with 7 columns representing each day of the week, and then a seperate row for each project/task to be entered to. I’ve had to revert back to Harvest because of this. ### 2/5 — Can’t perform basic analysis *2024-04-27* This is NOT a project management tool, simply a time tracker and invoice generator. It’s impossible to view invoices on the ledger to check if they have been assigned to a project or look at invoice date in Projects. So actual financial analysis of a project is not possible. WTAF? ### 2/5 — Annoying and clunky *2023-02-12, version 5.4.4* The app is a bit cumbersome… doesn’t remember what you’re working on or have any smart fields - basically have to enter all data again and again repeatedly. That’s annoying but fine… until the ‘Review us! Review us!’ prompts keep popping up endlessly and getting in the way of doing all that data entry. Just a very average product from a company that should know better. It’s super easy to open a new project on the fly, record your time, and save all your records for each client. Now their staff use the Projects app for their timesheets so they are allocated to project and loaded into a Payrun.
